Earl E. Secore

MERIDEN, Conn. — Earl E. Secore, 71, of Meriden, Conn., husband of Margaret (Noel) Secore, died on Saturday morning, April 9, 2005, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., on Aug. 24, 1933, the son of the late Edward J. and Ella (Boyea) Secore, he had resided in Meriden, for the past 40 years.

He was educated in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., and was owner and operator of Porcelain Patch & Glaze Co., retiring ten years ago. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the U.S. Army.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sandra Dyson of Southington; three sons, Terrance E. Secore of Meriden, Edward J. Secore and his wife Joann of Virginia and Richard N. Secore and his wife Wendy of Meriden; seven grandchildren, Karin and Kristy Dyson, Steven and David Secore, Nicole and T.J. Secore and Dallis Secore; four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Sabrina, Nicholas and Andrea; one sister, Thelma Nephew of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; one brother, Donald Secore of Cromwell; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, April 11, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m.

John J. Petro

Mineville — John J. Petro Sr., 63, of Fisher Hill Road, Mineville died Friday, April 9, 2005, at his home with his family at his side.

He was born July 9, 1941, in Mineville, N.Y., the son of Adam and Josephine (Galick) Petro.

He was retired from International Paper Co. in Ticonderoga after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Still Bank Collectors Club of America. He served in the United States Airforce and the U.S. Marines Corpes.

John enjoyed his family, love of his animal, collecting and looking for arrowheads, going to garage sales, auctions and collecting old furniture. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Sherman) Petro; his son, John Jr. and Paula Petro; his daughter, DanielIe (Petro) and Jamie Anson; two grandchildren, John J. Petro III and Derek Petro; his brothers, Adam and Joan Petro, Billy and Kathy Petro, Edward and Beverly Petro and Ronald and Mary Petro; his sisters, Donna and Richard Wallingford, Sandra and Anthony Bianco; his mother and father-in-law, Susan and Fayette Sherman; brothers-in-law, Dick and Ellie Sherman, James and Carol Sherman, Donald and Donna Sherman; sister-in-law, Fayline and Gary Rancour; many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Adam and Josephine Petro; and his first wife, Nicole (Riendeau) Petro.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 10, 2005, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A graveside funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 11, 2005, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Moriah.

Donations may be made in John’s memory to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad or to High Peaks Hospice in Port Henry.

Sandra J. Desrochers

Plattsburgh — Sandra J. Desrochers, 62, of Runway Drive, Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005, at the home of her daughter Deborah St. Denis.

She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on July 28, 1942, the daughter of Sanford and Evelyn (Dapo) Cook.

Sandra was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring in 2004. She enjoyed dancing and having a good time. Sandra was a member of the Plattsburgh Moose Lodge and Our Lady of Victory Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Sanford and Evelyn Cook; her husband, Philip Desrochers; her sister, Gloria Cook.

She is survived by her children, Deborah St. Denis and her husband Robert of Plattsburgh, Timothy Stampfler of Plattsburgh and Tammy Stampfler of Peru; her nieces and nephews that she raised following the death of her sister Gloria, Carroll Crosby of Plattsburgh and Michael Rossi and his wife Rhonda of Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia, Anna James and her husband Terry of Plattsburgh and Christina Durocher and her husband Todd of Plattsburgh; her brothers, Clyde Cook and his wife Helen of Peru, Larry Cook and his wife Beverly of Hope Mills, N.C., Ronald Cook and his wife Renee of Morrisonville; a sister-in-law, Alice Mark and her husband Fred of Plattsburgh; her grandchildren, Andrew and Randy Facteau, Casandra Snow, Justin and Mindy Metcalfe, Lindsey Ashline, Travis, Tyler and Kara James, Chad Durocher, Vanessa and Adora Rossi and Vern Vollman; a great-granddaughter, Jasmine Marie Rossi; several nieces and nephews; friends and a special cousin, Father Jerry Dapeaux of Diocese of Burlington, Vt.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A vigil service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux presiding. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Dolores Nancy Moses

PLATTSBURGH — Dolores Nancy Moses, 63, of formerly of Plattsburgh, and most recently Pleasant View, Tenn., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5, 2005.

She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Dec. 30, 1941, the daughter of Dominic and Doris (Darrah) Belgarde.

Dolores was raised by Carl and Marian Messenger in Ontario, Ore.

She enjoyed painting, crocheting, collecting lions, wolves and angels. While living in Plattsburgh, Dolores was a supervisor for Battat, Inc., for several years.

Dolores was married to Jay Martindale and they had two daughters, Valinda and Jadean Martindale. She later married Charles Brown and they had three sons, Charles, Steven and Chad Brown.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents, Dominic and Doris Belgarde; two brothers, Roland Belgarde and Duane Darrah.

She is survived by two daughters, Valinda Cayetano and her fiancé Charles T. Bender of Pleasant View, Tenn. and Jadean Lewis and her husband Terry of Plattsburgh; three sons, Charles E. Brown of Plattsburgh, Steven Brown and his wife Tawnya (Hanson) Brown of Plattsburgh and Chad Brown and his wife Debbie of Mooers, N.Y.; three brothers and eight sisters, Dominic Belgarde Jr., Kenneth Darrah and his wife Mary, Calvin Darrah, Ethel Joyce and her husband James, Shelby Palallotoc, Donna Loche and her husband Tom, Deborah Duell and her husband Ronald, Tanya Lafountain and her husband Gary, Lonnie Bedard and her husband Gary, Roseva Arnold and her husband Garen and Kimberly Moyer and her husband Donald; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guest on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service conducted by family an friends will follow at 5 p.m.
