Linda A. Justus
PLATTSBURGH —
Linda A. Justus, 63, of Bordeau Road, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at
the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, surrounded by her loving family
and friends.
She was born on
April 8, 1942 in Plattsburgh, the daughter of George and Bertha (Reil)
Ducatte.
Linda was a
wonderful mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her
grandchildren. She loved animals and crafts.
Survivors include
two loving daughters, Penny and Scott Bair of Plattsburgh and Melanie
and Rodney Draper of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Maidge and Donald Hewson
of Plattsburgh and Brenda and James Stockdale of Plattsburgh; one
brother, Larry Ducatte of Plattsburgh; eight grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a close personal
friend, Forrest Tucker of Morrisonville.
She was
predeceased by one brother, Alvin Ducatte; and two sisters, Gloria
Collins and Adrieth Daily.
Calling hours will
be held on Sunday, July 10, 2005, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the R.W. Walker
Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
A funeral service
will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will
follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Catherine E.
Delorm
MORRISONVILLE —
Catherine E. Delorm, 81, formerly of Rand Hill Road, died Thursday, July
7, 2005 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.
She was born in
Port Kent, N.Y., on Aug. 8, 1923, the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth
(Webb) Ladue.
Catherine married
Donald Delorm in Port Kent on Nov. 2, 1947. Donald died July 13, 1996.
Kay and her
husband, Don, owned and operated Delorm’s Store in West Plattsburgh.
Trained as a registered nurse, Kay’s customer service often included
giving allergy shots and injections and blood pressure checks while also
running the store.
Mrs. Delorm was an
active member of St. Alexander’s Church where she belonged to the
Altar Rosary Society and the Mother’s Club.
Kay provided
countless hours of volunteer services to Birthright and the
Morrisonville Emergency Squad, where she consistently had more call
responses than any other member. She received several community awards
including the EMS Provider of the Year Award for 1996 by the Clinton
County Firemen’s Association and the New York State Regional Emergency
Medical Technician Award in 1997.
Kay’s hobbies
included bowling, where she and her husband, Don, belonged to several
bowling leagues.
Survivors include
one son, Thomas and Sally Delorm of Lilburn, Ga.; three daughters, Susan
and Peter Buak of Clarkesville, Ga., Deborah Jurado of Tucker, Ga., and
Laurie and Denis Ryan of Congers, N.Y.; one very special niece,
"adopted daughter" Sandra Tavernia and her husband Bernard;
one foster son, Lawrence "Jimmy" and Maryann Recor of
Boonville, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Donague, Margaret Sherman and
Patricia Welch; and one brother, Robert Ladue.
Calling hours will
be held on Sunday, July 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W.
Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
A Mass of
Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Alexander’s
Church in Morrisonville.
Burial will follow
in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations
may be made to St. Alexander’s Memorial Fund or Birthright.
Ethel M. Haley
Plattsburgh —
Ethel M. Haley, 97, passed away peacefully July 7, 2005, at her home
with her family by her side. Ethel was born April 29, 1908, in North
Bangor, N.Y. She moved to Plattsburgh as a young woman and later married
John C. Haley on Aug. 6, 1927.
She worked at
CVPH Hospital for 19 years until her retirement in 1976. She was a very
elegant and independent woman her entire life. Ethel touched the hearts
of all those who knew her and left behind a legacy of maintaining a
positive outlook, being happy and above all, loving one another. Her
hobbies included cooking, crocheting and spending quality time with her
family and friends. She also enjoyed caring for her birds and her dog
"Lady."
She is survived
by her loving son, Joseph L. Haley of Severn, Md.; five granddaughters,
Kathy Burke, Tammy Vashon, Debbie Haley, Jenny Duckworth-Blaha and Lisa
Haley-Ratsch; one grandson, Chris Haley; nine great-grandchildren; and
one great-great-grandson, Jack.
Ethel was
predeceased by her daughter, Connie Duckworth; her son, John C. Haley;
and two grandchildren, Mary E. Duckworth and John A. Haley.
A memorial
service will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
Burial will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens.
Memorial
donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
Arrangements
are being handled by Brown Funeral Home.
Thomas J. Ashline
CHAMPLAIN —
Thomas J. Ashline passed away peacefully on July 6, 2005, in his home in
Champlain at the age of 40.
Tom was born in
Plattsburgh, N.Y., on April 12, 1965, the son of Marie H. Ashline.
He is survived by
his mother, Marie Ashline of Rouses Point; uncles, Donald (Frank) and
Betty Ashline of Mooers, Gary and Linda Ashline of Florida, and David
and Joyce Ashline of Wingdale, N.Y.; aunts, Mary Oakes of Rouses Point,
Bertha Bushey of Plattsburgh, Gladys Boulence of Mooers and Margaret
King of Chazy Lake; and last but not least, many cousins and true
friends.
Tom was
predeceased by his grandparents, Peter and Vivian Ashline.
He was a graduate
of Northeastern Clinton Central School in 1983. He was employed at
Fujitsu in Plattsburgh as a quality assurance inspector. Tom was a fair
and loyal man who treasured his close friends. He loved hunting,
fishing, camping, skiing, music, movies and spending time with his
friends. Thomas touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who
know him.

be held on Sunday, July 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at M.B. Clark
Funeral Home, 196 Elm St., in Champlain. A funeral service will be held
on Monday, July 11, at 11 a.m. in the M.B. Clark Funeral Home,
Champlain. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery on Church
Street in Rouses Point.
Arnold P. Burdeau
Plattsburgh —
Arnold P. Burdeau, 45, of Johnson Avenue, passed away Thursday, July 7,
2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in
Plattsburgh on June 1, 1960, son of Arnold P. and Pearl (Decker) Burdeau.
Arnold was a
graduate of Plattsburgh High School in 1978. He entered the U.S. Air
Force in 1978, retiring in 1992. Arnold received numerous commendations
and awards, including the National Defense Service Medal and the
Humanitarian Service Medal. He cared deeply for his family, never
forgetting a special occasion. Arnold was a collector of stamps and an
avid fan of Star Trek. His honesty and integrity was a guide for his
life.
Arnold is survived
by his parents, Arnold and Pearl Burdeau of Plattsburgh; three siblings,
his sister, Dauna L. Overly of Manitou Springs, Colo., and her children,
Shauna of Pennsylvania, Danielle of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his
brother, Stephen and wife Kari Burdeau and their children, Jimmy and
Helen of Phoenixville, Pa., his brother, Michael L. Burdeau and his
children, Melanie and Aaron of’ Saranac Lake, N.Y.; one great-nephew;
one great-niece; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will
be held Sunday, July 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in
Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July
11, at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial
will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
Pierre
"Pete" LaClair,
95, formerly of Churubusco and Burke, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at
Franklin County Nursing Home, Malone.
Calling hours will
be Sunday, July 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chateaugay
Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be Monday, July 11, at 11 a.m. in St.
George’s Church, Burke, with the Rev. John Demo officiating. Burial
will follow at Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Churubusco.

Margo E. Cook,
59, of South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, died Friday, July 8, 2005,
at her home.
She was born in
Watertown, N.Y., on Dec. 23, 1945, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy
(Cole) Bennett.
