Mary Perkett Jones

Schenectady — Mary (Perky) Jones, 81, passed away on Jan. 18, 2005, at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. She was a resident of the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past three years.

Born in Keeseville, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Edith Perkett.

She moved to Schenectady in 1942, to work on the assembly line at General Electric. She married N. Daniel Jones in 1951, and left G.E. to become a homemaker and to raise children. She enjoyed sports, being a Girl Scout leader, neighborhood volunteer, bowling, square dancing, knitting and bridge.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Pamela Jones of St. Paul, Minn., and Dr. Leslie Jones (Richard Darsie) of Davis, Calif.; and two grandsons, Brendan and Sean Darsie both of Davis, Calif. She is also survived by two sisters, Ann Arnold and Margaret Gionet of Keeseville, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, William, Jude and Emile Perkett; and her sister, Lillian Blood.

A memorial service will be held in Keeseville at a later date.

It has been kindly requested that memorials in her name be made to the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 297 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State Street, Schenectady, NY.

Albert E. Martin Sr.

Champlain — Albert E. "Muskrat" Martin Sr., 69, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by family.

Born in Rouses Point, on June 27, 1935, he was the son of Edward E. and Beatrice (Gero) Martin.

Albert worked for the Village of Rouses Point and was a member of the American Legion 912 in Rouses Point, having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going for long rides with his wife. He also loved spending time with his granddaughter, Ashley Rose, and his nephew, Shane.

Survivors include his wife, Edith R. (LaFountain) Martin of Champlain; three sons, Albert E. Martin and his companion Jennifer LaDuke of Rouses Point, Brad Martin and his wife Gail of Rouses Point and Carl Martin of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Brenda Martin of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Fred and Philip Martin both of Rouses Point; a sister, Dora Breyette of Ellenburg Depot; a granddaughter, Ashley Rose Martin of Rouses Point; and several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Tina Marie; and a brother, Donald.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Champlain. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Department or to the Champlain Fire Department.

Marshall Wayne Hathaway

PLATTSBURGH — Marshall Wayne Hathaway, 65, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born April 21, 1939, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the son of Raymond and Ethel (Strong) Hathaway.

Mr. Hathaway was a member of the Willsboro United Methodist Church. In his younger years he served in the United States Air Force, worked for General Dynamics and was the manager of the Willsboro Dock and Coal. He was also retired from the Willsboro Highway Department. Marshall and his wife Ethel (Palmer) owned and ran the "Ethel's Dew Drop Inn" for 30 years. His hobbies included playing cards, especially poker, playing slot machines and traveling up and down the east coast with his beloved wife.

Mr. Hathaway is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ethel; his children, Cary Hathaway and Lisa Baker and her husband Gary (Doc); his grandchildren, Justin and Shelby Jennette, Hannah Sue Baker and Trevor and Trisha Hathaway; his sisters and brothers, Vaughn and wife Hilda Hathaway, Carl and wife Mary Hathaway, Alberta and husband Dick Curran, Robert and wife Peggy Hathaway and Bradley and wife Linda Hathaway; his in-laws, Thelma Palmer, Joan and Otis Jones, Edith and Ronald Tyrrell, MaryAnn Crowningshield, Bill and Annie Palmer, Betty and James Phillips and his best friend Alan Hutchins.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huestis Funeral Home, Maple Street, Willsboro. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Willsboro United Methodist Church.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Willsboro Fire Department.

Larry R. Plumadore

Saranac — Larry R. "Plum" Plumadore, 51, of Strackville Road, Saranac, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, following a nearly four-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Plattsburgh, Jan. 2, 1954.

He was very dedicated to his work. Most recently he was employed with Tracy Trombley Construction in Morrisonville. Prior to that he worked in the woods. Plum was a son, boyfriend, father, brother, cousin, uncle, co-worker and friend. During his life, Plum touched many people and was touched by many people including the staff on R5 at CVPH to which the family are grateful for the care and compassion received during his illness. He became a hero for many people during his battle with cancer. He loved life, hunting, his camp, dancing, helping others, driving his truck and tractor and his buddy Bandit. Plum lived full for the moment and never gave up, pushing to the limit and became a miracle to all.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Redford with Rev. Philip Allen, pastor of the Holy Name Church in AuSable Forks, and St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook, celebrating.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Kirsten L. Dumas

Gansevoort — Kirsten L. Dumas, 28, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Medical Center, in Burlington, Vt., due to injuries sustained in an accident.

She was born Dec. 27, 1976, in Bay Shore, N.Y., the daughter of Theodore and the late Linda (Jakubik) Kolffvanoosterwyk.

Kirsten was an avid hiker and loved the Adirondacks. Her greatest joy was her children.

Her mother, Linda Ann Kolffvanoosterwyk; her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mildred Jakubik; her paternal grandparents, Lambert and Mildred Kolffvanoosterwyk, predeceases her.

She is survived by her husband, David Dumas; daughter, Elizabeth Kolffvanoosterwyk; and son, Joseph Dumas, all of Gansevoort. Her father, Theodore and step-mother Ellen Kolffvanoosterwyk of Altona, N.Y.; her sister, Karen Poupore and husband Paul of Mooers Forks, N.Y.; brother, T.J. Kolffvanoosterwyk and wife Christina of Bossier City, La.; sister, Kiera Kolffvanoosterwyk of Altona, N.Y.; and her aunts, Elianor Kolffvanoosterwyk of Plattsburgh, Lanel Jakubik of Knoxville, Tenn., and Arlene Jackson, also of Knoxville, Tenn., survive her.

A memorial service will celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury, with Pastor Mike Padula, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Kirsten’s honor to Moreau Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1583 Route 9, Fort Edward, NY 12828.

Larry Whitaker, 49, of Racetrack Road, Ticonderoga, formerly of Moriah died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at the Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga.

He was born July 14, 1955, in Ticonderoga, the son of Robinson and Theresa (Rheaurne) Whitaker.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Westport Bible Church, Westport, N.Y.

Vivian L. Warrington, formally of River Street, Lake Placid, N.Y., died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

She was born in Newman (Lake Placid), N.Y., Feb. 17, 1917, the daughter of Harry and Carrie (Hough) Warrington.

There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Mark Demers, Rev. Andrea Sears and Rev. Kenneth Mihill will officiate. Burial will follow at North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.

James Martin McGuire, 88, of Hague, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.

He was born in Trenton, N.J., on Sept. 6, 1916.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Buchanan officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the family plot of the May Memorial Cemetery of Hague.
