Published: 3/31/05Emily Peasley RockTiconderoga — Emily Peasley Rock, 77, of Park Avenue, Ticonderoga, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ticonderoga, Sept. 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Bertha (Guiles) Peasley. Mrs. Rock was a lifelong Ticonderoga resident and a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. She was employed by J.J. Newberry’s Department Store of Ticonderoga as luncheonette manager for 26 years before her retirement in 1985. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Rock on March 29, 2000; and also by a brother, Richard Peasley; and a sister, Regina Bechard. Survivors include two sisters, her twin, Evelyn L. Crammond of Ticonderoga and Edna Gratton of Halfmoon; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will take place at the family plot of St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery of Ticonderoga at a later date. Rene J. TetreaultCHAZY — Rene J. Tetreault, 68, of Chazy passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., with his wife and family by his side. He was born on Dec. 13, 1936, in Chazy, the son of Jean Baptiste and Alexandrine (Fortin) Tetreault. He owned and operated a family dairy farm for many years. He also owned Ken’s Marina and worked as a greens keeper at the North Country Golf Club. He was a 4th degree member, past Grand Knight and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus 3525. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards, but his true love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Rene is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Caroline (Trombly) Tetreault; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Dave Collins of Edgewater, Fla.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy and Carolyn Tetreault of Chazy and Ronnie Tetreault and Lin Bouvier of Chazy; a granddaughter, Hilary Tetreault; and two grandsons, Kyle Tetreault and Trevor Collins; two sisters, Aline and Al Fessette of Point Au Roche and Angela and Gordon House of Plattsburgh; one brother, Andre and Laura Tetreault of Champlain; his stepmother, Rita Tetreault; sister-in-law, Pat and Roland Tetreault; brothers-in-law, Leo and Liz Trombly and Leon and Pauline Trombly; mother-in-law Beatrice Trombly; and three stepgrandchildren Kristin McAuliffe, Nicolette and Chantal DuBrey; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada. At Rene’s request there will be no calling hours and his remains will be cremated. A memorial Mass will take place on Monday, April 4, 2005, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Coopersville. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus in Champlain. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made out to Bringham and Women’s Hospital for COPD Research. RattaPlattsburgh — Rita M. Ratta, 80, of Route 9 North, Plattsburgh, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Isle LaMotte, Vt., on July 19, 1924, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Ratta) Turner. Rita was a loving wife, mother, sister and a very dear aunt. She will be deeply missed. She is survived her husband, Donald Ratta whom she married on March 5, 1946; a sister, Marie and Alfred Agnew of Plattsburgh; three sisters-in-law, Helene Turner of Hudson Falls, Claire Turner of Meriden, Conn., and Grace Ratta of North Hero, Vt.; a brother-in-law, Ray Jalbert of Fiskdale, Mass.; several nieces and nephews, Elaine and Vernon James of Alburg, Vt., Albert and Krystyna Gebo of Yonkers, Joan and Bob Gilman of Florida, Roger Jalbert of Massachusetts, Roy Jalbert of Massachusetts, Debbie Dvorchak of Massachusetts, Robert Turner of California, Brenda Hicks of Champlain, Mark Agnew of Peru, Kevin Turner of Jay, Sheila Gallo of Connecticut and Shelby, Donna, Penny, Mickey, Wannie and Gary, all of Vermont. She is predeceased by her son, Donnie Lee Ratta; three brothers, George, Donald and Floyd; two sisters, Altha Jalbert and Hazel Gebo; and a nephew, Gary Agnew. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 1, 2005, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations in Rita’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. |
