Doris Helen Trainer
TICONDEROGA —
Doris Helen Trainer, 80, formerly of Alexandria Avenue, and most
recently of the Inter Lakes Adult Home, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2,
2005, at the Inter Lakes Hospital of Ticonderoga.
Born in
Ticonderoga, Oct. 21, 1924, to the parents of Henry and Rita Curtis
Bezio.
Mrs. Trainer has
been a life long resident of Ticonderoga. She was a communicant of St.
Mary’s Church.
Mrs. Trainer was
predeceased by her husband, Arthur L. Trainer; a son, Leverne Trainer;
and a sister, Raydean Jenks.
Survivors include
two daughters, Colleen T. Wells and her husband James and Laurie J.
Flack and her husband Edwin, both of Ticonderoga. She is also survived
by three brothers, Vernel Bezio of Dresden, John Bezio of Fort Edward
and Rolland Bezio of Ticonderoga. Other survivors include four
grandsons, James L. Wells Jr., Jeffrey S. Wells, Jay P. Wells and his
wife Kristina and Joseph C. Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and
friends may call Thursday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan
Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga, N.Y. A funeral Mass will
take place Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where
the Rev. William G. Muench will officiate. The Rite of Committal will
follow at the family plot of St. Mary’s Parish.
Marion E. Thew
Harkness —
Marion E. Thew, 85, of the Fred Thew Road, died peacefully, Tuesday,
Aug. 2, 2005, at her home.
She was born in
Harkness, Feb. 8, 1920, the daughter of John T. and Bessie (Boyd)
McCormick.
Marion graduated
from Keeseville High School in 1938.
She married
Chester G. Thew, Oct. 10, 1944. He died Friday, April 28, 2000.
Marion was a
member of the Harkness United Methodist Women. She enjoyed gardening,
quilting, crocheting, knitting, reading, providing flowers for her
church and playing cards, but her true love was spending time with her
family.
Survivors include
five daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and John Ryan, Janice and Richard
Kennedy, all of Peru, Gail and Thomas LaDuke of Voorheesville, Charis
and Richard Duffina of Peru and Brenda and Randy Gushlaw of
Morrisonville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Susan Thew of
Plattsburgh and Scott and Nancy Thew of Peru; a sister, Genevieve Layhee
of Plattsburgh; a sister-in-law, Doris B.K. Morrow of Peru; 18
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also
predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Roger and William McCormick;
and two sisters, Marjorie Parsons and Edna Layhee.
Calling hours will
be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Harkness
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sally White, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the West Peru Cemetery.
In lieu of
flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the West Peru Cemetery
Association.
Nellie
Bortell, 90, of
Saranac Lake died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in
Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Born in the town
of Franklin. N.Y., on March 16, 1915.
Funeral
arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. A graveside
service is set to take place at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at
the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake, N.Y.
Pauline
G. Bilow, 88,
formerly of Chateaugay died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at the Alice Hyde
Nursing Home where she had been a patient since June 8, 2005.
Arrangements are
incomplete through the Chateaugay Funeral Home and will be announced
later.
