William W. Finney III

PLATTSBURGH — William W. Finney III, 77, of Treadwells Bay, Plattsburgh and Vero Beach, Fla., died unexpectedly Friday, April 8, 2005, at his home in Vero Beach.

He was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Peru, the son of William W. II and Dorothy (Boyd) Finney.

Bill graduated from Peru High School and then served in the United States Navy.

He was part owner of WW Finney and Sons of Plattsburgh and co-owner with his wife of Finney’s Tastee Freeze for many years. He was executive secretary to the Clinton County Civil Service Department upon his retirement.

Mr. Finney was a member of the Peru Community Church and the Community Church-United Church of Christ, Vero Beach.

He was a member of Keeseville Elks Lodge No. 2072, the Peru Fire Department, the Peru Lions Club and AuSable River Lodge No. 149 of the F & AM in Keeseville. to which he was awarded the 55-year pin. He was former president of the Peru Central School Board.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Evelyn "Dai" VanBuren Finney of Vero Beach; two sons and daughters-in-law, William W. IV and Judy Finney of Arlington, Va., Robert V. and Karen Finney of Fort Pierce, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Gerry Finney of Keeseville; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Cathy and Christie Finney; one great-grandson, Patrick Ahern; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father in 1951 and mother in 1993.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Peru Community Church, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Peru Cemetery Inc.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Peru Community Church.

Frank Henderson

ELLENBURG DEPOT — Frank C. "Boey" Henderson, 68, of Ellenburg Depot passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Born in Rochester, N.H., on Oct. 3, 1936, Frank had a great passion for farming and animals. He was a super Dad and a wonderful husband.

Frank is well known for his wacky sense of humor. He loved to laugh and have a good time. He was easy to love and was loved by everyone who met him. His famous phrase was, "You may love me, you may hate me, but you will NEVER forget me!"

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Joan Henderson; sons Franklin Jr., Horace, Charlie and Matthew; daughters Julie, Jeannie and Ruth; stepdaughters Melisha, Nadine and Rochelle; grandchildren Brittney, Bonnie, Ashley, Kimberly, Nicole, May, Cory, Bo, R.J., Joseph, Nancy-Joy, Jason, Nathan, Michelle and Michelle; daughters-in-law Mary-Beth, Robin and Tammy; sons-in-law Reggie and Jeff; and brothers Robbie and Charles of Maine.

He was predeceased by both of his parents, two sisters and two daughters, Bonnie in 1980 and Charlene in 1983.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 13, 2005, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Burial will take place at a later date and time to be announced, at Roger’s Cemetery in Troy, Maine.

Donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Louis B. Aubin

LEWIS — Louis B. Aubin, 70, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Lewis on July 3, 1934, the son of Claude and Wilhelmina (Coonrod) Aubin.

Louis loved to fish and hunt and did a lot of carpentry work. He also owned his own sawmill. On Sundays, he and his friends would get together and have fun shooting clay pigeon targets.

He worked for 20 years for the Essex County Highway Department as a heavy-equipment operator and welder and in maintenance. He also served four years in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Rita Aubin of Texas and Michael and Tammie Auber of Reber; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Lou and Lonnie Fabro of Plattsburgh; three brothers and spouses, Miles and Patty Aubin of Willsboro, Claude and Sonya Aubin of Elizabethtown and William Aubin of Elizabethtown; a sister, Loretta Espencheid of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at W. M. Marvin’s Sons Inc. in Elizabethtown.
