Clifford E. LaRose
Keene — Clifford
E. LaRose, 77, of Keene, peacefully passed away on July 24, 2005, at
Adirondack Medical Center, Saranac Lake.
Born Sept. 2,
1927, in Port Douglas, he was the son of the late Katherine (Harrigan)
and Medore LaRose.
Clifford was
employed by the Town of Keene for many years. He enjoyed spending time
with family and loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren
grow.
Clifford is
survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Bernadine Bezio LaRose. They
were married on Feb. 14, 1948 at St. John's Church in Keeseville.
Other survivors
include his two sisters, Betty Macey and Dorothy LaRose, both of
Keeseville; his three children, Linda Smith and her husband Roland of
Keene, Clifford LaRose of Lake Placid and Brenda DeMulling and her
husband Michael of Morrisonville; his eight grandchildren, Donald Smith,
Dean Smith, Michele Patnode, Deanna Rasco, Tonya Smith, Ken Silver,
Lance LaRose and Paul LaRose; his seven great-grandchildren, Kyle and
Alexis Smith, Savannah Lucia, Connor Smith, Joshua and Luke Rasco and
Ian Barry; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased
by four brothers and one sister, John LaRose, Donald LaRose, Thomas
LaRose, Henry LaRose and Anna Walker.
He is amongst the
angels now where he deserves to be, watching over his family and loving
them for eternity.
There will be no
calling hours. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 29, 2005, at
10 a.m. at St. John's Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J.
Poissant, pastor. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
The family
requests memorial donations in memory of Clifford E. LaRose be sent to
the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are
being made by Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville.
Francis L. Laventure
PLATTSBURGH —
Francis L. Laventure, 80, of Plattsburgh and formally of Champlain
passed away Friday, July 22, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in
Plattsburgh.
Mr. Laventure was
born Jan. 29, 1925, in Perry's Mills the son of Joseph Leo and Laura
(Baker) Laventure.
He attended local
schools and was employed as a machinist at Harris Graphics in Champlain.
He married Pauline
Seymour, she predeceased him.
Survivors include
one son, Bruce LaVenture and his wife Patricia of Champlain; one
daughter, Barbara (LaVenture) Wehrlin and her husband David of
Plattsburgh; one sister, Irene Duquette of Coopersville; five
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews;
and stepgrandchildren. He is also survived by a brother-in-law and
sister-in-law, Clifton and Muriel Gamache.
Besides his wife,
Mr. Laventure was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Andrus
Laventure; one sister, Bertha LaPine; one grandson, Bruce LaVenture; and
by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Homer and Josephine Gamache.
There will be no
calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July
30, 2005, at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church on Church Street in Champlain.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery on Prospect Street in
Champlain.
In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Skilled Nursing
Facility at CVPH Medical Center, 75 Beekman St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
Arrangements are
with M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.
Kathleen M. Seymour
Plattsburgh —
Mrs. Kathleen M. "Kay" Seymour, 77, of Montcalm Avenue, passed
away Monday, July 25, 2005, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home with
her family by her side.
She was born in
Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Sept. 20, 1927, the daughter of William W. and
Bertha May (Douglas) Guilbo.
Kay enjoyed
playing bingo and spending time with her family. She was a member of St.
Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.
Kay was
predeceased by her parents, William and Bertha May Guilbo; a sister,
Barbara Mason; and a brother, William Guilbo.
She is survived by
her husband of 58 years, Gordon S. Seymour of Plattsburgh; one son,
Thomas M. Seymour of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Deborah Hanewinckel and
her husband Rick of Raleigh, N.C., and Cynthia Stevenson of Delaware; a
brother, Terry Guilbo and his wife Linda of Plattsburgh; her sisters,
Betty Jandreau and her husband Bernard of Peru, Sandra Bezio and her
husband Maurice of Keeseville, Tina Way and her husband Robert of
Keeseville and Joan Miller and her husband Richard of Plattsburgh; a
sister-in-law, Cecile Guilbo of Plattsburgh; eight grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will
be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home,
Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at
10 a.m. from St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow in the family
plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Friends wishing
may make donations to the Kidney Dialysis Unit at the H.K. Freedman
Renal Center in care of the CVPH Medical Center Foundation.
Dorothea A. Brault
Plattsburgh —
Mrs. Dorothea A. "Dot" Brault, 70, of the Tom Miller Road,
passed away unexpectedly, Monday, July 25, 2005, at the CVPH Medical
Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in
Plattsburgh, N.Y., on March 6, 1935, the daughter of Harvey and Clara
(Lasher) Gallant.
Dot had worked for
Dr. Harrell for 33 years and was still working part time at the time of
her death. She was active in many ministries at St. Peter's Church and
served as trustee. She was a member of and had chaired many committees
at St. Peter's Church including the French Festival, the Bishop's Fund
Drive and the Bereavement Ministry. Dot was a member and past president
of the rosary and altar society. Dot enjoyed volunteering, reading,
going to the family cottage at the lake, but mostly spending time with
her children and grandchildren.
She was
predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Clara Gallant; and a sister,
Roslyn Graves.
Dot is survived by
her husband, Ronald B. Brault of Plattsburgh. They were married April
16, 1955, at St. Peter's Church and had celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary this year by renewing their vows.
She is also
survived by two sons, Henry Brault and his wife Johanne of Plattsburgh
and their children, Jason and Alyssa, Randall Brault and his wife Pamela
of Essex, Vt.; two daughters, Peggy DeCelle and her husband Jerry of
Plattsburgh and their son Eric and Julie Fredette and her husband Joseph
of Plattsburgh and their children, Katie, Sara and Alex; two
great-grandchildren, Dilan and Elizabeth Brault; several nieces and
nephews.
Calling hours will
be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home,
Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11
a.m. from St. Peter's Church. Interment will follow in the family plot
at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Friends wishing
may make donations to the North County Mission of Hope or the St.
Peter's Church Gathering Space. Members of the Rosary and Altar Society
of St. Peter's Church are asked to meet Thursday at 3 p.m. for services.
Ruth
Wrisley Williams,
died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at the Orchards Health Center in North
Granville, N.Y.
Ruth was the
daughter of James F. and Mary McCann Wrisley of Lake Placid.
Funeral services
were held on Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Robert King Funeral Home in
Granville, N.Y., and burial was in the family lot in Lake Placid, N.Y.
Joseph
W. Grimshaw, 70,
of Champlain died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center.
Calling hours will
be Thursday, July 28, 2005, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home
in Champlain. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Glenwood Cemetery in
Champlain.
