Constance K. Hayden
PLATTSBURGH
— Constance K. Hayden, 91, of Victoria House, passed away on Sunday,
June 19, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born
in Plattsburgh on Dec. 30, 1913, daughter of the late Cornelius and Ann
(Mahoney) Kearney. Constance was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School,
Plattsburgh Normal School and SUNY Plattsburgh. She married Charles G.
Hayden on Nov. 13, 1941; he predeceased her in 1993.
Constance
taught school in Westport, Malone and for 26 years at Broad Street
Elementary School in Plattsburgh, retiring in 1976. She was a member of
St. John’s Parish, New York State Retired Teacher’s Association,
CVPH Medical Auxiliary, a life member of PSUC Alumni Association and
Catholic Daughters of America.
Constance was
an avid reader, a devotee of crosswords and loved to play cards,
especially bridge and rummy with her friends at Victoria House.
She is
survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Barbara Hayden of
Plattsburgh; a daughter, Elizabeth Hayden of Miami, Fla.; two
grandchildren, Ryan and Jenna Hayden of Plattsburgh; a niece, Karen
Hotaling of Salem, N.H.; and a nephew, Kevin Kearney of Sanford,
Michigan.
Constance was
pre-deceased by a brother, Kenneth Kearney.
There will be
no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 1 p.m. today, June 20, 2005, from St. John’s Church in
Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Constance’s memory may be made to Plattsburgh Public Library.
