Published: 4/26/05Ronald J. BolaAuSable Forks, NY/Cape Coral, Fla. — Ronald J. Bola (Ronnie) long time resident of AuSable Forks, N.Y., passed away April 23, 2005, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Fla. He was born Dec. 7, 1919, the son of Rose (Laduke) and Almond Bola. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, Jeffery James; and a sister, Mila Bola. He attended school in AuSable Forks and after high school enlisted in the United States Marine Corp., where he was stationed on the USS lowa, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war he returned to AuSable Forks, where he founded Bola's Electrical, Heating and Plumbing. He and his wife owned and operated Bola's Appliance and bottled gas business for some 30 years. He was an active member of the AuSable Forks Fire Department for 50 years. A lifelong member of Holy Name Church. He also was a charter member of the AuSable Forks Lion's Club. In recent years, he wintered in Florida with his daughters and spent summers at his camp on Fern Lake, while care-taking for the former girls camp on Silver Lake. Survived by Kathleen Bola, his wife of 58 years; four children, Sandra Devins (Tim) of Oakton, Va., Pamela Douglass (Dave) of Cape Coral, Fla., Joseph Bola (Jean) of Jay, N.Y., and Nancy Minaya of Alton, N.H.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sylvia (Bola) Lashway of Mineville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held this summer and will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomatic Pkwy E., Cape Coral, FL 33909. He enjoyed life and always put needs of others before his own, he was quick witted and liked leaving notes in cookie jars wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. Franklin, 80, of Churubusco, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Churubusco on March 22, 1925, the son of Benjamin and Bessie (Breen) Franklin. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Churubusco. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Helen A. Trzoniec, 99, of Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility, Plattsburgh, died on Monday, April 25, 2005. She was born on Jan. 29, 1906, daughter of Martin and Josephine (Koznowski) Trzoniec. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 29, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Family Church in Carteret, N.J. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Keasby, N.J.
