Steven R. Symonds
Vermontville —
Steven R. Symonds, 52, of 88 Sink Hole Road, Vermontville, died
Thursday, June 30, 2005, at his home following a brief illness.
Born in Saranac
Lake, N.Y., on April 9, 1953, he was the son of lsabelle (Tucker)
Mosher.
Mr. Symonds was a
life long resident of the Tri-Lakes area. He had worked for various area
businesses including Norman's Store in Bloomingdale; he owned and
operated Steve’s Prime Cuts in Charlie Green's Grocery Market; Rich
Plan, Bouyea-Fassett's and Grand Union. He was currently working at Tops
in Saranac Lake as the meat department manager.
Mr. Symonds served
as a member of St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale. He was a member of the
Knights of Columbus Council 7803 and was a past grand knight. He was
also a troop leader for many years for Boy Scouts of America Troop 19.
He greatly enjoyed camping and fishing in the Adirondacks.
He is survived by
two sons Cameron Symonds of Nashua, N.H., and Patrick Symonds of Tupper
Lake, N.Y.; one daughter, Brianne Symonds of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; one
grandson, Dawson Symonds; his mother, Isabelle Mosher of Saranac Lake,
N.Y.; his former wife, Debra Lancor of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; four sisters,
Gale Chauvin of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Sheila Elsenbeck of Saranac Lake,
N.Y., Doris Spencer of Gabriels, N.Y., and Joan Blue of Gabriels, N.Y.;
four brothers, Kenny Symonds of Gabriels, N.Y., Kevin Symonds of Saranac
Lake, N.Y., Tuffield Symonds of Tennessee and Robert Symonds of Saranac
Lake, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will
take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil service with the Knights of Columbus will take
place at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday evening. A Mass of Christian burial will
take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale
with the Rev. Patrick Mundy officiating. Burial will follow at Union
Cemetery in Vermontville.
Friends wishing to
remember Steven R. Symonds may make memorial contributions to High Peaks
Hospice or American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
Clarence Roger Bradley
CUMBERLAND HEAD
— Clarence Roger Bradley, 80, of Cumberland Head Road, died Monday,
July 4, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in
Beekmantown, N.Y., on Sept. 16, 1924, the son of Charles and Sadie Thew
(Guynup) Bradley.
Clarence married
Hazel Dapo on Feb. 3, 1951, at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh.
Hazel died March 12, 1994.
He was a member of
St. Mary's of the Lake Church. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 125, the Armed Forces Association and the Air Force
Sergeants Association.
Mr. Bradley
entered the United States Air Force in 1947. He was an engineer for the
U.S. Air Force and a Propulsion Specialist working first with B-52
Bombers and later with Atlas Missiles with the Plattsburgh Air Force
Base. His last posting was at Vandenberg Air Force Base working with
Titan Missiles, retiring in 1968.
Survivors include
five children, Charles and Dora Bradley of Chazy, Patricia Bradley of
Plattsburgh, Steven and Pat Bradley of Temple, Texas, Jeanne and Alton
Stevens of Plattsburgh and Sandra Bradley of Plattsburgh; one
sister-in-law, Ethel Hawxhurst of Plattsburgh; 13 grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Beverly
Ripley of Argyle, N.Y.
He was predeceased
by two sisters, Mabel Moore and E. Mildred Bradley; and two brothers,
Horace Bradley and Morris Bradley.
Calling hours will
be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral
Home in Plattsburgh.
A funeral service
will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Lake Church on
Cumberland Head. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial
donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
Blanche E. Girard
North Wallingford,
Conn. — Blanche E. (Racine) Girard, 83, beloved wife of the late
Anthony Girard of North Wallingford, Conn., died Wednesday, June 29,
2005, at the Regency House in Wallingford, Conn.
She was born in
Lacolle, Quebec on June 14, 1922, daughter of the late Ulric and
Blandine Deneault Racine. Blanche was employed by the Phelps Company for
many years until her retirement in 1984 and was a parishioner of Our
Lady of Fatima Church in Yalesville, Conn.
She is survived by
her two sons, Daniel A. Girard of Meriden, Conn., and Robert J. Girard
of Wallingford, Conn.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her three brothers, George Racine and Maurice
Racine of Champlain, N.Y., and Roland Racine of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; two
sisters, Irene Tetreault of Rouses Point, N.Y., and Loretta Favreau of
Florida.
She was
predeceased by two sisters, Bertha Robinson and Claire Tetreault; and
four brothers, Arthur, Allyre, Alfred and Rene Racine.
A Mass of
Christian burial was celebrated on July 6, 2005, at the Our Lady of
Fatima Church, Wallingford, Conn. Interment was at the St. John
Cemetery.

flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association,
South Central Connecticut, Dixwell Ave., Hamden CT 06518.
Lulu Brown
KEENE VALLEY —
Lulu (Freydberg) Brown, 103, of Keene Valley died Monday, July 4 in
Plattsburgh, N.Y.
She was born March
23, 1902 in Granville, N.Y., the daughter of Moses and Pauline (Adelson)
Freydberg.
Lu was an
inspiration behind the honorary chariperson of the East Branch Friends
of the Arts. She received her teaching certificate for music from NYU
and graduated from Potsdam Normal School in 1921. She taught at Keene
Central School for 43 years, retiring in 1964.
She was the choir
director and played organ at the Keene Valley Congregational Church for
many years.
She was a member
of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Keene Valley Congregational
Church and ran many musical shows.
Lu was very active
in the community.
She is survived by
one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Gus Knight of Chester, N.J. and
several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service
will be held Thursday, July 7, at 10 a.m. at the Keene Valley
Congregational Church.

France B. Earle
KEESEVILLE —
France B. Earle, 84, of 69 Clinton St., Keeseville, N.Y. and formerly of
North Bangor, N.Y. died early Sunday morning, July 3, 2005, at the Alice
Hyde Nursing Home in Malone, N.Y. She had been a resident there since
May 4.
Born in Peru, N.Y.
March 24, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine
Stone Booth. She graduated from Keeseville Central High School.
On October 27,
1941, she was united in marriage to Sherman "Pete" Barber. He
predeceased her on Dec. 19, 1970. On July 10, 1971 she was united in
marriage to John E. Earle. He survives.
Many years ago,
France worked as a waitress. She later was a homemaker and mother.
She enjoyed golf,
bowling, and flower gardening. She was a past member of the Keeseville
Ladies of the Elk Lodge and the Keeseville Women’s Bowling League.
Survivors include
her husband, John of North Bangor; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan
and Robert LaFountain of Keeseville and Bonnie Guerin of the Cedar Hedge
Nursing Home in Rouses Point, N.Y.; one sister and a brother-in-law
Beverly and Francis Covel of Loudon, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Tammy
and her husband, Merrill Reynolds of North Bangor, Tim LaFountain and
his wife, Bonnie, of Keeseville, Shawn LaFountain and his wife, Molly,
of Keeseville, and Kevin Guerin of Albany, N.Y.; five
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her
parents and first husband, she was predeceased by three brothers; James,
William and Stanford Booth; one sister, Thelma Baillargeon and one
grandson, Todd LaFountain in 1965.
There are no
calling hours. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at
St. John’s Cemetery in Keeseville, N.Y. with the Rev. Msgr. Joseph
Aubin officiating.
Donations may be
made in her memory to the Alice Hyde Medical Center Development Fund.

through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone, N.Y.
Browne
Morgan Littell,
66, of 7 Fells Road, Falmouth, Mass., died Tuesday, July 5, 2005.
He was born in
Newark, N.J., on Aug. 3, 1938, the son of the Rev. F. Joseph and Alice
(Morgan) Littell.

incomplete with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
Terry
L. Tuper Sr.,
47, of Academy Street, Malone, N.Y., died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at the
Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, NY., where he was admitted on July
4.
Born in Malone,
April 10, 1958, he was the son of Clayton and Mary Lou Brady Tuper Sr.
Calling hours will
be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in
Malone.
A funeral service
will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sister Mary
Hallahan, OSU, officiating. Burial will be in the new St. Mary's
Cemetery in Fort Covington.
Sharon
A Rust, 47, of
Malone, N.Y., died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Health Care,
Burlington, Vt.
She was born in
Malone, N.Y., on Jan. 31, 1958, the daughter of Elmer and Dora (Rock)
Humiston.
Prayer service
will be Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m. in the Chateaugay Funeral Home with
the Rev. John Demo of St. Patrick’s Church officiating, the family
will greet friends and family half hour prior to the service. Burial
will be private at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
