Published: 4/28/05Patricia A. GainesMooers — Patricia A. Goodrich Gaines, 77, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Panama, N.Y., on June 3, 1927, the daughter of Harold Wilson and Maude Emma (Gates) Goodrich. She attended Albany Teachers College and was employed by the Clinton Community College Office of Continuing Education from 1970 to 1972 and later for the Clinton County Real Property Tax Service Agency from 1972 to 1995 until her retirement. She is survived by her children and spouses, Mrs. H. Wayne (Janet) Lucas of Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Tracy (Nancy) Hoit of Portland, Ore., Daniel and Bobbi Gaines of Groveport, Ohio, Mrs. William (Diane) Whitford of Lincroft, N.J., and Jeffrey and Cristina Gaines of Fairfax, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Francis (Aljean) Leer of Woodstock, Va.; and several grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her husband, Cresson H. Gaines died in 1972 and a sister, Mrs. Herbert (June) Anders also died earlier. Calling hours and a time of reflection will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mooers. Memorial donations may be made to the J.C.E.O., the Senior Citizens Council of Clinton County or the Clinton County Office of the Aging, Rural Transport Program. Walter H. CoonPlattsburgh — Walter H. Coon, 76, of the Smart Road in Morrisonville, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 4, 1928, son of the late Henry and Grace (Jessey) Coon. Walter served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Clinton Correctional Facility in 1990 as a motor vehicle operator. Walter was a member of the American Legion Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh. Walter is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Ina Bouyea of Morrisonville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara Coon of Morrisonville, Sheila and Raymond McKee of Schuyler Falls and Patricia and Dennis Narducci Sr. of Morrisonville; two sons a daughter-in-law, Michael and Laura Coon of Morrisonville and Daniel Donah of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Sarah Gintowt of Holyoke, Mass. and Dorothy McNabb of Florida; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. At Walter's request, funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in Walter's memory may be made to the family. Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. William N. Vogt Jr., 77, of Seneca Drive, Champlain Park, Cumberland Head, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. Calling hours and funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. Eileen M. Darrah, 68, of Route 3, Cadyville, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Cornell Hospital in New York City. She was born Dec. 30, 1936, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Shanley. Arrangements are incomplete with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Helen I. Miller, 97, formerly of Hillcrest Avenue, Plattsburgh died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility. She was born in Jay, N.Y., on Aug. 29, 1907, the daughter of Dr. John and Corinth (Bissell) Smith. Calling hours are Friday, April 29, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2005, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home Chapel at a time to be announced. A full obituary will appear in Friday’s Press-Republican. Roseanne Defayette, 62, of Plattsburgh, died Sunday, January 16, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh on June 30, 1942, the daughter of Edward A. and Catherine (Gagne) Rood. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. The O’Neill-Redden Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements. |
