Louis B. Aubin

LEWIS — Louis B. Aubin, 70, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Lewis on July 3, 1934, the son of Claude and Wilhelmina (Coonrod) Aubin.

Louis loved to fish and hunt and did a lot of carpentry work. He also owned his own sawmill. On Sundays, he and his friends would get together and have fun shooting clay pigeon targets.

He worked for 20 years for the Essex County Highway Department as a heavy-equipment operator and welder and in maintenance. He also served four years in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his mother, Wilhelmina Aubin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Rita Aubin of Texas and Michael and Tammi Aubin of Reber; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Lou and Lonny Favreau of Plattsburgh; three brothers and spouses, Miles and Patty Aubin of Willsboro, Claude and Sonya Aubin of Elizabethtown and Leo Aubin of Elizabethtown; a sister, Loretta Espencheid of Illinois; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at W.M. Marvin’s Sons Inc. in Elizabethtown.

James K. Dwyer

Chazy — James K. Dwyer, 78, of Lake Shore Road, Chazy and formerly of Otisville, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Fletcher Allen in Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Port Jervis on Oct. 8, 1926, son of the late James T. Dwyer and Beatrice Dwyer, step-mother.

Jim served in the second World War in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Grappel.

Margaret Edwards Dwyer was his loving wife for 56 years. Surviving also are two sons, Keith T. Dwyer of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla., and James P. Dwyer of Kansas City, Kan.; sister, Catherine Dwyer of San Jose, Calif.; two grandchildren, Jimmy and Amy Dwyer; brother-in-law, Dr. John and Avo Edwards of Chazy and Cary, N.C.

After retiring in 1989 from Monroe Woodbury School District in New York, moved to the North Country and beautiful Lake Champlain, so he could fish with his best friends, Happy Larnare, Jerry LaBombard and sons.

Jim's hobby was making custom fishing rods, he was an artist in his own right, spending many hours making one of a kind fishing rods. All who knew him found him a gentle and loving man. He was a great example to his sons who loved him dearly and will be missed by all.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Sacred Heart Church in Chazy with Rev. Normand Cote, retired, officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in James' memory may be made to Chazy Fire and Ambulance Company and the Chazy Public Library.

M. Lillian Goetz

Lake Placid — M. Lillian Goetz, 84, of 89 Greenwood, Lake Placid, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Tupper Lake, N.Y., on Jan. 3, 1921, the daughter of William and Katherine (Dougherty) Shells.

After retiring in 1986, Lillian returned to her love of the Adirondacks.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Karin Goetz of Gainsville, Va., and Edward and Susan Goetz of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; one daughter, Linda Greenham of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Katherine Shells; her sisters, Marcella McCarthy and Dorothy Camorie; her brothers, Mark and John Sheils; and her grandson, Jeffrey Greenham.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A bible vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at 11:15 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church, with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer, officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake.

Friends wishing to remember M. Lillian Goetz, may make memorial contributions to High Peaks Hospice, Saranac Lake Women's Civic Chamber or the Adirondack Medical Center in care of the funeral home.

Beatrice H. McClellan

Uniontown, Pa. — Beatrice H. McClellan, 97, died Monday, April 4, 2005, in the Hillside Manor Personal Care Home in Uniontown, Pa.

She was born Feb. 13, 1908, in Salem, N.Y., the daughter of Dr. Silas A. Reed and Agnes Reed.

She graduated from Elmira College in 1928 and was a French teacher.

She married the late Alex K. McClellan Jr. on Aug. 29, 1942. They lived in Port Henry, N.Y., and then Bay Village, Ohio and Uniontown, Pa.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Bernice Wells and Doretta Bacon; and a brother, Dr. Paul Reed.

Surviving are a son, William R. McClellan and his wife Sharon of Westford, Mass.; a daughter, Joyce A. McClellan of Millersburg, Ohio; a grandson, Derek S. McClellan and his wife Andrea of Northboro, Mass.; a granddaughter, Gillian C. McClellan of Westford, Mass.; and a sister, Joyce Folsom of Glens Falls, N.Y.

Services were held on April 10 at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry, N.Y. A graveside memorial service will be held in Union Cemetery, Port Henry, N.Y., later in the spring.

Katherine E. Kelly

AuSable Forks — Katherine E. (Midge) Kelly, 75, of Route 9N AuSable Forks passed into the arm of the Lord Monday, April 11, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Katherine was born March 21, 1930, in AuSable Forks, the daughter of Albert and Rita Saltmarsh Forbes.

She graduated from AuSable Forks Central School in 1947.

She was a baker for Santa’s Workshop for five years and was employed at the cafeteria at the AuSable Valley Central School. She was the town judge for the town of AuSable from November 1978 to December 1996. She was one of the two original telephone operators for the AuSable Valley Telephone Company. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her cats and feeding the birds. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Patti Kelly of AuSable Forks and Jeff and Tina Kelly of AuSable Forks; six grandchildren, Travis, Brandon, Shane, Stanley, Bernadette and Christine; two brothers-in-law and two sister-in-law, Everett Kelly, Caroline Kelly, Richard and Sherry Barber; eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Paul Kelly.

Calling hours will be Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and the funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks. Burial will follow in the Jay Central Cemetery in Jay, N.Y.

Memorials can be made to the Keeseville Rescue Service.

F. Eva McDonald, 92, of College Avenue, Malone, N.Y., died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home in Malone, she had also been a resident at Vale Haven Adult Home in Malone.

She was born in East Dickinson, N.Y., Aug. 30, 1912, the daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth LaValley Foley.

There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

Genevieve V. MacNeill, 86, of Park Avenue, Saranac Lake, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Riverport, Nova Scotia, on Dec. 18, 1918, the daughter of Kenneth and Clara (Smith) Creaser.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Saranac Lake with the Pastor Reverend Joann White, officiating. Burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid. Arrangements are with Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc., Saranac Lake.

Susan J. Hemingway, 53, of West Chazy, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
