Published: 3/1/05Jordan Taylor BurdickMorrisonville — Jordan Taylor Burdick, eight years old, of Baker Road, Morrisonville, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, as the result of injuries sustained in an accident. He was born in Burlington, N.J., on April 23, 1996, son of Robert S. and Kim Marie (Lyons) Burdick. Jordan was a third grade student at Morrisonville Elementary School. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, motorcycles and four wheelers. Jordan enjoyed board games, reading and video games. He was an avid Jimmy Johnson, number 48 NASCAR fan. If a vehicle had a motor, Jordan was either riding it or watching it on television. Jordan is survived by his parents, Bob and Kim Burdick; and his sister, Kayla Chauntal Burdick of Morrisonville; paternal grandparents, Robert G. and Dorothea A. Burdick of Schuyler Falls; maternal grandfather, James Lyons of Las Vegas, Nev.; maternal great-grandmothers, Yvonne Huisman of OshKosh, Wis., and Mildred Lyons of Las Vegas, Nev.; aunts and uncles, Glenn Burdick of Plattsburgh, Kristin Burdick of Schuyler Falls, Leah Lyons of Las Vegas, Nev., Douglas Lyons of Wisconsin, and Debra and Chad Conger of OshKosh, Wis.; and many cousins. He also had many friends at McGuire, Air Force Base, New Jersey. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2005, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the family home, 64 Baker Road, Morrisonville, N.Y. Arrangements with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Margaret E. Phair GregoryELLENBURG CENTER, N.Y. — Margaret E. Phair Gregory, 91, of the Bradley Pond Road, Ellenburg Center, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on May 10, 1913, the daughter of Walter and Barbara (Conley) Hughey. Margaret married Thomas Phair on Aug. 28. 1934. Mr. Phair died on June 27, 1974. She then married Martin Gregory in St. Johns Church in Plattsburgh in November of 1977. She was employed at Plattsburgh State Teachers College for several years until her retirement in 1958. Margaret enjoyed gardening and her home was always filled with flowers. Survivors include her husband, Martin Gregory of Ellenburg Center; one daughter, Barbara Trombley of Plattsburgh; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Lisa Phair of Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two stepdaughters and their spouses, Dianne and Fred Fridley of Virginia and Donna and Roger Nephew of West Chazy; two stepsons and their spouses, Martin Jr. and Betty Gregory of Ellenburg Center and Dennis and Dawn Gregory of Ellenburg Center; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Judy Phair; three brothers, Robert Hughey, Walter Hughey and Andy Hughey; and one sister, Helen Aldridge, died earlier. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in the spring in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Ellenburg Center Rescue Squad. Burton H. RondeauBlack Brook — Burton H. Rondeau, 70, of the Haselton Road, Black Brook, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born Sept. 30, 1934, in Black Brook the son of William and Delia (Nelson) Rondeau. He was a veteran of the Korea Conflict serving from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of the American Legion Post 504 and a member of the Knights of Columbus, both of AuSable Forks. Burt was a loving husband and father and enjoyed family gatherings particularly during the holidays. He was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed feeding his birds and working in his flower garden. He also enjoyed going to Wilmington and helping his daughter at the Little Super Market. Burt was a lab technician at Georgia Pacific in Plattsburgh for many years, retiring in 1996. Survived by his wife, Lena Fournier Rondeau whom he married April 24, 1954, at the Church of Assumption in Redford. Also survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Patricia Rondeau of Black Brook, Rickey and Jenette Rondeau of Palmer Hill and Benjamin Rondeau and his wile Lori DeFreest of Albany; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca and Roy Holzer of Wilmington and Stephanie Rondeau of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Steven and his wife Amanda Rondeau, Jason Rondeau, Kayla Rondeau, Amanda Holzer, Adam Rondeau, Gabriel DeFreese-Rondeau and Lilith DeFreest-Rondeau. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Oril and Chester; and a sister, Mary. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home. Christian burial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at St. Matthew’s Church in Black Brook at 10 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Name Cemetery, AuSable Forks. Memorials to him may be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service. Richard Sanford WoottonBULL SHOALS — Dick Wootton, 71, died Feb. 13, 2005. Born in Glens Falls, March 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Dr. Richard L. and Mrs. Pauline H. Wootton. Living his early years in Champlain, he graduated from Holderness School in Plymouth, N.H., and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Dick worked most of his years as a petroleum engineer in offshore drilling and traveled and lived world wide. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Richard E. (Pamela) Wootton of Green Mountain Falls, Colo., and Steven D. (Sheree) Wootton of Munster, Ind.; one sister, Dorothy Wootton of Alburg, Vt.; and three granddaughters, Abigail and Lacey Wootton of Austin, Texas and Megan Bonke of Munster. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 49 years, Judy Earl Wootton; and their infant son, David Scott. A memorial service was held in Bull Shoals, Ark., on Feb. 17 in the United Methodist Church. Internment will take place in the spring in the family plot in Glenwood Cemetery, Champlain, N.Y. Richard C. StrongSouth Glens Falls — Richard C. Strong of South Glens Falls died on Feb. 26, 2005, at his home. Born on Feb. 26, 1934, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of the late Carleton Strong and Mertie Wrisley Strong of Willsboro, N.Y. Dick graduated from Willsboro Central School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. Dick’s favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed boats and cars. He is survived by his mother, Mertie Strong of Willsboro; his ex-wife, Sandy Costin; his son, Jamie Strong; his daughter, Julie Nicholson and her husband Clyde and their son, Dustin and daughter, Rachiel all of South Glens Falls; his brother, Ronald Strong and his wife Joan of Willsboro; his sister, Shirley Phillips of Morrisonville; and several nieces and nephews. His aunts, Velitia Shepard of Willsboro, Ella Murphy of New Jersey and Carol Wrisley of Connecticut, also survive him. No calling hours are scheduled. Services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls. Jocelyn (Abraham) MaloneCOLONIE — Jocelyn Malone, 72, died on Feb. 26, 2005, at her home in Colonie, surrounded by her devoted husband and family. She lived her life fully to her last day, despite coping with ovarian cancer for ten years. Born on Aug. 31, 1932, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to parents Bertrand and Viola (Covelle) Abraham, Jocelyn attended St. John’s High School. She later earned her school nurse teaching degree from Plattsburgh State Teacher’s College. On June 19, 1954, she married her true love, Marcus Malone of Albany. Their love grew stronger with every passing year and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004. Along with raising her five children, Jocelyn worked full time as a school nurse for the South Colonie School District for over 30 years. She retired in 1995 and despite her cancer diagnosis, Jocelyn still enjoyed a decade of traveling, shopping, golfing, Monday afternoon get togethers with her "Yahtzee Ladies" and being with her family, especially her seven grandchildren – all of whom were the treasured apples of her eye. A spiritual woman of inexhaustible energy and love, Jocelyn celebrated life each and every day. We will miss her smile, her laugh, her wisdom. Besides her parents, Jocelyn is predeceased by her younger brother, Gerry Abraham and his wife Mary Ann. Along with her husband, Marc, Jocelyn is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Shirley Abraham; her five children, son, Mark and his wife Karen of Niskayuna, son, Michael and his wife Gail of Colonie, son, Jim and his partner Brian DeHart of Chicago, daughter, Patty Kircher and her husband Mark of Queensbury and daughter, Jeanie of Saratoga Springs. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Eric and Zach Malone, Michael, Chelsea and MacKenzie Malone and Madison and Bailey Kircher; and many loved nieces and nephews. Jocelyn’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Daniel Kedentser, nurse practitioner Colleen Murray and all the staff at New York Oncology & Hematology for their insightful and compassionate care of Jocelyn. Also, we give our heartfelt thanks to Sheila Magee, RN and the entire team at Community Hospice of Albany for providing such skill and tender care to Jocelyn as well as kind support to our family through the last year, especially in these very difficult last weeks and days. Thomas CranePERU — Thomas Crane, 65, of Pleasant Street in Peru, passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in New York City on Oct. 16, 1939, son of Harold and Catherine (Murray) Crane. Thomas is survived by a brother, Harold Crane of Lowell, Mass. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 3, 2005, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005, at 11 a.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsburgh with Father William Reamer, Catholic Chaplain at CVPH Medical Center officiating. James Thomas GottPORT REPUBLIC, MD. — James Thomas Gott, 64, of Port Republic, Md., passed away on Feb. 24, 2005, at Washington Hospital Center. Beloved husband of Linda L. Gott; Devoted father of James "Jimmy" Gott and his wife Gail, Thomas "Tommy" Gott and his wife Katharine and Sandra "Sandy" Gott. Grandfather of Jared, Adam and Christian Gott. Lillian Rabideau Bushey, 94, of Mooers Forks, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at her residence. She was born in Mooers Forks on July 23, 1910, the daughter of Blye and Sena (Morin) Laventure. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. A full obituary will appear in the Thursday Press-Republican. James M. Fitzpatrick, 79, of Webster Street, Malone, N.Y., died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone. He had been a resident there since Feb. 16, 2001. He was born in Malone on May 19, 1925, the son of the late John T. and Mamie Johnson Fitzpatrick. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the spring at a date to be announced at St. Joseph's Church in Malone. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery on the Lake Titus Road in Malone in the spring. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone. |
