Published: 5/11/05Patricia M. King RockwellJUPITER, FLA. — Patricia M. King Rockwell, 79, of Jupiter, Fla., passed away on May 7, 2005, at the Hospice Hospital in Palm Beach, Fla. Mrs. Rockwell was a northern New York native, and has been a resident of Florida since 1975. She was born on Nov. 20, 1925, in Chazy Lake, N.Y., the daughter of the late Howard and Delia (Hayes) King. Her husband, Burton Rockwell preceded her in death. Mrs. Rockwell graduated from Lyon Mountain High School. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh, she also owned the popular restaurant, "Pat's Hot Dog Stand" in Chazy Lake and became an institution in the restaurant business in northern New York and the Miami, Fla., area. She had also been an employee of the Mold-Rite Industries in Plattsburgh. She was an avid Bingo player and loved travel via cruise ships to Caribbean destinations. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Jeanne Troutman and her husband Derl of Cambridge, Ohio, Mrs. Theresa Senecal and her husband Don of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Mrs. Joyce LaVigne and her husband Robert of Lyon Mountain, N.Y.; one brother, Mr. Howard King Jr. and his wife Marion of Chazy Lake, N.Y.; and numerous nephews and nieces, including Mrs. Jane Rockwell and her husband Donn of Jupiter, Fla., and Mr. Ronald Rockwell of Lakeworth, Fla. Mrs. Rockwell's remains will be entered into eternal rest at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Cemetery in Lyon Mountain and a memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of PBC, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL, 33407. Jane J. TobinMorrisonville — Jane J. Tobin, 83, died Monday, May 9, 2005, at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid where she was a resident. She was born in Lyon Mountain on March 21, 1922, the daughter of Ernest and Ruth (Doland) Jette. She graduated from Lyon Mountain High School in 1939, and attended nursing school at Media Hospital. From 1945 to 1955 she entered the Servants of Mary Convent in Nebraska and after her vows became Sister Mary Bernardi Jette. She worked for Dr. Pearson, the Department of Social Services Clinton County Mental Health and St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center retiring in 1987. She volunteered for Hospice, STOP Domestic Violence and Meadowbrook Healthcare. She most loved being a grandma and great-grandma. She is survived by two sons, Joe and Grace Tobin of Humble, Texas, and Gene Tobin and his girlfriend Dale Lynch of Deerfield, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bob Pellerin of Saranac Lake; five grandchildren, Jamie and Bryan Stearns of Loon Lake, Heidi Pellerin and boyfriend Bill Duffany of Plattsburgh, Jennie and Jordan Tobin of Humble, Texas, Michael Gay and Kailee Coffin of Deerfield; two great-grandsons, Taylor Pellerin of Saranac Lake and Orion Stearns of Port Kent; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Martin Conway Tobin, whom she married Aug. 17, 1957, died Sep. 1, 1975; three brothers, Bill, Sammy and Eugene Jette, who died during the Korean Conflict, also predeceased her. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. James Church in Cadyville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Morrisonville Fire and Rescue Squad. Bruce N. DavisonMooers Forks — Bruce N. Davison, 63, of Bush Road, Mooers Forks, died Monday, May 9, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Mooers Forks on Oct. 26, 1941, the son of Norman E. and Leona (Lafountain) Davison. He was employed in construction for many years and was a member of Local 186 in Plattsburgh. He enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed walking fox hounds and hunting. He is survived by his wife Marcia (Westcott) Davison; his mother, Leona Davison of Mooers Forks; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Brent and Nikki Davison of Plattsburgh, Brad Davison of Plattsburgh and Bryce Davison and his companion Kim Desmond of Mooers Forks; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Maria and Kenneth Foster of Rouses Point, Elizabeth Davison of Rouses Point and Catherine Donaldson-Brewster and Felton Brewster of Plattsburgh; five grandchildren, Kayleigh and Jordan Deno, Evan and Brendan Davison and Brody Davison; and several nieces and nephews. His father, Norman Davison died Dec. 21, 2002; a sister, Betty Davison; and a nephew, David Lee Brewster, also died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. A Johnson, pastor of the Mooers United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Mooers Forks at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Mooers Fire Department. Gertrude St. Mary, 101, formerly of Edward Street, Malone, N.Y., died Monday, May 7, 2005, at the Tandem Health Care Center where she had been a resident. Born Feb. 23, 1904, in Malone, N.Y., she was the daughter of Edward J. and Bridget Farmer McCabe. There will be no calling hours, but the family will greet friends and relatives at 9:30 a.m. at the church before the Mass on Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday May 16, 2005, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chateaugay, N.Y. Funeral arrangements are through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc. Irene Stefanik, 87, of Washington Street, in Tupper Lake, N.Y., died Monday, May 9, 2005, at the Mercy Healthcare Center where she had resided the past couple of years. She was born March 8, 1918, in Tupper Lake, the daughter of William C. and Alice Elizabeth (Rice) Walsh. Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass for Irene on Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Holy Name Church. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. William F. Aubin, 61, of the Cross Road, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at his home with his family by his side. Calling hours and funeral services are incomplete and will be announced. Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. |
