Published: 2/22/05Donald Craig WarrenWILMINGTON — Donald Craig Warren, 51, of the Haselton Road, Wilmington, passed into the arms of the Lord and the members of his family who have gone on before him, on Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake where he had been a patient since Feb. 11, 2005. He was born in Plattsburgh, May 4, 1953, the son of Earl and Helen (Marshall) Warren. He attended AuSable Forks Central High School and excelled in the sport of basketball and because of his height, his specialty was rebounding. Don graduated from there in 1971. Later on he attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass., and graduated from there as a computer programmer. He then became employed with that title at the following industries, all in Massachusetts, Munchkins Industries, Colgate-Palmolive Industries, Northrup Industries and Hits & Miss Ladies Clothing Company. Don enjoyed singing in the choirs at the Church of the Nazarene in Waymothe, Mass., and the Church of the Nazarene in Wilmington, N.Y. Don is survived by his brother, George Warren of Wilmington; two uncles, Gordon Marshall and Calvin Marshall; and cousins, Donald Marshall, Paul Marshall and Lawrence Marshall. Don was predeceased by his parents; and an uncle, John Warren of Collingswood, N.J. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held, Saturday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Wilmington, with Pastor Mark Bausman officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Haselton Cemetery in Wilmington. Memorials to him may be made to The Church of The Nazarene in Wilmington. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks is in charge of arrangements. Ruth E. TromblyCHAZY — Ruth E. Trombly, 91, of the Dunn Road, Chazy, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Chazy on April 12, 1913, the daughter of William and Julia (LaPointe) Cootware. Ruth married Merton Trombly Sr. on July 2, 1931, at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Mr. Trombly died in 1980. She attended the Chazy Central School. Ruth worked at Chazy Orchard's, The Barrel Plant in Chazy during World War II and later at Champlain College on the Old Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Mrs. Trombly was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Foster Parent's Association of Clinton County, fostering over 100 children. She was a former member of the Border Boaster Square Dance Association and the North Star Square Dance Association. Ruth enjoyed Chazy Turkey Night as well as the Chazy Old Home Days and was the queen in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Merton Trombly Jr. and his companion Josie Kosco of Trenton, N.J., and Donald "Sucket" Trombly and his wife Betty of Chazy; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Gloria) DuPrey of Spring Hill, Fla., and Crystal Stewart and her husband Foster of West Chazy; one foster daughter, Sharon Kemp of Plattsburgh; one brother, Harold Cootware and his wife Lillian of Fort Meyers, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Gerald Trombly; one daughter, Marie Bruette; three brothers, Ivan, Bill and Dennis Cootware; and three sisters, Margaret Freihofer, Mabel Goodrow and Josephine Gordan. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Chazy Lions Club. Joan F. St. CyrSARANAC — Joan F. St. Cyr, 63, of Buck's Corners Road, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Saranac on July 27, 1941, the daughter of Mose and Mabel (Rascoe) Drollette. Joan married Paul St. Cyr on Aug. 13, 1966, at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church. Joan enjoyed quilting, painting and working in her flower garden. She worked at Saint Claire's Hospital in Schenectady for 25 years returning back to the North Country in 1998. Survivors include her husband, Paul J. St. Cyr of Saranac; seven sisters, Marie and Bernard Lashway of Standish, Veronica Barber of Cadyville, Rita Drollette of Saranac, Rosalie Magoon of Saranac, Shirley and Carl Bruce of Saranac, Linda Drollette of Saranac and Eliza and Bobby Castine of Chazy; three brothers, Edward Drollette of Saranac, Howard Drollette of Saranac and his wife Connie Drollette of Morrisonville and Charles and Marie Drollette of Holcomb; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Florence and Harlan Douglas of Schenectady; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Duane Arnold CrammondTiconderoga — Duane Arnold Crammond, 24, of Preston Hollow and formerly of Ticonderoga, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, as a result of an automobile accident. Born in Middlebury, Vt., Jan. 28, 1981, he was the son of Arnold F. Crammond of Fort Myers, Fla., and Deanne D. Dresser of North Hudson. Duane lived in Ticonderoga all of his life. He was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School, class of 1999. He was valedictorian of his class with his twin sister as the salutatorian. He was also a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.) of Troy, where he earned a chemical engineering degree. He was presently employed by Stiefel Laboratories of Oak Hill as a chemical engineer. Duane was an accomplished cross country runner, both at the high school and college level. He participated in cross country, track and indoor track for Ticonderoga High School and R.P.I. of Troy. He also ran for local groups such as the LaChute Group and Adirondack Road Runners. He also ran in many marathons including the Schroon Lake Marathon for two years, finishing 1st place in 2003, as well as many other road races. Survivors in addition to his parents include two sisters, Rebecca J. Hutchins of Schodack Landing and his twin sister, Ruth Ann Crammond of Albany; his maternal grandmother, Helene DeLano of North Hudson; his stepfather, Donald F. Dresser of North Hudson; his uncle, Bruce Crammond of Ticonderoga; and his aunt, Claire Moore of North Hudson. He is also survived by several cousins. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. The Rev. Prudence Bertolino, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. John BusheyLake Placid — Mr. John L. Bushey, 72, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. He was born July 1, 1932, in Black Brook, the son of Lester and Mary (Roberts) Bushey. He retired from ORDA in Lake Placid in 1994. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a combat veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army Infantry. He married Julia A. Bashaw on Aug. 30, 1953. They were married at the Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks. He is survived by his wife, Julia Bushey; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Bushey of Lake Placid and Mark and Vivian Bushey of Wilmington; two grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael of AuSable Forks; two sisters, Judy Wilkins, also of AuSable Forks and Nancy Ward of Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Halsey in 1967; his mother, Mary in 1986; his father, Lester in 1987; his brother, James in 1993; two sisters, Mary Jane and Elenor; and a brother-in-law, Bill in 1998. Calling hours are Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks, followed immediately by services. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Name Cemetery in AuSable Forks. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service or Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service. Helen A. "Tina" Mischler, 84, of Prospect Avenue, Plattsburgh died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility under the care of Hospice with her friends by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jan. 14, 1921, the daughter of David and Jessie (Burdo) Mischler. At Tina's request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, from St. John's Church. Internment will be at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery. Reta I. Torrance, 90, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., where she had been a resident since May of 2000. She was born in Lake Placid, July 17, 1914, the daughter of Carroll and Bertha (Jones) Potter. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, Fla., at a later date. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. |
