Williams, 61, of Jay Street, Plattsburgh, and Melbourne, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Glens Falls, N.Y., on July 25, 1943, the daughter of Anthony and Loretta (Favreau) Drollette. Rose was dedicated to serving the public, having worked at Surrey Lounge as manager, Anthony's Restaurant as manager, WalMart Jewelry Department Manager and most recently employed at Shell's Seafood Restaurant in Melbourne, Fla. Rose touched many lives and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her father, Anthony Drollette; her brothers, Homer "Rocky" Drollette and Mike Drollette. She is survived by her mother, Loretta Drollette of Plattsburgh; her children, Debbie Alexander and her long term honey JR Durham of Plattsburgh, Cathy Collette of Plattsburgh, Richard Stephenson and his fiancée Amy Dashnaw of Melbourne, Fla.; her grandchildren, Joshua Alexander of Glens Falls, N.Y., Kaitlyn Dashnaw of Melbourne, Fla., Amanda Panozzo of Plattsburgh, Russell Ducharme of Plattsburgh; her sisters, Bernadette "Bunnie" Cork and her husband Jerry of Plattsburgh, Loretta Drollette and her companion John Lawliss Jr. of Plattsburgh, Patricia Simpson of Plattsburgh; her brothers, Anthony Drollette and his wife Tami of Plattsburgh, John Drollette and his wife Donna of Plattsburgh, Paul Drollette and his companion Sandy Bazzano of Peru, Charles Drollette of Melbourne, Fla., and Richard Drollette of Melbourne, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. from St. Peter's Church. Interment will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations to the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots. Roy Edward PeryeaAltona — Mr. Roy Edward Peryea, 84, of the Duley Road, Altona, N.Y., passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility in Plattsburgh. He was born in Altona on July 28, 1920, the son of Eugene and Eva (Recore) Peryea. Roy was self employed as a dairy farmer all of his life and he was formerly a member of the Altona Fire Department for 18 years. He married Lillian Mary LaFountain on Feb. 2, 1946. She predeceased him on May 13, 2004. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Eva Peryea; a brother, Guy Peryea; his brothers-in-law, Elmer Oliver and William Trudo. He was also predeceased by family members of his wife, his brothers-in-law, Earl, Noah, Alfred, Edward LaFountain and sisters-in-law, Cecile Rabideau and Lena LaValley. Roy is survived by his sisters, Gladys Trudo of Syracuse and Frances Oliver of West Chazy; a brother, Ernest Peryea and his wife Grace of Plattsburgh; a sister-in-law, Fleur-ange Peryea of Plattsburgh; his brothers-in-law, Richard Rabideau of Mooers Forks, Owen LaFountain and his wife Lucille of Altona; his sisters-in-law, Doris LaFountain of Plattsburgh, Eva Gilman and her husband Raymond of Altona and Irene Puryea and her husband Herman of Altona; and several nieces and nephews. At Roy's request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. from Holy Angels Church in Altona. Entombment will follow in the Whispering Maples Mausoleum on the Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh. Friends wishing may have Masses said in his memory. Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Altona. Lawrence S. AllenWestport/Bradenton, Fla. — Lawrence S. Allen, 88, of Front Street, Westport, died peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Bradenton Health Care. He was born on his family farm near Crown Point, N.Y., on March 10, 1916, the son of Elden and Isabell (Edgerly) Allen. Following his cum laude graduation from St. Lawrence University, he began his career teaching science in Goshen, N.Y. Enlisting in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he had a distinguished career. Serving as a Lt. Jr. Grade, he was posted to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Bell Laboratories and Princeton University, where he helped develop radar theory and wrote the Navy radar training manuals. Lawrence was temporarily posted to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and served as radar officer aboard a destroyer escort. His ship was 90 miles off Japan when word of the atomic bomb leveling Hiroshima was received and the ship turned away. Returning from World War II, Lawrence become the treasurer for Allen Industries, a contracting business built by his father, Elden Allen and in which he and his brothers Lester, Levi and Angelo, all played a part. Allen Industries constructed many commercial and private properties in the area, the most notable being the stone pavilion of Fort St. Fredericks at Chimney Point, Crown Point. During the winters, Allen Industries produced a laminated wooden ski, which was used by many area youngsters learning to ski. In the early 60s, Allen brothers, with the help of local volunteers, designed and built a ski lodge on Bald Pate Mountain near Crown Point. Levi Allen built the large, four-sided fireplace in the center of the lodge. Lawrence designed a rope tow powered by an old truck engine. And even their father Eldon Allen pitched in, painting the lodge. Area families from Crown Point enjoyed skiing at the area during holidays and weekends. When Don and Beverley McIntyre moved to Westport, the Westport Central School bus brought Westport ski program students to Bald Pate Mountain. Lawrence began and ended his career in education, teaching high school science and math at Crown Point Central School and all sciences at Westport Central School. In his retirement years, he returned to his family roots and many evidences of his frame making custom cabinetry exist throughout Westport. He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Sigma Pi Sigma Fraternity, a national physics honor society of the American Institute of Physics and a member of a national honor society for educators. Locally, Lawrence belonged to Rescue Lodge 722 F.&A.M. of Crown Point, N.Y. He proudly wore his 50 and 60-year membership pins and was a past master of the lodge. He was also a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and New York State United Teachers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bradley Allen; his stepdaughters, Theresa (Griswold) and James Kapper and Karen (Griswold) and Charles Metras, both of Bradenton, Fla.; his daughter, Laura Allen of Boston, Mass., and San Francisco; and his sister-in-law, Ida Allen of Crown Point, N.Y. He leaves behind five grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen and Bradley Kapper of Bradenton, Fla., and Rachel and Alex Metras of Bradenton, Fla. Also, his nieces and nephews, Lorin and Carol LaPorte of North Carolina, Bruce and Luceille LaPorte in the Chicago, Ill., area, Donna and Jules Gryckiewicz of Putnam, Conn., Jeff and Gwen Heller of Denver, Colo., and Terry Heller and Cathy Heller, both of whom live near Fresno, Calif. Also, Denzibel (Bruno) Meyjes of Midland, Texas, Levi and Diane Allen of Novato, Calif., Ronald Allen of Hadley, N.Y., Douglas Allen of Crown Point, N.Y., Solomon Allen of Crown Point and Angelo Allen of Port Henry. Lawrence is predeceased by his first wife, Joan (Worden) Allen; and his siblings, Alma and William LaPorte, Geneva and David Heller, Lester and Ellen Allen, Irene and Edward Bruno, Levi and Lillian Allen, Levi’s first wife, Isabel (Dean) Allen and Angelo Allen. A wake will be held at Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at Crown Point Congregational Church on Monday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Westport Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 375, Westport, NY 12993. Douglas C. StoneLake Luzerne, N.Y. — Douglas C. Stone, 74, died at Glens Falls Hospital Friday morning, Feb. 18, 2005, due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Born on Aug. 4, 1930, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Clifford O. and Carrie L. (Raymond) Stone. After graduating from Warrensburg Central School, where he received the Bausch and Lomb Science Award, Douglas attended Albany College of Pharmacy, achieving a bachelor of science degree. While in high school, Douglas played varsity football and baseball and was considered to be outstanding in basketball. He was a significant contributor on championship teams in both football and basketball. Douglas once set the Saratoga Convention Hall sectional scoring record in basketball. He played on his college basketball team and in 1976 was named to the Albany College of Pharmacy Sports Hall of Fame, the second alumnus to be inducted. On Sept. 6, 1952, Douglas married his high school sweetheart, Beatrice A. Magee, in Lake Pleasant. He was employed as a pharmacist in Warrensburg for one year before purchasing Millward’s Pharmacy in Lake Luzerne in 1953, renaming it Stone’s Pharmacy. He owned and operated the business until his retirement in 1992. Douglas sold it to his long time partner, Robert K. Fosberry. Being an active athlete all his life, Douglas enjoyed tennis, skiing and golf. He was an original investor in the Queensbury Tennis Club and was also an original investor/member of the Bend of the River Golf Course in Hadley. Douglas was an active communicant of the Church of the Holy Infancy and served on the parish finance committee. He was a member of the Lake Luzerne Chamber of Commerce and for many years was active in the Lion’s Club. Also, he served on the Advisory Board of the State Bank of Albany. Douglas will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Although he was widely recognized as a successful pharmacist and businessman, he will be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, a wonderful dad and a fun loving grandpa. Low key and even-tempered, Douglas lived his life with a fair mind and a friendly smile, earning the respect of everyone he met. His wife of 52 years, Beatrice Stone, survives him along with their two sons and three daughters. Surviving sons are Daniel Stone and his wife Yvette of Corinth, Gregory Stone and his wife Christine of Schroon Lake. Daughters are Kathleen Randall and her husband Robert of Queensbury, Clare Stone and her husband Martin Wencek of Wakefield, R.I., Valerie Stahl and her husband James of Moriah. Also surviving is one sister, Joyce Frulla and her husband Robert of Gainesville, Va.; nine grandchildren, Justin and Larissa Randall, Travis, Kendra and Tanner Stone, Kira and Calder Wencek and Madison and Joseph Stahl; three stepgrandchildren, Casey, Tyson and Katie O’Connell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Holy Infancy, Lake Luzerne with the Rev. Charles A. Gaffigan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Infancy Cemetery, Lake Luzerne. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne. Perry, 80, of Flynn Avenue, Plattsburgh, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Redford on Oct. 28, 1924, son of the late Edward J and Sadie T. (Gonyea) Perry. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at 9 a.m. in Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Harold Andrew Minckler, 81, of Depot Street, Chateaugay, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at his home. He was born in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., on June 13, 1923, the son of William and Myrtle (Atkinson) Minckler. Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Demo of St. Patrick’s Church officiating. Spring burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chateaugay. Virginia M. Law, 83, a resident of the Farrar Home in Malone since February 2004, and formerly of 75 Pleasant St., Malone, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, where she had been a patient since Feb. 3rd. She was born in Malone on Sept. 4, 1921, the daughter of the late Clarence "Lefty" and Mae (Tyo) Dumas. There are no calling hours. There will be a celebration of her life on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Potsdam, N.Y., later in the spring. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service of Malone. Mabel (Bailey) Stamm, 95, of Springfield, N.J., and formerly of' Keene, N.Y., died Feb. 17, 2005. She was born Sept. 20, 1909, in Keene, N.Y., the daughter of Jim and Clara (Smith) Bailey. No calling hours will be held. A graveside service will be held at Norton Cemetery in the spring. W.M. Marvin's Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements. Rose Pearl Meerte Renaud, 88, died on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, in Montreal, Quebec. Visitation will be held at the Urgel Bourgie (514-735-2025), 3955 Cote de Liesse (corner Ste-Croix), St-Laurent, on Saturday, Feb. 26th, from 10 a.m., with a memorial service at noon, followed by a celebration of her life at 12:30 p.m. Interment at St-Anicet, Quebec, in the spring. William P. Callaghan, 59, of Craig, Colo., and formerly of Tupper Lake, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. He was born on July 2 1945, in Saranac Lake, the son of Lawrence and Shirley (Sweet) Callaghan. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. A funeral Mass at Holy Name Church will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Bloomingdale in the spring. Herman J. Bow, 77, of 78 Constable St., Malone, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. He had been a patient there since Feb. 11th. He was born in Ellenburg, N.Y., on April 29, 1927, the son of the late Charles and Mattie (Yell) Bow. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church.
