Bryan Scott Young

EAST ISLIP — Bryan Scott Young, of East Islip, N.Y., died on May 31, 2005.

Bryan was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug. 7, 1959. Loving son of Wayne and Ramona Young. Dear brother of Shelley Lindsay of Temple, N.H., Jeff Young of Islip Terrace, N.Y., and Heather Sweeney of Amherst, N.H. Beloved soul mate of Sue Greenli.

Bryan lived on Long Island most of his life and was loved by his many friends and relatives. Bryan lived life to the fullest and enjoyed boating, motorcycling and helping people in need.

Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey and Sons West Islip Funeral Home, 1225 Montauk Highway. (1/4 mile west of Robert Moses Crossways.). Funeral service to be held Friday, 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Cremation to follow. Bryan's cremated remains will be put to rest at a later date in Willsboro, N.Y., in June. Visiting Thursday 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be made in memory of Bryan to Habitat for Humanity.

A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Willsboro, N.Y., on Sunday, June 19, 2005, at 3 p.m.

Beverly Ann Davis

Westport — Beverly Ann "Bev" Davis, 60, of the Stevenson Road, Westport, N.Y., died Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at her home.

She was born in Newport, N.H., June 10, 1944, the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Goodell) Caron.

Bev graduated from Towle High School in Newport, N.H., in 1963. She was employed at Treadwell Estate in Westport. Bev was a very active member of the Westport Federated Church and was always willing to assist young and old in time of need. She enjoyed her home and loved children especially her two grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered as a caring and compassionate person. She will be missed greatly.

Survivors include her husband, Carl L. Davis of Westport; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Gary Reynolds of Westport; two grandchildren, Garrett and Renee Reynolds; six sisters and spouses, Patty and Albert Ash, Janet and Bratan Robillard, Connie Caron, Nancy Santti and David Daniels, Mary and Frank Boutwell and Loretta and Cary Whipple all of New Hampshire; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a son, Scott B. Davis; four brothers, Arthur Jr., Robert, Allen and Philip Caron; and a sister, Marilyn Hooper.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 6, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Westport Federated Church with the Rev. Arthur Goyette, pastor, officiating.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Westport Federated Church or the Westport Ambulance Squad.

Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport.

John A. Johnson

Plattsburgh — John A. Johnson Sr., 70, of South Peru Street, died unexpectedly at his home on June 1, 2005.

He was born in Champlain, N.Y., on March 12, 1935, son of the late Herbert W. and Alyce (Brouillette) Johnson of Champlain.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring from the United States Post Office in 1990. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 in Plattsburgh and a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh.

Survivors include his wife, Jean A. (Phifer); one daughter, Jocelyn "Jollie" A. Johnson of Morrisonville; two sons, John A. Johnson Jr. of Bellows Falls, Vt., Jerome A. Johnson of Plattsburgh; three grandchildren, Carrie E., Amanda L. and Jessica A.; one great-grandchild, Madison Rose; five brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert (Doris) Johnson of Round Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard (Barbara) Johnson of Hartley, Del., Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Rita) Johnson of Morrisonville, William Johnson of Champlain; one sister-in-law, Cora Johnson of Altona; and many nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his brothers, Lawrence T. Johnson and Gerald Johnson; and his sister, Bernice Jaramillo.

Calling hours will be Friday, June 3, 2005, from 11 to 1:45 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 3, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh.

Donations in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Victory Parish.

Frieda DuBrey Walker

BEEKMANTOWN — Frieda DuBrey Walker, 90, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born, in Chazy Lake, N.Y., on Dec. 21, 1914, the daughter of Adeline and Silas DuBrey.

After graduating from St. Mary's High School Frieda taught the blind for New York state. She was a traveling companion for a blind woman during which time she had the opportunity to meet Helen Keller. She was married to Stephen S. Walker a career military man. This afforded opportunity for travel but was an obstacle for a career. She eventually retired from retail. After her return to Plattsburgh she became a proud volunteer for the local historical society. She also was a member of the RSVP where she enjoyed playing bridge. Frieda was a member of St. Peter's.

Survivors include two daughters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and William Zambriski and Patricia and David Konachik; one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Anne Walker; three sisters, Madeline Coates, Yvonne DuBrey and Theresa Root; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, Silas and Adeline DuBrey; her husband, Stephen S. Walker; a son, Melvin; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Barbara Jane; three sisters, Amelia DuBrey, Dorothea McGarvey and Venetta Sebast; two brothers, Louis and Archie DuBrey.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in the chapel of St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in Long Island National Cemetery.

Allen — Dr. Jonathan M. Allen, 82, of University Place, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1922.

Arrangements are incomplete with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
