Pauline G. Bilow
CHATEAUGAY —
Pauline G. Bilow, 88, a resident of the Burke Adult Center Home since
February 1997, and formerly of County Route 11, Chateaugay, died on
Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 2, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home in
Malone where she had been a patient since June.
Born in West
Lebanon, N.H., on Aug. 15, 1916, she was the only daughter of Louis N.
and Annie F. (Lemay) Patnode.
Pauline graduated
from West Lebanon High School in 1934. On July 24, 1937, she married
Walter F. Bilow at Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon, N.H. The couple moved
to Chateaugay in 1940 and owned a large dairy farm until both retired in
1979. Mr. Bilow, her husband of 56 years, died on June 19, 1994.
Mrs. Bilow was a
communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay and for 56 years was
in the Catholic Daughters Court St. Helen 100 and served in many roles
including regent, financial secretary, treasurer, and after 50 years, as
an honorary member. She was also active in the Altar and Rosary Society.
Membership was
also held in the Franklin County Extension and Home Bureau, then later
the Franklin County Senior Citizens. Mrs. Bilow was an Election Day
Inspector for many years. Pauline enjoyed auctions, collecting fine
glassware, baking, gardening and her family. She was previously a league
bowler.
Survivors include
a daughter, Jean A. Bilow of Watertown; a son, Donald W. and
daughter-in-law, Barbara H. Bilow of Chateaugay; a daughter, Marlene A.
and son-in-law, Jay E. Swab of Claverack. Mrs. Bilow has one
granddaughter, Lynda C. Bilow of Albany; and five grandsons, Joseph W.
Bilow of New York City, John E. Swab of Fayetteville, Ga., James S. Swab
of Scotia, Kenneth M. Swab of Poughkeepsie and Major Kevin A. Swab of
Auburn; seven great-grandchildren; her husband's only remaining sibling,
Lillian M. Tacy of Chateaugay; a cousin, Anita L. McBain of Lebanon, N.H.,
who was one of two attendants at her wedding; a number of nieces and
nephews; additional relatives and good friends.
Her father died in
January 1960, her mother in January 1971 and her only sibling a brother,
Stanley J. Patnode died on Oct. 28, 1990, in Lebanon, N.H.; his wife,
Dorothy S. of Canaan, N.H. survives.
Calling hours are
at the Chateaugay Funeral Home, 36 Church St. from 5 to 8 p.m. on
Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005. The Catholic Daughters will hold a ritual
service at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at 11 a.m.
in St. Patrick's Church, 11 West Main St., Chateaugay with Father John
Demo, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in the
Parish Cemetery after committal prayers. The family will receive guests
at the Chateaugay American Legion following the services.

Doris Helen Trainor
TICONDEROGA —
Doris Helen Trainor, 80, formerly of Alexandria Avenue, and most
recently of the Inter-Lakes Adult Home, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2,
2005, at the Inter-Lakes Hospital of Ticonderoga.
Born in
Ticonderoga, Oct. 21, 1924, to the parents of Henry and Rita Curtis
Bezio.
Mrs. Trainor has
been a life long resident of Ticonderoga. She was a communicant of St.
Mary’s Church.
Mrs. Trainor was
predeceased by her husband, Arthur L. Trainor; and a son, Leverne
Trainor.
Survivors include
two daughters, Colleen T. Wells and her husband James and Laurie J.
Flack and her husband Edwin, both of Ticonderoga. She is also survived
by three brothers, Vernel Bezio of Dresden, John Bezio of Fort Edward
and Rolland Bezio of Ticonderoga. Other survivors include four
grandsons, James L. Wells Jr., Jeffrey S. Wells, Jay P. Wells and his
wife Kristina and Joseph C. Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and
friends may call Thursday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan
Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga, N.Y. A funeral Mass will
take place Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where
the Rev. William G. Muench will officiate. The Rite of Committal will
follow at the family plot of St. Mary’s Parish.
RUSSELL
B. LANCTO, 71,
of Wellington Street, Malone, N.Y., died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 at the
Alice Hyde Medical Center.
He was born March
2, 1934, in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., he was the son of George and Helen
LeDuc Lancto. They predeceased him.
Calling hours will
be Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral
chapel.
Funeral services
will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005 in St. Mary-Murphy
Funeral Home chapel. Burial will take place in St. John Bosco Cemetery.

SARA
R. SEVERANCE,
88, of Brown's Court, Peru, died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the CVPH
Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in
AuSable Forks, March 13, 1917, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Whisher)
Keyea.
There will be no
public calling hours.
A memorial Mass
will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name
Church in AuSable Forks with the Rev. Philip Allen, pastor, celebrating.
Burial will follow in The Parish Cemetery.
Arrangements are
by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
