Published: 1/20/05Andres Hayes BrennanBrick, N.J. — Andres Hayes Brennan, 20, of Brick, N.J., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, in Howell. Born in New Bedford, Mass., he lived in Colchester, Conn., before moving to Brick in 1987. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School and was a junior at Rutgers College. A very accomplished sailor, he was an active member of Metedeconk River Yacht Club in Brick. He was the 2001 Junior North American Lightning champion and was on the 2003 Junior Snipe Champion Crew. He also won many other major sailing regattas. He loved snowboarding and ice hockey. He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant Beach. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Donald Brennan Sr. Surviving are his parents, Donald H. Brennan Jr. and Lisa Scott-Brennan of Brick; a sister, Kalene Brennan of Brick; his maternal grandparents, Owen and Eleanor Scott of Ashaway, R.I.; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Brennan of Morrisonville, N.Y.; his aunts and uncles, Maribeth O’Toole, Michael Brennan, Maureen Breyette, Marty Brennan, Donna Corbishly, Merri Jeanne Pellerin, Debra Neher, D’Ann Benevides, Stephen Scott Sr., Jeffrey Scott and Kristy Tavares; his girlfriend, Leigh Ann Baglin of Green Brook; and many cousins. Viewing hours were held Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick, N.J. The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Junior Sailing Program at Metedeconk River Yacht Club, Brick, N.J. Robert W. KyeaAUSABLE FORKS — Robert W. Kyea, 63, of Hazen Road, AuSable Forks, passed away peacefully in his in his sleep on Jan. 19, 2005, while under the care of High Peaks Hospice. He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in AuSable Forks, the son of Jerry and Marie (Sawyer) Kyea. He graduated from AuSable Forks Central School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962 during the Vietnam Era and received an honorable discharge. He worked 39 years at the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Keeseville, and retired in 1998 where many friendships were made. He was very active in his community. He belonged to the American Legion and was a life member of Medos A. Nelson Post 504 in AuSable Forks, were he was Post Commander from 1983 to 1985, 1991 to 1992 and 2003 to 2004. He was Legionnaire of the year in 1989 to 1990, 1998 to 1999 and Clinton County Commander in 1989 to 1990. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E Lodge 2072 in Keeseville. He was a member of the AuSable Forks Fastpitch Association first as a player and then as an Officer of the Association. The annual tournament held in July 1996, was dedicated to him. He enjoyed playing Basketball and was a member of Meconi’s XL’s of the AuSable Forks League. He was also active in the AuSable Forks Spirits Baseball team of the Champlain Valley baseball league in the 1970’s, 1980’s and early 1990’s. He enjoyed bobsledding, bowling, golf and a avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants as well as the NY Knicks. He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Hazen) Kyea, they were married May 15, 1965; his son, Chris; his daughter, Kathy and her companion James Parker; and two grandchildren, Brody and Bryce; Three brothers, Floyd, Marvin and his wife Pam all of AuSable Forks, Paul and his wife Carolyn of Plattsburgh; three sisters, Virginia Wray of Vestal, Gertrude Klubertanz of Rochester and Alariene Kyea of Queensbury; two sister-in-laws, Gail Kyea of Plattsburgh and Donna Kyea of AuSable Forks; and many nieces and nephews; and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Charlotte; three brothers, Wallace, Leonard and Roger. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Holy Name School, P.O. 657, AuSable Forks, NY 12912. Mary A. GreenoughPORT HENRY — Mary A. Greenough, 88, of Broad Street, Port Henry died Jan. 19, 2005, at Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga. She was born March 5, 1916, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Harry and Mary (Blood) Morgan. Mary was a volunteer for over 25 years at Moses-Ludington Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, N.Y. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and reading. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald R. and Arlene Greenough; one granddaughter, Mari Ruth Greenough; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandria Greenough, all of Fort Edward, N.Y. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at M.W. Marvin’s Sons Inc., in Elizabethtown, N.Y. Burial will be in Longwood Cemetery in Longwood, Pa. M. Peggy Van Slyke, 81, of Westwood Drive, Massena, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Born in Manhattan on May 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel Grenan Naughton. Calling hours will be in the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Massena. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brushton, N.Y., in the spring. Ross F. Carson, 73, of Lakeshore Road, Willsboro, died Friday Jan. 14, 2005. He was born May 25, 1931, in Whallonsburg, N.Y., the son of Ben and Mary Molly (Tracy) Carson. There are no services scheduled at this time. W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements. |
