Ruth M. LaPierre

West Chazy — Ruth M. LaPierre, 84, of Academy Street, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in West Chazy on July 17, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Leora (Cross) Witherill.

Ruth worked for Plattsburgh Laundry and Dry Cleaning for many years before retiring for health reasons.

Ruth enjoyed being with her family and taking part in family activities.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law and two sons and daughters-in-law, Shirley and Nelson Dickerson of Plattsburgh, Joan and Larry LaPierre, Sheldon and Teddy LaPierre and James and Sheila LaPierre. She also leaves eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service to follow in the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the West Chazy Rural Cemetery in the spring.

Barbara Carolyn Dickinson

Ticonderoga — Barbara Carolyn (Bruce) Dickinson, 89, formerly of St. Clair Street, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga.

Born in Bloomingdale, N.Y., March 27, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Pearl E. (Hyde) Bruce.

Mrs. Dickinson was a resident of Ticonderoga for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elwin James Dickinson; and by two sons, Bruce Dickerson and James Dickerson.

Survivors include nine grandchildren, Wendy Dickerson of Hollywood, Fla., Barbara Cogswell of Plattsburgh, James W. Dickerson and Roy E. Dickerson, both of Ticonderoga, Terri L. Waite and Sherie L. Sharkey, both of Glens Falls, Debra L. Dickerson of Schenectady and Bruce Dickerson and Donna Bessett, both of Ticonderoga; and her daughter-in-law, Norma Dickerson of Ticonderoga. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A funeral service will follow on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Prudence Bertolino, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate.

Interment will take place in the spring at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Herman Rock

Plattsburgh — Mr. Herman Rock, 76, of Shingle Street, Morrisonville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Cadyville on Sept. 1, 1928, son of the late George and Mabel (Rock) Rock.

Herman served in the U.S. Army. He drove truck for 37 years for Dorn's Transportation.

Herman was a member of the Teamsters Local 648, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 125 and a life member of the Peru Rod and Gun Club.

Herman is survived by his wife, the former Shirley M. Devins, of 58 years; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sondra Rock of Winooski, Vt., Darlene Duprey and her husband Roger of Peru and Deborah Morrow and her husband Millard of Morrisonville; two sons and two daughters-in-law, John Rock and his wife Brenda of Morrisonville and Eldric Rock and his wife Deanna of West Chazy; one brother and a sister-in-law, George Rock and his wife Theresa of York, Pa.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Esther Miller and her husband Ernest of Cadyville, Beatrice Arlt of Plattsburgh and Mary Muchler and her husband Robert of Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren, April Sylvester, Jason Rock, Chantelle Rock, Gabriel Rock, William Duprey and Kevin Duprey; two great - grandchildren, Owen Rock and Seth Sylvester; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by three sisters, Irene Myers, Barbara Mumblo and Theresa Upton.

At Herman's request, there will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. James Church.

Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Farrell F. Reed, 78, of 159 Nelson Road, AuSable Forks, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Danbury, Conn., on April 8, 1926, the son of Frank A. and Elizabeth (Farrell) Reed.

At Farrell’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.

Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Stephen Collins, 62, of Ellenburg Depot, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.

Arrangements were incomplete Thursday evening at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot.

Cecile H. Lafountain, 92, of Mooers Forks, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements were incomplete Thursday evening at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers.

Lucy Papa, 85, of Peru Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Francis J. Fisher, 81, of the Franklin County Nursing Home, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at that facility.

He was born May 11, 1923, in Burke, N.Y., the son of Joseph and Victoria (LaValley) Fisher.

There will be no calling hours. Spring burial will take place in St. John Bosco Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc.
