David E. Lewis

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — David E. Lewis, 63, of Charlotte, N.C., and Morrisonville, N.Y., died unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, July 23, 2005.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 21, 1941, the son of Edward and Olive (Bradley) Lewis.

He graduated from Peru Central School in 1959 and from Norwich University in 1963. After graduation from Norwich, he served at the U.S. Naval Security Agency in Washington, D.C., and then in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant in Communications Engineering until his honorable discharge in July of 1969.

Using the training and top secret security clearance that he had from the military, he went on to work for the Hughes Aircraft Company of California as an electronics engineer working on government defense projects. David worked in Germany, Italy, Iceland and the United States.

David is survived by his mother, Olive Lewis of Morrisonville; one sister, Joyce Conners of Plattsburgh; two aunts, Myrtle Bradley of Morrisonville and Claudia Bradley of Plattsburgh; four nieces, Sherry Willauer of Titusville, Fla., Deborah Conners of Plattsburgh, Barbara Pavone and her husband Mike of Morrisonville and Patricia McKenna of North Carolina; one nephew, Dana Conners and his wife Michaele of North Carolina; five grandnieces; four grandnephews; five great-grandnieces; and three great-grandnephews; and many cousins and good friends, including Artis Brown of Plattsburgh, whom David thought of as family.

David was predeceased by his father, Edward D. Lewis; his wife, the former Judith Ernst of Cape Cod; and three nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Aug. 1, from noon to 2 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Rocker of the Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Burial will follow in the Schuyler Falls Cemetery in Schuyler Falls.

Donations can be made to the Schuyler Falls Cemetery Association, c/o Henry Jarvis or the Salvation Army in Memory of David Lewis.

Keith V. Likhite

PLATTSBURGH — Keith Vinay Likhite, 43, of 98 Rugar St., Plattsburgh, died suddenly Sunday, July 24, 2005, in New Mexico after being hit by a train.

He was born Aug. 13, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Drs. Vinay and Fern Likhite. The family relocated to Plattsburgh in 1965. Keith graduated from Rock Point High School in Burlington, Vt., in 1979 and from Maine Central Institute in 1980. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plattsburgh.

Keith enjoyed hiking and camping in the Adirondacks and Southern California, playing with his nephews and nieces and working outdoors. He was a loving and intelligent person who will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Florence Cottrell, of Plattsburgh; his brother, Tony and sister-in-law Alicia of Jericho, Vt., and their daughters, Maryel and Katherine; his sister, Jean Likhite-Koehler and brother-in-law Brett Likhite-Koehler of Keller, Texas, and their sons, Bryce and Braden and daughter Brianna; his brother, Alec and sister-in-law Marisa of Arlington, Mass., and their son Ged and daughter Hazel.

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Dorothy and Jack Frohn of Wisconsin, Keith and Claudia Cottrell of Illinois, Alson and Joy Cottrell of California, Dr. Vilas Likhite of California, Aline Foiret of Paris, France, and Vivek and Diane Likhite of Illinois; as well as 10 cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Arba Barnabas Cottrell; and his paternal grandparents, Dr. Vishwanath and Vimal Likhite.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 31, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Plattsburgh with the Rev. David Wood officiating. The family will receive guests in the Fellowship Hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Keith's memory for a scholarship to Rock Point School, 1 Rock Point Road, Burlington, VT 05401.

Terry R. VanValkenburg Sr.

Plattsburgh — Terry R. VanValkenburg Sr., 52, of Standish Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jan. 24, 1953, the son of Herman and Inez (Nelson) VanValkenburg.

Terry had worked at Don G. Orchards in Peru. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and bingo. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Terry was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Inez VanValkenburg; his brothers, Bill, Pat, Herman, Joe and Melvin VanValkenburg; his sisters, Linda Crowningshield, Mary Martineau and Joyce Peck.

Terry is survived by his wife of 22 years, Rebecca (Harmon) VanValkenburg of Plattsburgh; his children, Terry Jr., Delor, Ricky, Chad and Tracey; his grandchildren, Kailyn, Anthony, Megan, Benjamin and Vincent; his sister, Roxanne Crowningshield; his brothers, Gary and Wayne VanValkenburg; his mother-in-law, Paula Harmon; and several nieces and nephews.

At Terry's request, there will be no calling hours.

A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at 6 p.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church, with the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor, as celebrant.

Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

Marie C. Mousseau

Plattsburgh — Marie C. Mousseau, 87, of Plattsburgh, died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Plattsburgh on March 4, 1918, the daughter of George and Ida (Newell) Mousseau.

She was employed as a domestic cleaner for over 40 years for many families in Plattsburgh. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, the Altar-Rosary Society and the Plattsburgh Senior Citizens Group. Marie loved to play bingo, enjoyed riding her bicycle and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by several nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by five brothers, Raymond, Clarence "Buster," Ralph, Clifford, and an infant brother, Roy Mousseau; and five sisters, Loretta, Clara, Mae, Edith and an infant sister, Blanche.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Anna Campbell-Boyse

Lacolle, Quebec — Anna Campbell-Boyse, 93, wife of the late Sherwood Boyse, mother of Robert, Norma, Winona, Brian (Paula); two grandchildren, Stacy (Jeff) and Shawn (Carla); and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Oddelltown Church, Lacolle, Quebec, at 1 p.m. on July 30, prior to the service at 2 p.m.

Scott E. Colburn, 48, of the South Woods Road, Brushton, N.Y., died at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone on Thursday, July 28, 2005, as a result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born in Malone on Jan. 8, 1957, the son of the late Edward and Elaine (Patnode) Colburn.

Calling hours will be Monday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Church in Fort Covington, with the Rev. Stephen Rocker officiating. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone.

Margaret "Peggy" Ann Brault, 58, of Lecanto, Fla., died on July 20, 2005, at the Hospice Unit of Citrus Memorial Hospital under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Margaret was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jan. 1, 1947, the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine "Pat" (Pattno) Goddeau.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will follow in the family plot of St. James Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
