Published: 4/24/05Lee John PockettTiconderoga — Lee John Pockett, 85, of Wayne Avenue, passed away Friday, April 22, 2005, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga. Born in Fair Haven, Vt., Feb. 11, 1920, he was the son of the late James and Carrie (Manchester) Pockett. Mr. Pockett was a graduate of Fair Haven High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Years ago, Lee was a standout athlete, having played softball in Ticonderoga for the EMBA Softball League and semi-pro football for the Whitehall Pachyderms. Mr. Pockett moved to Ticonderoga from Whitehall in 1950. He was employed by the International Paper Company of Ticonderoga for 33 years, before his retirement in 1982 and was a member of the company's quarter century club. He also was a volunteer ambulance driver for the Ticonderoga Emergency Squad for many years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Paulina (Lamphron) Pockett in 1955 and also by his second wife, Susan (Cioppa) Pockett in 2001. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Roscoe Pockett, Albert Pockett and James Pockette. Survivors include his four children, Carol Perry and her husband Carl of Ticonderoga, Paul Pockett and his wife Patricia of Ticonderoga, Lynn Widawski of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jim Pockett and his wife Jaci of Ticonderoga; one sister, Alice Longtin of Fort Edward; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Charlton of Ticonderoga and Herbie Pockette of Fair Haven, Vt. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will take place at the family plot of St. Mary's Parish Cemetery of Ticonderoga, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga. Eleanor L. PerreaChamplain — Eleanor L. Perrea, 82, of Champlain, passed away Friday, April 22, 2005, at her home. She was born April 27, 1922, in Mooers Forks, the daughter of the late Aiken and Mallisa (Covey) Recore. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1418 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post 767 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts, her grandchildren and traveling. She is predeceased by her husband, Patrick Perrea; two brothers, Phillip Recore and Arthur Recore; one stepson, Maurice; and one sister, Edna Recore. Survivors include one son, Victor and Lise Vancour of Hemmingford, Quebec; three stepsons, Allen and Brenda Perrea of Champlain, Arthur Perrea and his companion Becky LaBlanc of Brushton and Roy Perrea of Champlain; one daughter, Janice Koslofsky and her husband Norman of Champlain; nine grandchildren, Sharlene Bedard and her husband Charles, Robert Vancour and his wife Debbie, Francois Perrea, Charles Perrea, Kimberlee Letourneau and her husband Michael, Shannon Perrea, Rachael Perrea, Emmet Perrea and Patrick Perrea; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan Bedard, Eric and David Vancour, Simon Perrea, Ethan and Zackary Letourneau and Michaela and Olivia Perrea; one stepdaughter-in-law, Rachael Perrea of St. Jean, Quebec. A special nephew, Larry Perrea and his family, his brother David and sister Sharron also survive her. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 25th, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. In her memory, donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Champlain or a charity of one’s choice. Robert A. DubayPlattsburgh — Mr. Robert A. Dubay, 56, of Lynde Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, April 22, 2005, at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, N.Y. He was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 31, 1948, the son of Harold and Madeline (Robare) Dubay. Robert was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of the first class of the Elite Border Patrol Group BORTAC, which was responsible for undercover overseas drug details. Robert retired after 26 years, retiring at the Champlain, N.Y., station. Robert coached basketball at St. John's and Seton Catholic Central Schools. He was a Boston Red Sox fan, an avid golfer and a member of the North Country Golf Club. He was a member of St. John's Church. Robert was predeceased by his father, Harold Dubay. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Denise J. (Lamoy) Dubay of Plattsburgh; their children, Jeremy Dubay and his wife Rachel of Albany, Eric Dubay of Plattsburgh and Christopher Dubay of Dudley, Mass.; his mother, Madeline Dubay of Newcomb, N.Y.; one brother, Richard Dubay and his wife Debra of Peru; two sisters, Linda Fiebke and her husband Ed and Debra Robitaille and her husband Robert of Gansevoort; two grandsons, Kaleb Gohlke and Brady Dubay; as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church. Interment will be in St. Therese Cemetery in Newcomb, N.Y., on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Friends wishing may make donations to Seton Catholic Central School or the American Cancer Society. Sample — A memorial service for Mildred "Millie" Sample, 85, of Cannons Corners Road, Mooers Forks, who died on Jan. 15, 2005, at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point, will be held on Monday, April 25th, at 9 a.m. in St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bresette — A graveside service for Donald H. Bresette Sr., 64, of the Blake Road, Plattsburgh, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, will be held Monday, April 25th, at 9 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville, with Rev. William Reamer officiating. Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. St. Peter’s Cemetery, Plattsburgh — The following graveside services will be held on Monday, April 25th, at 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. Bushey — Florence A. Bushey, 80, of Eddie Drive, Plattsburgh, who died Feb. 5, 2005, at her home. Carron — John W. Carron, 57, of Katherine Drive, Plattsburgh, who died Dec. 28, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Rivers — Robert J. Rivers, 71, of the Spellman Road, Plattsburgh, who died March 15, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Proulx — Robert F. Proulx, 47, of Macomb Street, Plattsburgh, who died March 15, 2005, at his home. Walter — Anita V.
