Published: 2/18/05Donald H. Bresette Sr.Plattsburgh — Donald H. Bresette Sr., 64, of Blake Road, Plattsburgh, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, Nov. 10, 1940, the son of John and Dora (Hackett) Bresette. He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged Aug. 8, 1961. Don was a member of the AMVETS in Keeseville and the Plattsburgh Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorien and Patrick LaDuke of Champlain, Christine Bressette of Glens Falls and Sara and Bob Duval of Plattsburgh; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald H. Jr., and Melissa Bressette of Plattsburgh; one sister, Phyllis Hawkins of Rochester; eight brothers and spouses, John and Kathy Bresett of Keeseville, Reginald and Sandra Bressette of Westville, Jerry and Linda Bressette of Watertown, Richard and Jean Bresette of Keeseville, Robert and Gina Bresette of Keeseville, Joey Bresette, David Bresette and Michael Bresette, all of Keeseville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his former wife and friend, Carolyn Bressette; a brother, Edward; and two sisters, Peggy Ann Bresette and Mary Bresette. Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville with Rev. William Reamer, chaplain of the CVPH Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Evergreen Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the family. John a. (Jack) HuestisTiconderoga — John a. (Jack) Huestis, 68, of Streetroad, Ticonderoga, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga with his wife of 46 years, his daughter and his daughter-in-law at his side. Born Oct. 22, 1936, in Streetroad, Ticonderoga, he was the son of the late Altus and Amanda (Provoncha) Huestis. Mr. Huestis was a dairy farmer and sold vegetables at his stand on Streetroad until he became ill and retired. He served 27 years in the National Guard and retired as a major. Mr. Huestis was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga and was a third degree member of the St. Isaac Jogues Council 333 Knights of Columbus of Ticonderoga. He served as Grand Knight from 1978 until 1979. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Fuller) Huestis; a loving son and daughter-in-law, John Philip and Susanne Huestis; and a loving daughter, Julie Marie LaPointe; five beloved grandchildren, who Jack adored, Mary Evelyn LaPointe, Karl Joseph LaPointe III, Paul Edward LaPointe, Nicole Elizabeth Huestis and Kaitlyn Suzanne Huestis, all of Ticonderoga; a brother, Philip Huestis of Ticonderoga; a sister, Nancy Delage of Red Hook; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by a son-in-law, Karl Joseph LaPointe II; and a brother-in-law, Roger Delage. A special thank you to Gerald (Spank) Huestis for being there for Jack in his time of need, remembering all the good times they had (Alan, Jack and Spank). Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. The Knights of Columbus will gather for evening prayers at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga. A reception will be held, following the Mass on Monday, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Montcalm Street, Ticonderoga. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to St. Mary's School, 301 Amherst Ave., Ticonderoga, NY 12883. Richard T. Sweet, 75, of County Route 33, Chateaugay, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, NY. He was born in Burlington, Vt., on Feb. 3, 1930, the son of Theodore and Isabel (Dvoid) Sweet. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. only. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Derek Trudell officiating. Irma C. LaPlant, 63, of LaCount St., Chateaugay, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y. She was born in Syracuse, N.Y., on May 28, 1941, the daughter of Charlie and Betsy Alderman. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Francis Wood officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home. Ethel Mae Beaudin Smith, 79, of State Route 37, Fort Covington, N.Y., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y. She had been a patient there since Feb. 16th. She was born in Fort Covington, July 8, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Cartier) Smith. There are no calling hours. Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the new St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Covington. Arrangements are through the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. |
