Published: 5/20/05Shirley Dorothy "Dot" LaCountMooers — Shirley Dorothy "Dot" LaCount, 69, of Mooers, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1936, in Ellenburg, the daughter of the late Raymond and Roxie Cayea. She worked at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home for 16 years and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1418 for eight years. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Dot was a member of the VFW Post 1418 Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Joseph LaCount; three brothers, Edward, Richard and Loyal Cayea; and a sister, Theresa Harris. Survivors include her husband, Henry LaCount; two daughters, Betty Hebert of Mooers and Janet Hemingway of Mooers; a daughter-in-law, Barbara LaBombard and her husband Brian LaBombard; a sister-in-law, Leila Cayea of Ellenburg; nine grandchildren, Jason, Derek and Shana Hebert, Jamie Hemingway and his spouse Christina, Pam LaPlant and her husband Donn, John Hemingway, Joseph, Lyndon and Cherish LaBombard; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Millie Willette of Rouses Point; a sister-in-law, Kathy Cayea of Champlain; and many nieces and nephews. At her request, there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. A reception will follow the Mass at the VFW in Champlain. Food donations may go directly to the VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anne's Shrine in Isle La Motte, Vt., St. Mary's Church in Champlain, or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. James C. Brady, 72, of Westville, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Malone, N.Y., on Nov. 14, 1932, the son of Chester and Marion (Robinson) Brady. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Flynn of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Constable, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Charles R. Lucia Sr., of Hetcheltown Road, Glenville, N.Y., died May 10, 2005, at Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia, N.Y. He was born in Chazy, N.Y. Calling hours were held at the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, Ballston Lake, N.Y. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Chazy, on May 13. Richard Clifton Fountain died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home where he had been a resident since 2001. He was the son of Peter and Elizabeth Fountain. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Constable with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Arrangements are through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home. Timothy W. LaFrance, 46, of Route 11, Brushton, N.Y., died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home in Malone, N.Y. He had been a resident there since Dec. 13, 2001. He was born in Potsdam, N.Y., April 23, 1959, the son of the late Joseph and Jean (Chaffee) LaFrance. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Forest Cemetery in St. Regis Falls, N.Y., with the the Rev. Michael Foreman officiating. Arrangements are through the Anderson Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, N.Y. H. Cecilia Bouvier, 92, of Liverpool, N.Y., formerly of Malone, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Birchwood Healthcare Facility in Liverpool. She was born in Churubusco, N.Y., on Feb. 19, 1913, the daughter of William and Lucy (Furness) Recore. Calling hours will be at St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday in Notre Dame Church, Malone. Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery. Lyndon S. Crady, 63, died at his home with his wife by his side on May 18, 2005. He was born in Burlington, Vt., on Sept. 7, 1941. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the St. Rose of Lima Church, South Hero, Vt., on June 4 at 11 a.m., with a reception following at his home at 59 Telegraph Road, Peru, N.Y., around 1 p.m. Arrangements are by Boucher & Pritchard, 85 No. Winooski Ave., Burlington, VT 05401. |
