Published: 4/19/05Yvonne E. RosenquistWESTPORT — Yvonne "Bonnie" E. (O’Neil) Rosenquist, 76, of McConley Lane, Westport, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Hospital, Burlington, Vt., surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Moriah, N.Y., Aug. 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Earl Warren O’Neil and Grace (Pereau) O’Neil. Yvonne was a member of the Moriah United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Port Henry High and Albany Business College. She was a homemaker until her children were through high school, participating in Girl Scouts and Home Bureau. She was an accomplished seamstress. She then traveled with her husband following employment assignments, working at secretarial positions. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Archie Rosenquist; and three children, Bronwyn Lee and her husband Terry Wilcox of Clayton, N.Y., David Loren and wife Barbara of Garland, Texas, and Dawn Ellen and her husband "Rob" Zimmerman of Titusville, Fla.; her grandsons, Capt. Sidney David Rosenquist, 1st Battalion 41st Infantry U.S. Army and wife Rebecca, Daniel L. Rosenquist, P.E. of Baton Rouge, La.; granddaughters Jennifer Kathleen and her husband Donald Bell, Melissa Noel Rosenquist, Jessica Ellen Noel, LTJG U.S. Coast Guard, and Adrienne Boothby and husband Jamie Gullette; and great-granddaughter, Torrie Yvonne Gullette. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Any donations may be made to the Westport Ambulance Squad. Arrangements are with the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. Francis E. LashwayELLENBURG DEPOT — Francis E. Lashway, 64, of Plank Road, Ellenburg Depot died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., May 2, 1940, the son of Frank and Stella (LaBarge) Lashway. Francis worked for many years at Clinton Correctional Facility. He was a member of the Ace Rod and Gun Club and several CB clubs. He loved fishing, boxing, baseball and all children. He is survived by his wife, the former Gloria Perkins Manor; his mother, Stella Lashway of Plattsburgh; five children and their wives, Dennis Lashway of Chazy Lake, Jamie and Tammy Lashway of Plattsburgh, Brian and Sue Lashway of White River Junction, Vt., Laurie Lashway of Florida and Beeze and Sarah LeClair of Dannemora; six stepchildren and their wives, Clarence and Sandy Manor of Ellenburg, Wayne Perkins and companion Barbara Barber of Ellenburg Depot, Ronnie and Allyson Manor of Ellenburg Depot, Tammy and Danny Manor of Ellenburg Center, Michael and Belina Manor of Ellenburg Depot and Hank and Linda Manor of Chateaugay; two sisters and brother-in-law, Marie and Vernon Bourlice of Altona and Cathy Tyler of Plattsburgh; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. His father, Frank J. Lashway Jr., died Dec. 2, 1994. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the St. Edmonds Church in Ellenburg. Betty Ann ChaplaLEWIS — Betty Ann Chapla, know to everyone as "Betsy", succumbed to lung cancer after a 20 month battle, on Sat. April 16, 2005, at her home in Lewis, N.Y., surrounded by friends and family. Her husband, John her son, Joey and her daughter, Heather took care of her right up to the end. Betty was born to Alex and Amandine (Wasik) Konopka in Bristol, Conn., on Oct. 1, 1954. She had three older sisters, Jeanne Leide, Christine Anderson and Diane Konopka; and a younger brother, James Konopke. Her siblings, mother and seven nieces, all reside in Connecticut. Betty had a sister-like bond to Elaine Wisniewski, Ann Moore and their families. She was wed on Nov. 26, 1982, to John Chapla who would be her husband for 22 years through the best and the worst. Betty moved to Lewis, N.Y., in 1984 after her son Joey was born, and before daughter, Heather in 1986. She worked for 14 years at the Essex County ARC. Betty was a woman of unparalleled kindness and humor. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife and a hard worker. She was amiable to everyone she met and will be missed by all who knew her. There will be no calling hour. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Marvin’s Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements. Wilma M. McGrathPeru — Wilma M. McGrath, 75, of the Clinton County Nursing Home and formerly of the Lapham Mills Road, Peru, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Peru, Nov. 9, 1929, the daughter of Loney D. and Sarah M. (Abare) Wells. She was a 1948 graduate of Peru Central School. She was a life member and past president of the Peru Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 309 and past County President of the VFW. She was also an active member of the Republican Committee. Wilma enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing Bingo. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Edwin L. McGrath Sr., whom she married March 16, 1957, at the Peru Community Church; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tresah McGrath of Peru and Janet and Richard Calkins of Schuyler Falls; one son, Edwin L. McGrath Jr. of West Chazy; a daughter-in-law, Karen McGrath of Chazy; six grandchildren, Melissa, Jeremy and Christina Calkins and Edwin III, Madeline and Kallie McGrath; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Arnold Wells and James and Gertrude Wells, all of Peru; a special niece, Nancy Wells; and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Dorsey Wells; and four sisters, Beulah Way, Florence Laramie, Martha Way and Genevieve Giddings. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Parker officiating. Burial will follow in God’s Acre Cemetery in Peru. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Food Shelf or the Clinton County Nursing Home Activities Fund. Larry K. LaundryPlattsburgh — Larry K. Laundry, 51, of Wall Street, Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vt., as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Plattsburgh on April 18, 1953, son of Charles A. and Pearl (Bresette) Laundry. Larry is survived by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Laundry and his wife Leann of Virginia, Pauline Obert of Plattsburgh, William Laundry and his companion Penny of Plattsburgh, Bernard Laundry and his wife Yalonda of Plattsburgh, Francis Laundry and his wife Doris of Plattsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Barbara Renadette. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 19, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 10 a.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Bleaux, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the family. Justin S. ReyellAltona — Justin S. Reyell, 17, of Joe Wood Road, Altona, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, as the result of injuries sustained in an ATV accident. He was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 23, 1988, son of Scott A. Reyell and Becky (Wood) Reyell. Justin was attending Northern Adirondack Central School and was in 9th grade. He loved John Deere tractors especially pulling with his grandfather, he enjoyed riding four wheelers, fishing, hunting and going to the farm with his uncle John. Justin especially enjoyed being with his Dad "fixing everything". He loved being with his brother, Scott his cousin, AJ and friends, Shawn and Seth. Justin is survived by his father, Scott A. Reyell of Altona; his mother, Becky Tyler and her husband Tim of Plattsburgh; a brother, Scott Reyell of Altona; his stepbrother, Timmy Tyler of Plattsburgh; his paternal grandmother, Beverly Broe of Plattsburgh; maternal grandparents, Alvin Wood of Peru and Simone Wood of Altona; his aunts and uncles, Allen and Donna Wood of Altona, Penny and John Dezan of Chateaugay, Lisa and Adam Baker of Plattsburgh, Jim and Kim Reyell of Plattsburgh and Stella Wood of Plattsburgh; many cousins, especially John, Jimmy, Kristy, Shyan, Dakota, Kylee, Austin, Hunter, RJ, Travis, Neal, AJ; his girl friend, Cherish LaBombard; and his many friends. Justin was predeceased by his grandfather, Albert Reyell; grandparents, Eva and Leonard Houle; grandmother, Eva Wood; and grandmother, Leona Clukey. Amelia Leona HopkinsTiconderoga — Amelia Leona "Bess" Hopkins, 87, of Alexandria Avenue, Ticonderoga, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center of Burlington, Vt. She was born in Ticonderoga, June 11, 1917, the daughter of the late Albert and Kittie (McCabe) Eichen. Mrs. Hopkins was a veteran of the U.S. Women’s Army Corp. having served during World War II. She has been a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga and was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School, Class of 1935. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. Before her retirement, Mrs. Hopkins was employed by Dr. Beers as a dental assistant for several years and she also was the bookkeeper for her father’s business - Eichen’s Lumber Mill. Mrs. Hopkins enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, bird watching and was a crosswords enthusiast. But most of all, she was an accomplished homemaker and a loving mother. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Hopkins on Aug. 26, 1992. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Richard Eichen, Paul Eichen, James Eichen and Lawrence Eichen; and three sisters, Belle Kolysko, Blanche Rivers and Virginia Mattison. Survivors include her twin sons, Daniel J. Hopkins of Ticonderoga and Donald P. Hopkins of Bridgeport, Conn.; one sister, Barbara Dowdle and her husband James of Norwood, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Frank Carney of Sabbath Day Point; and three grandchildren, Christin, Jennifer and Gabriel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate. The rite of committal will follow at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga. Ortha TryonELIZABETHTOWN — Ortha (Ferguson) Tryon passed away Saturday, April 16, 2005, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown. She was born Aug. 22, 1912, the daughter of Oscar and Phila Ferguson. She was the wife of the late Percy S. Tryon, who passed Sept. 6, 1995. She is survived by her children, Percival "Skip" Tryon of Westport, Rita Paquette of Westport, Reg Tryon of Salina, Kan.; her son-in-law, Dale Moss of Westport; her sister, Ruth Mullen of Mineville; and her brother, George Ferguson of Florida. She is predeceased by her husband, Percy; her daughter, Joyce; her parents; and brothers and sisters. Ortha was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. At her request there will be no calling hours or memorial service. A committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh for Mr. Albert Monette, 87, of Waterhouse Street in Plattsburgh, who passed away Jan. 9, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Eldred, 74, of Chateaugay, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 4, 1930, the son of Walter H. and Ethel (Elliott) Eldred. Warren, 78, formerly of 50 Mill Street, Malone, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone, where she had been a resident since May 2002. She was born Jan. 26, 1927, in Westville, the daughter of the late Adolphus and Florence Martin Andrews. There are no calling hours.
