Published: 5/7/05Alton T. WrisleyReber Centenarian — Alton T. Wrisley, 100, died at his home in Reber, N.Y., on May 5, 2005. He was born in Deerhead on Sept. 15, 1904, the son of Henry and Lucy (Cross) Wrisley. Alton was a dairy farmer until 1960. His love for horses and carpentry provided both work and enjoyment in later years. He enjoyed his family and friends and his home was a gathering place for many special occasions - two recent ones being the celebrations of his 100th birthday and his and Marie's 76th wedding anniversary. Alton enjoyed traveling and with his wife Marie made many trips throughout the United States and Canada and several countries after retirement. Antique engines and cars were a special interest. Alton was a lifelong member of Reber Methodist Church, a 40-year member of Reber Grange and a 50-year member of Iroquois Masonic Lodge. He was charter member of the Willsboro Riding and Driving Club. He was a founding member of the Wrisley/Risley Family Association and he belonged to the Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his wife Marie (Lewis) and three daughters and their husbands, Lucille and Harry Little, Edrie and Rodney Dickerson and Phyllis and William E. Gibbons Jr. A son, Roger Alton, died in 1965. Surviving grandchildren are Jane Wrisley, Roger Jr. and Claire Wrisley, Judy and Thomas Willis, Debra and Ross Frisbie, Gregg and Robin Garvey; Bryan and Mary Garvey, Douglas and Jacqueline and Keith Dickerson, William III and Lori Gibbons and Lynn Shepard. Granddaughter JoAnn Wrisley died in 1986. Great-grandchildren are Rose Christopher, Patrick and Christian Wrisley, Jaclyn and Thomas J. Willis, Ian and Alicia Frisbie, Julianne Frisbie, Kristin and Rick Montgomery, Kate Garvey, April and Jackson Garvey, Lindsay and Joshua Garvey, William IV and Kendal Gibbons and Daniel and Lucas Dickerson, Troy Shepard, Teddy and Kendal Gibbons. Great-grandson Justin Wrisley Garvey died in Iraq in 2003. Great-great-granddaughter Kaylee Lynn Montgomery also survives. His sister Esther and husband Eric Smith of Schenectady; sisters-in-law Norma Spaulding, Melba Wrisley and Alice Lewis Bennet; and several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Alton’s brother Elverton and sister Elizabeth Dougan; son-in-law Carl Garvey; daughter-in-law Patricia Wrisley; and great-grandsons Douglas and Casey Dickerson predeceased him. Calling hours will be at Huestis Funeral Home, Maple Street. Willsboro, on Sunday, May 8th, from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by Masonic service. Funeral service will be in the Reber Methodist Church on Monday, May 9th, at 11:30 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Reber Methodist Church or the Willsboro Rescue Squad. Dellor J. PerreaultChurubusco — Dellor J. Perreault, 79, of the Clinton Mills Road, Churubusco, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y. Born in Ellenburg, N.Y., on June 20, 1925, he was the son of Henry and Cecilia (Guerin) Perreault. He was married to Violet Derosia on Nov. 22, 1944, in Immaculate Heart of Mary, Churubusco. She predeceased him on July 18, 2002. Mr. Perreault is survived by seven children and their spouses, Sandra and Emerson Lamb of Deltona, Fla., Pauline Powers and her companion Jay Desotelle of Chateaugay Lake, Joe and Deborah Perreault of Mooers, Janet and Ernest Rennie of Rockburn, Quebec, Patricia and Curt Provost of Plattsburgh, Mike Perreault and his companion Brenda Taylor of Churubusco and Viola Harriman of Plattsburgh; 21 grandchildren; 21 great - grandchildren; three great - great - grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Lagree of Malone and Laura Lester of Malone. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents; two daughters, Nona Perreault and Lorraine Decker; five brothers, Edward, Raymond, Dolphus, Henry and Leonard Perreault; five sisters, Florance LaBombard, Seamone Trombley, Rita Shutts, Lea Perreault and Almedia Parent. Mr. Perreault operated the family farm in Churubusco from 1944 until his retirement in 1976. He was also employed at the St. Lawrence Seaway. He was supervisor for the Town of Clinton from 1969 to 1970. Mr. Perreault was a past fireman and member of the Churubusco Fire Department. He was also an avid hunter. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Monday, May 9th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10th, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will take place at Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Churubusco. Donations in his memory may be made to Churubusco Fire Department. Harold A. Trombly, 87 of Mooers, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Altona, the son of Frank and Harriet (Fisher) Trombly. Calling hours will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at St. Joseph's Church in Mooers at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Josephine R. Reid, 79, of Route 22, Plattsburgh, died Friday, May 6, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 12, 1925, the daughter of Vincent and Teresa (LaCorte) Marchese. At Josephine's request, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. Beakbane — A memorial service for Lionel R. Beakbane, 89, of Insign Pond Road, Moriah Center, N.Y., who died on Oct. 12, 2004, at the Community Hospital in Elizabethtown will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Pineview Cemetery, Glens Falls, N.Y. Trombley — A graveside service will be held Saturday in St. Mary's Cemetery in Champlain following a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Champlain for Orville Trombley, who died Nov. 30, 2004. Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. Mero — A graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Lakeshore Road, Willsboro, for Raymond L. Mero, 83, of Willsboro, who died March 11, 2005. Rev. James Delbel will officiate. Cumm — A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 14th, at 2 p.m. in New Burt Cemetery, Rt. 22, Whallonsburgh, for Anthony B. Cumm, 83, of Essex, who died March 10, 2005. Rev. James Delbel will officiate. |
