NORTH LAWRENCE — Mrs. Eula Sargeant, 84, of County Route 55 and formerly of Mooers, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at her home. She was born in Durhamville, N.Y., on March 31, 1919, daughter of the late Allen and Mildred (Warner) Lennon.

Eula was a lifetime member of the Mooers United Methodist Church. She retired from F.W. Meyers in Rouses Point after many years.

Eula is survived by her five children, Gary and Elaine Sargeant of Plattsburgh and their three children, Jay, Jamie, and Jodie; Larry and Joni Sargeant of Little Falls and their children, Allen, Jennifer and Shawn; Roger and Leda Sargeant of Mooers and their children, Bentley, Breck and Brad; Joy Shearer of North Lawrence and her children, Nicholas, Christopher, Stewart and Holly; Dale Sargeant of Chazy and his daughter, Stephanie; one sister, Doris, of Florida and Fonda; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bentley Miner Sargeant, who passed away in 1971.

Following Eula’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. She was remembered Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at the 10 a.m. services at the Mooers United Methodist Church, with Pastor Al Johnson officiating.

Donations in her memory may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center or Hospice of the North Country.

JEREMY LEAHY, 19, of 29 O’Connell Road, Constable, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, as a result of a motor vehicle accident, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.

He was born in Malone on June 1, 1985, the son of Thomas and Susan (Ryan) Leahy.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Constable with the Rev. Francis Flynn officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Constable in the spring.

META RAE LeCLAIR, 79, of Keene, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

She was born June 14, 1925, the daughter of W. Newton and Helen (LaBelle) James. No calling hours will be held; a memorial service is being planned for later this year.

Arrangements are with W.M. Marvin’s Son Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
