Margaret O’Donnell

Rockville, Conn. — Margaret O’Donnell, 75, formerly of Ellenburg Center, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Rockville Hospital, Rockville, Conn.

Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on July 18, 1929, she was the daughter of Walter and Madora (O’Connor) Rubado.

She was married to John K. O’Donnell on July 22, 1950 in St. John’s Church, Plattsburgh. He predeceased her on May 16, 2004.

Mrs. O’Donnell is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Peter Ignatowicz of Vernon, Conn.; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Rebecca O’Donnell of Oakfield, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Shane Dunn of Bennington, Vt., Shannon Dunn of Gautier, Miss., John E. O’Donnell of USS San Juan, Groton, Conn., Jennifer Ignatowicz of Vernon, Conn., Patrick O’Donnell of Oakfield, N.Y., and Darren and his wife Alicia Ignatowicz of Enfield, Conn.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Gladys Rubado; a sister, Alice Jane Trombley and a brother, Raymond Rubado.

Mrs. O’Donnell was employed as a payroll accountant at CVPH Medical Center until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Edmund’s Church, Ellenburg and attended Sacred Heart Church, Vernon, Conn.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. only.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 18, in St. Edmund’s Church, Ellenburg, with the Rev. John Looby officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Donations in her memory may be made to Riverside Cemetery, Ellenburg Center or St. Edmund’s Church, Ellenburg.

Mabel Patricia (Greenway) Axtell

FLORIDA /UPPER JAY — Mabel Patricia (Greenway) Axtell, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at her son’s home in Upper Jay, N.Y. She was born on March 7, 1919, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, to William and Hazel (Dines) Greenway.

Mabel married David Webster Axtell in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada. They lived in Boston and Milton, Mass., Deerfield, N.H., and Belleair, Fla. She recently moved to Lake Worth, Fla., to be with her daughter and family and spent summers in Upper Jay, N.Y., with her son’s family.

Left with wonderful memories are one son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Jean (Vincent) Axtell of Upper Jay; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Michael Proctor of Lake Worth, Fla.; three grandsons, Michael David Proctor and fiancée Michele Vernese of Ft. Pierce, Fla., William Hale Axtell and David Webster Axtell of Upper Jay; one granddaughter, Donna M. (Missy) Proctor and her husband, Savoy Barryman, of Rivera Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Elaine Breitkreutz and Louise Steer of British Columbia, and Myrtle Sannes of Saskatchewan, Canada; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband, David Webster Axtell; and two brothers, Keith Greenway and Sidney Greenway.

Services will be private.

Walter W. Ubl Sr., 87, formerly of 79 Boynton Ave., Plattsburgh, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at the Veterans Medical Center in Albany

He was born in New York City on Nov. 14, 1917, the son of Walter and Mary (Krass) Ubl.

Arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Calling hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 and 9 p.m. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
