Patricia (Emmons) Haselton
Hinesburg —
Patricia Paulita Conway (Emmons) Haselton, beloved wife and mother,
passed away in her home on the morning of Aug. 6, 2005, surrounded by
her family and friends, following a long illness.
She was born at
home in Hinesburg Hollow on Aug. 5, 1948, the daughter of the late Earl
Sr. and Mary (Conway) Emmons.
She married
Stanley Haselton on June 2, 1973, in St. Jude’s Church, Hinesburg.
Patricia was an
active member of St. Jude’s Parish and the Vermont Chapter of the Blue
Army. She made several holy pilgrimages including trips to Fatima,
Portugal, Rome, Italy and the "Footsteps of St. Paul", through
Italy, Greece and Turkey. Pat’s greatest passion in life was her
family with whom she shared her love of cooking by frequently hosting
holiday dinners, Sunday brunches and other special occasions where she
would lavish guests with a variety of her delightful home-baked goods.
She was also an avid flower and vegetable gardener.
She is survived by
her devoted family, her loving husband, Stanley Haselton; her son,
Thomas Haselton; and her daughter, Carrie Haselton; her brothers and
sisters, Mary Brace of Starksboro, Elinor Lucia and husband Charles of
Hinesburg, Bernard Emmons and wife Theresa of Washington, Helen Cote and
husband Raymond of Hinesburg, Henry Emmons and wife Linda of Starksboro,
Louella Clark and husband Fletcher of Lincoin and Francis Emmons and
wife Carol of Hinesburg; and many nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her parents, Earl and Mary Emmons of Hinesburg; her
brothers, Edward of Hartford, Conn., Earl "Squirrel" Jr. of
Hinesburg and Ortho "Shorty" of Randolph Center; and her
infant sister, Annette.
Pat is also
survived by several godchildren, Eric Emmons, Erica Livingston, Terri
Cote, Justin Gooley and Spencer George; as well as special friends,
Roger and Cathy Ferland, Judy and Cecilia Burritt, Ruth Ann Rhodes,
Linda Gilbeau and Sam Hines, Carolyn, Joe, Taylor, Jarod and Spencer
George, Jay, Sandy, Patrick and Brandon Hanley, Sarah Bouvier, Kim
Landry, Jessi Deforge and many others.
Patricia will be
greatly missed by those whose lives she touched throughout the years.
A Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005,
in St. Jude Church, Hinesburg. Visiting hours in St. Jude’s Parish
Hall will be on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a
recitation of the Holy Rosary immediately following. A celebration of
her life will be held in St. Jude’s Parish Hall following her
interment in Holy Rosasry Cemetery, Richmond.
Patricia has
requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
"Vermont Chapter of the Blue Army", c/o Clairette Berard, 302
Colchester Road, Essex Junction, VT 05452.

Queenie
I. Gadway,
85, formerly of the Arthur LeFevbre Apartments died Sunday, Aug. 7,
2005, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born in
Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Nov. 10, 1919, the daughter of Philip and Cecelia
(Gadway) Lamoy.
At Queenie’s
request there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private
and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are
by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
EDWARD
SHARPE LEARY,
died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005 in Tupper Lake at his home on
Moody Road.
He was born on
Oct. 14, 1943 in Kew Gardens, N.Y., the son of Francis T. and Ester
(Sharpe) Leary.
A memorial service
will be held at the Richer Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13,
2005. Friends are invited to call beginning at 10 a.m. A luncheon in Ed’s
honor will follow immediately at the Knights of Columbus Hall on High
Street in Tupper Lake.
