Published: 3/3/05Alice T. RhodesPlattsburgh — Alice T. Rhodes, 75, of Gary Way, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in New York City, July 21, 1929, the daughter of Alphonse and Josephine (Black) Robinson. Alice married Walter A. Rhodes, Nov. 21, 1953, at St. Bridgets Church on Long Island. He predeceased her Oct. 23, 1997. She was employed for several years at Clinton Community College as the Assistant to the Academic Dean. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin and Debra Rhodes of Massachusetts and Robert Rhodes of Peru; three grandchildren, Thomas, Colleen and Devin all of Massachusetts; four brothers, Al, Bill, Phil and Gerry Robinson; one sister, Joann Sarro; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents; and one brother, John. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Vicente Jazmines, pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association. Lillian Rabideau BusheyMooers Forks — Lillian Rabideau Bushey, 94, of Mooers Forks, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at her residence. She was born in Mooers Forks, on July 23, 1910, the daughter of Blye and Sena (Morin) Laventure. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Mooers Forks for over 40 years and was the postmistress for 10 years. She was a member of the Mooers Senior Citizens Good Fellowship Club for over 30 years and served as president. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks and the Ladies of St. Ann Society. She was also a member of the Altar-Rosary Societies in Mooers and Rouses Point. She and her family also operated a farm for many years. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Alton and Jeannine Rabideau of the Villages, Fla., Richard Rabideau and his friend Aletta Benson of Plattsburgh, Milton and Brenda Rabideau of Altona and Homer "Red" and Joan Rabideau of Mooers Forks; 17 grandchildren, Sherry, Larry, Gary, Linda, Nancy, Sally, Dennis, Deborah, David, Kelly, Gerald, Gail, Carla, Terry, Tammy, Tina and Todd; 27 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Homer Rabideau died in 1955. Her second husband, Owen Bushey, also predeceased her. Three sisters, Harriet Laventure, Retha Bouchard and Elva Laventure; a brother, Alton Laventure; and three daughters-in-law, Gloria Rabideau, Fanny Rabideau and Cecile Rabideau, also died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. Members of Knights of Columbus Council 6136 and the Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7:30 p.m. for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Stephen D. Collins, 62, of Ellenburg Depot, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. He was born in Plattsburgh, on April 9, 1942, the son of Wilmer and Bessie (Blake) Collins. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot with Rev. Normand Cote officiating. |
