Published: 5/28/05James D. LareauPlattsburgh — James D. Lareau, 66, of 26 Sorrell Ave., died Friday, May 27, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Keeseville on July 25, 1938, the son of Dennis and Amanda (Garcia) Lareau. James retired from AmeriGas after many years of service. He then started to work part time for JCEO Head Start, driving bus; he loved working with the children up until the time of his illness. James was a member of the Keeseville Fire Department for 20 years. Survivors include his children, Sandy and David Douglas, Cynthia and Larry Arno, George and Rita Taylor, Gary and Candy Taylor, Brenda Moore, Ronald Taylor, Dennis and Crystal Taylor, Jack and Debbie Taylor, Ricky Taylor and his companion Becky Tenney; two brothers-in-law, Harvey Blanchard and Kenny Beyer; one uncle, Leonard Lareau; three aunts, Florence Booth, Virginia Garcia and Anita Harper; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Taylor Lareau; two sisters, Barbara J. Beyer and Verlie J. Blanchard; and one brother, Norman Lareau. Calling hours will be held Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery. Anne M. MousseauAuSable Forks — Anne M. Mousseau, 83, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at her home in AuSable Forks. She was born Nov. 24, 1921, in AuSable Forks, the daughter of Albert and Leah (Betters) Mousseau. She graduated from Holy Name School in AuSable Forks in 1935. She graduated from AuSable Forks Central Rural School in 1939. She worked at Holy Name School as a secretary for many years. She worked for many years at the AuSable Valley Telephone Office. She was a secretary for Dr. John Spranz for 24 years. She also worked for Dr. Richard Bremer for 14 years as a secretary. Anne retired in 1989 due to illness. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a member of Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks. She was a member of the senior citizens of AuSable Forks. She loved playing golf, tennis and loved watching Cardinals. Survivors include one sister, Alma Nugent of AuSable Forks; one nephew and his wife, Michael and Nancy Nugent of AuSable Forks; one niece, Joanne Nugent of Watertown, N.Y.; a loyal friend and caregiver, Beverly Dalton of Watertown. She is also survived by many friends in the area. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. A funeral will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in AuSable Forks. Memorials may be made to the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Norman L. BernardLatham, N.Y. — Norman L. Bernard, 84, of Latham, beloved husband for 59 years to Elvira Ventrella Bernard, died Thursday night, May 26, 2005, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. Mr. Bernard was born in Jay, Maine, the son of the late Arthur and Irma (Samson) Bernard. He graduated from Livermore Falls High School in Livermore Falls, Maine, and earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Clark University in Worcester, Mass. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and retired from International Paper Company in Corinth in 1982, after 37 years of service as personnel manager. Mr. Bernard was a resident of Latham since 1985, where he was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham, the Colonie Elk’s Lodge 2192 and the Latham Senior Citizens Bowling League. In addition to his beloved wife Elvira, he is also survived by his loving children, Norma Zambardino and her husband James of Latham, Arthur Bernard and his wife Thespina of Bernardsville, N.J., and Mary Haley and her husband Mark of Plattsburgh, N.Y. He is also survived by his six cherished grandchildren, James Zambardino, Amy Zambardino, Alexander Bernard, Jennifer Bernard, Michael Haley and Daniel Haley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 29, at 8 p.m. in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls, Maine. Elizabeth A. Bell, 77, of Bridge Street died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Philadelphia on Aug. 29, 1927, the daughter of Wilson and Lillian (Smith) White. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 31 at 11:15 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Debra A. Wood, 48, of Filion Lane, Champlain, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at her home. She was born on July 18, 1956. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 31, from noon to 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Champlain. Barbara Dixon, 64, of the Goodman Road, Malone, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Hernando Pasco Hospice Health Center, Dade City, Fla. Arrangements through the Chateaugay Funeral Home are incomplete pending arrival of the family. |
