Andrew Hayes Brennan

Brick, N.J. — Andrew Hayes Brennan, 20, of Brick, N.J., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, in Howell.

Born in New Bedford, Mass., he lived in Colchester, Conn., before moving to Brick in 1987. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School and was a junior at Rutgers College.

A very accomplished sailor, he was an active member of Metedeconk River Yacht Club in Brick. He was the 2001 Junior North American Lightning champion and was on the 2003 Junior Snipe Champion Crew. He also won many other major sailing regattas. He loved snowboarding and ice hockey. He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant Beach.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Donald Brennan Sr.

Surviving are his parents, Donald H. Brennan Jr. and Lisa Scott-Brennan of Brick; a sister, Kalene Brennan of Brick; his maternal grandparents, Owen and Eleanor Scott of Ashaway, R.I.; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Brennan of Morrisonville, N.Y.; his aunts and uncles, Maribeth O’Toole, Michael Brennan, Maureen Breyette, Marty Brennan, Donna Corbishly, Merri Jeanne Pellerin, Debra Neher, D’Ann Benevides, Stephen Scott Sr., Jeffrey Scott and Kristy Tavares; his girlfriend, Leigh Ann Baglin of Green Brook; and many cousins.

Viewing hours were held Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick, N.J. The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Junior Sailing Program at Metedeconk River Yacht Club, Brick, N.J.

Robert W. Kyea

AUSABLE FORKS — Robert W. Kyea, 63, of Hazen Road, AuSable Forks, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 19, 2005, while under the care of High Peaks Hospice.

He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in AuSable Forks, the son of Jerry and Marie (Sawyer) Kyea.

He graduated from AuSable Forks Central School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962 during the Vietnam Era and received an honorable discharge. He worked 39 years at the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Keeseville, and retired in 1998 where many friendships were made. He was very active in his community. He belonged to the American Legion and was a life member of Medos A. Nelson Post 504 in AuSable Forks, were he was Post Commander from 1983 to 1985, 1991 to 1992 and 2003 to 2004. He was Legionnaire of the year in 1989 to 1990, 1998 to 1999 and Clinton County Commander in 1989 to 1990. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E Lodge 2072 in Keeseville. He was a member of the AuSable Forks Fastpitch Association first as a player and then as an Officer of the Association. The annual tournament held in July 1986, was dedicated to him. He enjoyed playing basketball and was a member of Meconi’s XL’s of the AuSable Forks League. He was also active in the AuSable Forks Spirits Baseball team of the Champlain Valley baseball league in the 1970’s, 1980’s and early 1990’s. He enjoyed bobsledding, bowling, golf and a avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants as well as the NY Knicks.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Hazen) Kyea, they were married May 15, 1965; his son, Chris; his daughter, Kathy and her companion James Parker; and two grandchildren, Brody and Bryce; three brothers, Floyd, Marvin and his wife Pam, all of AuSable Forks and Paul and his wife Carolyn of Plattsburgh; three sisters, Virginia Wray of Vestal, Gertrude Klubertanz of Rochester and Marlene Kyea of Queensbury; two sister-in-laws, Gail Kyea of Plattsburgh and Donna Kyea of AuSable Forks; and many nieces and nephews; and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Charlotte; and three brothers, Wallace, Leonard and Roger.

Calling hours will be Friday, Jan. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Holy Name School, P.O. 657, AuSable Forks, NY 12912.

Mary E. Callander

Lyon MountainMary Elizabeth (Gough) Bright Campbell Cain Callander, 83, of Lyon Mountain, N.Y., died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, in Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

She was born Sept. 24, 1921, near Goshen, Va., a daughter of Fred Lewis and Sallie Catherine (Mooney) Gough. Following the untimely death of her mother, Mary was raised by Harve B. Rowe and Lena Catherine (Morris) Rowe Simmons.

Prior to retirement, she was employed in food service.

She was preceded in death by four husbands, Robert Homer Bright, William Francis Campbell, Alfred Fred "Jake" Cain and John Franklin Callander Jr.; a daughter, Frances Elizabeth Henderson; three sisters, Helen Vest, Billie McCombs and Ruby Shoulder; and two brothers, Pete and Richard Gough.

Surviving are six children, Erma Gough Byrd of Lyon Mountain, N.Y., Barbara Ann Morgan of LaPlata, Md., Catherine Elaine Peters of Deerfield, Va., Wanda Evelyn Hetrick of West Augusta, Va., Kenneth Douglas Cain of Charlotte Hall, Md., and Wyatt Kelly Cain of Odessa, N.Y.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Bear Funeral Home, Churchville, Va., with burial in Deerfield Community Cemetery, Deerfield, Va.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service and other times at the home of Bobby and Catherine Peters, 3844 Deerfield Valley Rd., Deerfield, Va.

Joseph Frank Izzo, 89, of 102 Lake George Dr., Ticonderoga, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.

He was born Oct. 24,1915, in Meriden, Conn., the son of the late Frank and Dioniggia (Minucci) Izzo.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Traver & McCurry Funeral Home, Catskill.

Donald Francis Chamberlain, 71, of Goddeau Road, Cadyville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on June 26, 1933, son of Francis and Marie (White) Chamberlain.

Calling hours will be Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Cadyville. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. William Reamer, Catholic chaplain at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, officiating. Burial will be later in the year in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru.
