Published: 5/25/05George Harry ParotMiddlebury, Vt. — George Harry Parot, 81, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at his home in Middlebury, Vt. He was born in South Hero, Vt., on June 22, 1923, the son of the late George Joseph and Ellen Parot. George attended South Hero High School and later joined the U.S. Army during World War II under the command of General George Patton's 3rd Army in the European Theater of Operations. During his service in the Army, he received the Sharpshooter Medal, the European Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Victory Medal and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5802 in Mineville, N.Y., and the American Legion Post 1403 in Crown Point, N.Y. George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane (Parks) Parot of Middlebury; two sons, Larry Parot and his wife Denise of Coconut Creek, Fla., and David Parot and his wife Lori of Port Orange, Fla.; two grandsons, Brian and Shawn Parot of Port Orange, Fla.; one granddaughter, Allison Parot of Port Orange, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Carl, Merville and Maurice; and by his three sisters, Florence, Edna and Dorothy. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday. May 27, at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in South Hero, Vt. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Essex. Visiting hours will be Thursday, May 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski, Vt. Helen M. Disotelle, 94, a resident of the Highland Nursing Home in Massena, N.Y., since September 2004, died Monday, May 23, 2005, at the Massena Memorial Hospital in Massena. Prior to entering the nursing home, Helen was a resident of the Farrar Home in Malone and a resident of WhippleviIle, N.Y. She was born in Whippleville on May 21, 1911, the daughter of the late Jerry and Leah (Elderbaum) Marlow. Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 10 a.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone. Ellenor S. (Burgher) VanBramer, 82, formerly of 19 Riverside Drive, Saranac Lake, died Friday, May 6, 2005, in Florida. Ellenor was born in Rochester, N.Y., on Sept. 20, 1922. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer, pastor of St. Bernard’s Church, officiating. LEON ROBINSON, 93, of Champlain died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A full obituary will appear in Thursday’s Press-Republican. DEBORAH LYNN TURNER, 45, of Mooers died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 30 at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point at a time to be announced in a full obituary in Thursday’s Press-Republican. |
