Published: 4/1/05Elizabeth M. HarringtonMoriah — Elizabeth M. Harrington, 72, of Fairy Lake Road, Moriah, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Jay, N.Y., the daughter of Reginald and Margaret (Phillips) Thwaits. Elizabeth graduated from AuSabIe Forks High School, Class of 1950. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family, her home, gardening, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. She is survived by her husband, George R. Harrington; her daughter, Tina Marie Gilbert and her husband Steve of Azie, Texas; her sons, John R. Harrington and wife Deborah of Port Henry, N.Y., Michael J. Harrington and wife Xochi of Chandler, Ariz., and William D. Harrington and wife Julie of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; a brother, Melvin Thwaits of Jay, N.Y.; and her sisters, Mary Bodds of AuSable Forks and Sarah Teruedau of Seattle, Wash. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Fannie Webster; and her brothers, Reginald T. Thwaits and Max Thwaits. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 4th, at 11 a.m. at the Moriah Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Horace Nye Nursing Home or to the Moriah Methodist Church. Hubert "Bert" S. SenecalPlattsburgh — Hubert "Bert" S. Senecal, 62, of the Cross Road, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 2, 1942, the son of Charlie and Alice Senecal. He married Alice Cudworth in Plattsburgh on July 3, 1965. Alice died in November 1994. Bert was a member of the Moose Lodge in Keeseville. He was a mechanic for over 40 years and 25 years with the U.S. Government Civil Service on the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base in Plattsburgh, retiring in 1993. Bert loved camping, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. His greatest joy was his grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Robert and Kim Senecal of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren, Samantha, Robbie, Richie and Ryan Senecal and Brock and Jacklyn Darrah; one brother, Gary Senecal of Plattsburgh; one sister, Beverly and Raymond Hendrie of Plattsburgh; and three nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Carolyn "Peggy" Vanvalkenburg. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at a later date in the Schuyler Falls Cemetery in Schuyler Falls. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country. Lillian M. RobinsonPLATTSBURGH — Lillian M. Robinson, 92, of Northway Court, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Mooers Forks, N.Y., on March 19, 1913, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Rock) Nephew. Lillian married Thomas P. Robinson on June 13, 1932. Lillian and her husband previously owned and operated Sun-E-Hill Farm and Dairy in Champlain, N.Y. Lillian also owned and operated Lillian's Antiques and Gift Shop in her home, where her handmade items, dolls and antiques were offered. For many years Lillian would display all her beautiful items from her shop at the local county fairs in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties. She was recognized for her volunteer efforts in Clinton County at Meadowbrook and the CVPH gift shop and coffee shop and RSVP. Survivors include her children, Joyce (Harold) Ryan of Saranac, N.Y., Thomas R. Robinson of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Beverly (Bernard) Muldoon of Norwich, Conn., and Roger Robinson of Beartown, West Chazy, N.Y.; one brother, Carl Nephew of Mooers Forks, N.Y.; three sisters, Eva Drown of Mooers, N.Y., Stella Sheehy of Albany, N.Y., and Ruby Goodell of Ellenburg, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Robinson; five brothers, Wilmer, Earl, Leo, Harold and Richard Nephew; and four sisters, Irene Saunders, Delsie Begor, Bertha Prevost and Pearl Ash. A memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Roger McGuinness on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church, 20 Broad St., Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested to the American Heart Association, Northeastern Area, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205-3890. Arrangements are by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Eugene C. Jones, 70, of Tupper Lake, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at his home. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. at Holy Name Church. |
