Published: 01/23/05Elizabeth H. D'AttilloTiconderoga — Elizabeth H. "Lib" D'Attillo, 82, of Queensbury and formerly of Ticonderoga, passed away Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at her residence. Born in Crown Point, she was the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Porter) Woods. Mrs. D’Attilio was a resident of Ticonderoga, for most of her life. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and caring for her pet birds. Lib was a big NY Mets fan attending many games at Shea Stadium over the years. She especially loved her family and took great pride in her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank D'Attilio on Oct. 26, 1985. She was also predeceased by one daughter, Diane L. D’Attilio; and by one brother, Norman Woods. Survivors include two sons, Daniel D'Attilio of Port Henry and Darryl D'Attilio of Ticonderoga; one daughter, Lynne D'Attilio Eisenberg of Glens Falls; one brother, Leon Woods of Ticonderoga; and one sister, Lois Ledger of Ticonderoga. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. William G, Muench, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Veronica HennesseyPort Henry — Veronica Hennessey, 84, of Broad Street, Port Henry, N.Y., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown, N.Y. She was born May 31, 1920, in Moriah, N.Y., the daughter of Ryan and Theresa (Spellman) Hennessey. She was a business teacher for 37 years. She taught at Willsboro High School, Port Henry High School and Moriah Central School. She graduated with a bachelor of sciences from St. Rose College in Albany and with a master of sciences from St. Lawrence University in Potsdam, N.Y. She was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her cousins, Charles Malone of Arizona, Mary Callahan of Albany, James Spellman of Selden, N.Y., and John Ryan of Peru, N.Y. She was predeceased by her parents. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Port Henry. Spring burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Moriah. Donations in Veronica’s memory may be made to the Horace Nye Nursing Home Activity Fund. Eula E. Sargeant, 84, of County Route 55, North Lawrence, and formerly of Route 22B in Morrisonville, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at the home of her daughter. She was born in Durhamville, on March 31, 1919, the daughter of the late Allen and Mildred (Warner) Lennon. She will be remembered Sunday at the 10 a.m. service at the United Methodist Church in Mooers. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Carlene L. LaWare, 21, of Peru, N.Y. died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at the Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. She was born Oct. 20, 1983, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., the daughter of Eugene LaWare and Dorene (Perry) LaWare. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry and funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. |
