George Edward Lowe

Essex, N.Y. — George Edward Lowe, 79, of Blockhouse Road, Essex, N.Y., died at CVPH Medical Center Friday, Feb. 25, 2005. He was born in Mansfield, Pa., on Feb. 20, 1926, the son of Wayne and Edith Elizabeth (Morse) Lowe.

He was an administrator for Brown and Root Contractors in Houston, Texas, a member of the Essex Community United Methodist Church and Chairman of the Manse Committee, secretary of the Willsboro-Essex Kiwanis, past chairman of the Essex Republican Committee, past councilman for the Town of Essex, member of the Essex Town Board of Appeals, past chairman and secretary of the Essex Planning Board, a member of the Belden Noble Library Board, past member of the Lake Champlain Citizen Advisory Committee and member of the Essex County Grassroot Republicans. He was a member of American Legion Post 88 and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. In his younger years, he was a member of the Rotary in Cazenovia where he was also the owner and publisher of the Cazenovia Republican Newspaper.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Hurst) Lowe, whom he married in Arlington, Va., in 1970; his children, Richard Cullen Lowe and his wife Lauren of Collierville, Tenn., and Edie Lowe Morris and her husband Ross of Mechanicville, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Samantha, Elizabeth and Luke Edward Morris and Cameron and Miranda Lowe.

Friends may call at his residence on Blockhouse Road on Thursday, March 3rd, from 2 to 4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Essex Community United Methodist Church and interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.

Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Sandra Lynn (Bush) Tuccinardi

Miami, Fla. — Sandra Lynn (Bush) Tuccinardi, 35, of Miami, Fla., and formerly of Plattsburgh, died unexpectedly in Florida on Feb. 23, 2005. She was born in New Hartford, N.Y., on Oct. 20, 1969, a daughter of Henry and Laura (Reppard) Bush.

She graduated from Peru Central High School in 1987 and Clinton County Community College. Sandra graduated from Plattsburgh State in 1997 with a degree in art history. While living in Plattsburgh, she was employed at the Clinton County Council of the Arts, IHOP as a waitress, an aerobics instructor at Comfort Inn and Cardios.

She was previously married to James Tuccinardi of Florida and George Munson of Plattsburgh.

She is survived by a son, Andrew J. Tuccinardi of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her parents, Henry and Laura Bush of Plattsburgh; one sister, Cheryl Bush and one brother, Brandon Bush, both of Plattsburgh; a maternal grandmother, Leda Reppard of Boonville; and a paternal grandmother, Ellen Bush of Lowville.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St., Boonville, N.Y. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with interment at the Boonville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church, Rte. 9, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Cecile H. Lafountain

Mooers Forks — Cecile H. Lafountain, 92, of Mooers Forks, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Mooers on Oct. 21, 1912, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Rabideau) Bosley.

She was employed at the Mooers Slipper Factory and later at the Champlain Lamp Factory for many years. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks, the Ladies of St. Ann and the West Chazy Senior Citizen's Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, daughter and spouse Shirley and Gilbert Rabideau of Mooers Forks, her grandson and spouse Greg and Starr Rabideau and great - granddaughters Carissa and Kylie of Plattsburgh, her grandson and spouse Kevin and Carol Rabideau and great - granddaughter Katie of Beekmantown, her grandson and spouse Jeff and Abbie Rabideau and great - granddaughter Morgan of Morrisonville, great - granddaughter Jessie and great-grandson Josh of Richmond, Va., her grandson and spouse Scott and Mame Rabideau of Rouses Point, her granddaughter and spouse Leann and Chris Gowette and great-granddaughter Sierra of Beekmantown, daughter and spouse Doris and Timothy Sheridan of Caro, Mich., her grandson and spouse Tim and Sally Sheridan, great-granddaughters Samantha, Stephanie, Sara Shannon, great-grandson T.J., great-granddaughter and spouse Elizabeth and Tim Gross and great-great-granddaughter Laila, all of Marlette, Mich., granddaughter and spouse Michelle and Larry Whittaker and great - granddaughters Tara and Leah of Cass City, Mich., granddaughter Danielle and Brian Lavery and great - granddaughters Maggie and Molly of Deford, Mich., and grandson Philip Sheridan of Caro, Mich.

Her husband, Leo Lafountain, died Dec. 16, 1965. Three brothers and two sisters also died earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mooers Fire department or the Mooers Rescue Squad.

Joshua Douglas Jerdo

Clifton Park — Joshua Douglas Jerdo, age 23, of Clifton Park, N.Y., and formerly of Saranac Lake and a graduate of Saranac Lake High School, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y.

He was born on April 9, 1981, in Las Cruces, N.M., the son of Douglas and Deborah (Tart) Jerdo.

Joshua was a person of deep faith. In his own words, his priority was Jesus Christ, his personal Lord and Savior. He exhibited love, compassion, patience and forgiveness towards others. He had a contagious smile and enjoyed making others laugh. Josh was a self starter and a natural entrepreneur who loved computer technology and one day hoped to own his own business. He enjoyed fitness, soccer, bowling and outdoor activities including, skiing, skating, hiking, tennis and water-skiing. He was always singing around the house and while in Saranac Lake High School was in chorus, men’s ensemble and was in the musicals "Grease" and "Westside Story". He was completely committed to his family and friends and their happiness was of the utmost importance. He loved his niece and nephews and his little cousins who were always on his lap with hugs and kisses. He loved Socks, Mishca and Gabbie like members of our family and even they were drawn to him! He will be dearly missed and forever remembered. As he now lives with his Lord Jesus Christ, he will live in our hearts till we are united again one glorious day.

He is survived by his mother and father, Deborah and Douglas Jerdo of Saranac Lake, N.Y.; one brother, Brent Jerdo of Clifton Park, N.Y.; one sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Jason Wheaton of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; his maternal grandparents, Teresa and Harold Tart of Essex, N.Y.; his paternal grandparents, Etna and Raymond Jerdo of Willsboro, N.Y.; several aunts and uncles, Sharon and Jeff Kinblom and their four children of Morrisonville, N.Y., Linda and Roy Buttery and their three children of Concord, N.C., Pam and Rich Drollette and their two children of Morrisonville, N.Y., Debbie and Keith Bombard and their one child of West Chazy, N.Y., and Darlene and Karl Booth and their seven children of Clinton, N.Y.; and three nieces and nephews, Liam and Brennan Wheaton and Angelina Jerdo. He is also survived by several cousins and numerous close friends.

He was predeceased by one sister, Lindsay Jerdo; and one cousin, Chelsea Kinblom.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. A funeral vigil service will take place on Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

Friends wishing to remember Joshua Jerdo may make memorial contributions to Adirondack Chapter of Bereaved Parents of USA, the Angel of Hope, or the National Meningitis Association.

Lucy M. Papa

Plattsburgh — Lucy M. Papa, 85, of Peru Street, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born at home, 32 Charlotte St., Plattsburgh, N.Y., on April 18, 1919, the daughter of Aniello and Catherine (Negro) Papa.

Lucy operated a local news and candy store and later worked at and retired from Diamond International Paper Mill after 32 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling, participating in several leagues from the 1950s to 2002. She was a member of the Plattsburgh Women's Bowling Association Board of Directors and served as an officer. Lucy gave generously to her parish, St. John's Church.

She was predeceased by her parents, Aniello and Catherine Papa; her sisters, Grace Soldato and Rosie Bienhold; and her brothers, Joseph, Angelo and Nicholas.

Lucy is survived by a sister, Anna "Dolly" Gaito, of Plattsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 5th, at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church. Interment will be at a later date in the family plot at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations to Boystown USA, American Cancer Society, or St. John's Church.

Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

Constance St. Peter, 79, formerly of Willsboro, died at the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown, N.Y., on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005.

She was born in Weymouth, Mass., on July 2, 1925, the daughter of Henry and Gladys (Coyle) Burke.

Services and burial will take place in East Weymouth, Mass., at a later date.

Huestis Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
