Edward Wallace
Liberty
Saranac — Edward
Wallace Liberty, 79, of Route 3, Saranac, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at
his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in
Riverview on Oct. 23, 1925, the son of Albert and Eva (Charbonneau)
Liberty.
Edward graduated
from Sallaz Academy in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to
1946. He worked as a correction officer for 30 years and as a school bus
driver for 21 years. He also worked and owned a business with his
partner and longtime friend, Robert LeClair. Edward was a communicant of
the Church of the Assumption and served as a volunteer whenever needed.
Ed enjoyed time spent in his garden and playing pinochle. Family was
first for Edward and he treasured all the time spent with his children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edward is survived
by his wife of 55 years, Ann (Lawton) of Saranac; 12 children, Steven
Liberty and his wife Nancy of Dannemora, Vickie Brown and her husband
John of Rogers, Ark., William Liberty and his wife Darlene of Dannemora,
James Liberty and his wife Barbara of Hollis, N.H., Chris Liberty and
his wife Kay of Saranac, Scott Liberty of Saranac Lake, Tracey Howard
and her husband James of Peru, Jacqueline Coleman and her husband Gerald
of Brainardsville, Lawrence Liberty and his wife Terri of Fairfax, Va.,
Edward Liberty Jr. and his wife Tricia of Saranac, Nanette Aubert and
her husband Gerard of Oak Park, Ill., and Joseph Liberty and his wife
Shantel of Dannemora; two sisters, Marion Allinson and Sandra Ahern of
Saranac: 33 grandchildren, Melissa, Paul, Matthew, Julia, Brandon,
Amanda, Andrew, Katie, Michelle, Michael, Brian, Lynn, Corey, Maris,
Robin, Tim, Jon, Amanda, Kristen, Jesse, Kealy, David, Casey, Shelby,
Stephanie, Alex, Corrina, Carolyn, Jacob, Jason, Michael, Joshua and
Nicholas; nine great-grandchildren, Gavin, Aiden, Asher, Ella, Aislyn,
Grace, Cullen, Liam and Marissa.
He was predeceased
by his parents; and two brothers, Lawrence and Louis Liberty.
Calling hours will
be held Sunday, July 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton
Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated
Monday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Redford
with Rev. Francis J. Coryer, pastor, celebrating and Rev. Philip T.
Allen, pastor of the Holly Name Church in AuSable Forks and St.
Matthew's Church in Black Brook, concelebrating. Burial and military
honors will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of
flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Church of the
Assumption Building Fund.
Lily Mae Marshall
Perry
Peru — Lily Mae
Marshall Perry, 88, formerly of Route 22, Peru, died Friday, July 22,
2005, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.
She was born in
Vile St. Pierre, Quebec, May 11, 1917, the daughter of Samuel and Agnes
Marshall (Drysdale) Smith.
Lily Mae was an
active member of the Peru Community Church and the Peru Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary and a local Girl Scout leader for many years.
Survivors include
two daughters and one son-in-law, Bonnie Perry of Plattsburgh and
Dorothy and Craig Wyman of Peru; two grandchildren, Matthew Furnia and
spouse Lisa of Peru and Jennifer Winter and significant other, Shane
Delarm of Beekmantown; two stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Gosney of
Stormville and Cathy Rhodes and spouse Mike of Anchorage, Alaska;
great-grandchildren, Mikayla Winter, Donya Martell and Ryan Furnia;
stepgreat-grandchildren, Brittany and Laura Gosney and Julia Rhodes; two
sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith and Richard Mackey of Ottawa and
Margaret and Ed Bashaw of Peru; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her parents; and husband Edwin W. Perry, Oct. 6, 1991;
and four sisters, Chrissy Cowie, Janet Mellow, Betty Perry and Mary
Smith.
There will be no
public calling hours. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4
p.m. at the Peru Community Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Svenson, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru.
In lieu of
flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Community
Church Ladies Guild or the Peru Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Michael J.
Dealissia
Chazy Lake —
Michael J. Dealissia, 84, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at the CVPH
Medical Center in Plattsburgh, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in
Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 14, 1920, he was the son of John and Mary
(Ferro) Delessio.
Michael was
called "Poppa" by his family and friends. He was also known to
be No. 1 in all categories. He was a terrific father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
He was a
veteran of World War II and served on the U.S. Lejeune in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the American Legion in Lyon Mountain.
Poppa worked in
New York City as a maintenance foreman for the Department of Traffic
until retiring in 1969.
He enjoyed
operating the Ham radio and formerly owned and operated an electronics
repair shop.
His wife,
Dorothy, died Dec. 22, 2003.
Survivors
include his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Robert Gillette of
Chazy Lake; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Theresa Dealissia of
Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Beatrice Delessio
of Lancaster, Pa.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Reggie
Scuderi of Whitestone, N.Y., Christina Costa of Bronx, N.Y., and Jenny
Corio of Garden City, N.Y.; five grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and
nephews.
Beside his
wife, he is also predeceased by his parents; and two brothers-in-law,
John Costa and Joe Corio.
Calling hours
will be Monday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the E.F. Drown
Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A funeral service will follow at 1
p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. John Looby, pastor
of St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg Depot. Burial will follow at
Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Plattsburgh.
A reception
will be at the home of Beverly and Robert in Chazy Lake after the
committal.
Memorial
donations may be made to the Dannemora Fire and Rescue Squad.
Frances Marion
Brileya
Vergennes, Vt. —
Frances Marion Brileya, 88, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at
the Vergennes Residential Care Home.
She was born in
St. Albans, Vt., on June 24, 1917, the daughter of Alfred and Ethel
(Monty) LaBounty. They moved to upstate New York, where she met and
married her husband Andrew on Dec. 1, 1935. The couple then moved to
Bridport, where they worked on a farm.
She was a member
of St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury, Vt. Frances loved playing bingo
and cards and also enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by
two sons, Robert and his wife Joan of Salem, N.Y., and Andrew of Ware,
Mass.; three daughters, Mary Bishop and her husband Lawrence of
Shoreham, Vt., Shirley Norton and her husband Larry of South Glens
Falls, N.Y., and Linda Benedict and her companion TJ Armstrong of
Champlain, N.Y.; two sisters, Victoria Dyer of Plattsburgh and Joyce
Bushey and her husband Alton, also of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren;
and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also
survived by a special friend of many years, Louise Forgues of Cornwall.
Frances was
predeceased by her husband of 61 years; two brothers, Pascal and Clayton
LaBounty; two sisters, Gladys Pafford and Isabelle Robare; and a
stepgrandson, Jasper Norton.
There are no
calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 25, at
10 a.m. at Lake View Cemetery in Shoreham. Rev. Justin Baker will
officiate.
Arrangements are
under the direction of Sanderson Funeral Home in Middlebury.
Floyd R. Jock,
92, of 392 Scanlon Road, Bombay, died July 21, 2005, at the Highland
Nursing Home in Massena, N.Y., where he had been a resident since March
9.
He was born in
Bombay, N.Y., on May 7, 1913, the son of the late George and Clara (Eddicus)
Jock.
Calling hours will
be in the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Homo in Fort
Covington, N.Y., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's
Church in Bombay, with the Rev. Stephen Rocker, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Brushton.
Percy J. Dumas,
96, of West Bangor, N.Y., died July 22, 2005, at the Franklin County
Nursing Home, in Malone, N.Y. She had been a resident there since Dec.
11, 2001.
He was born in
Malone, N.Y., on May 10, 1909, the son of the late Marshall and Jenny
(Robinson) Dumas.
Calling hours will
be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in
Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30
a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in North Bangor. Burial will be in St.
Augustine's Cemetery.
Linda Chilton
Pomerance, 60, died
July 21, 2005, at her home in Pasadena, Calif.
She is the
daughter of Alba Chilton.
A memorial service
will be held Aug. 7 in Pasadena.
