Thompson, of Prospect Avenue, Wickford, a retired manufacturing engineer, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at Roberts Health Centre, North Kingstown. He was the husband of Marion (Duffey) Thompson. They were married for 49 years. Born in Keeseville, N.Y., a son of the late Frederick and Arlina (Taylor) Thompson, he lived in Providence, R.I., before moving to North Kingstown in 1964. He worked for the Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company of North Kingstown for 38 years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Kingston, R.I., Congregational Church and for over 50 years was a member of AuSable Lodge 149 F.& A.M., Keeseville, N.Y. He was the brother of the late James Thompson. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston, R.I. Felio, 88, of Route 9N, Clintonville, passed into the arms of the Lord, Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at the Life Path Hospice Home, Sun City Center, Fla. Emma was born March 10, 1916, the daughter of John H. and Maude (Cobb) Thwaits. She graduated from Keeseville High School in 1932. She attended business school in Plattsburgh and was employed with the Keeseville National Bank for several years. Emma was very involved with her church and was an organist there for several years, loved to read, play pinochle and do puzzles. Emma especially enjoyed her winters in Florida with her family. Survived by a daughter and son in law, Janet and Woodrow Maroun of Tupper Lake and Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren, Michael and his wife Debie Rennell of Valrico, FIa., Michele and husband Rob Eggsware of Tampa, Fla., and Mark Rennell of Albany; two stepgrandchildren, Lynn and husband Tony Quinn of Lutz, Fla., and James Maroun and fiancée Bonnie Gunn of Tampa, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, Lindsey and Kelsey; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Nicole, Shaun and Nicholas; also two sisters-in-law, Jean Felio of Tupper Lake and Greenwich, Conn., and Jenevieve Doran and husband Hugh of Williston, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Emma was predeceased by her husband, Randolph Felio, whom she married June 10, 1938; he died Nov. 22, 1997; her parents; and three brothers, Howard, Gerald and Homer. Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Clintonville United Methodist Church. Francis Roy LaRockMineville — Francis Roy LaRock, 75, of Mineville, N.Y., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown, N.Y. Francis (Bugsy) was born April 10, 1929, in Schuyler Falls, N.Y., the son of Roy and Verna (LaVigne) LaRock. He is survived by his sisters, Bernice Anderson and husband Kenneth of Crown Point, N.Y., and Charlotte Ober of Farmerville, La.; his brothers, Lawrence LaRock and wife Jean of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Clifton LaRock and wife Alice of Westport, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by his father, Roy, who died Jan. 10, 1977, and his mother, Verna, who died May 11, 1969. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville, with Monsignor John McAvoy officiating. Eileen MurphyElizabethtown — Eileen "Nonny" Murphy, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Beacon Brook Health Center in Naugatuck, Conn. She was born in Maxville, Ontario, Canada, June 8, 1915, the daughter of Arthur and Laurencia (Bourgon) Villeneuve. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Ken Neibel of Watertown, Conn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Marilyn Murphy of Keene, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Calling hours will he held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at W.M. Marvin's Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church in Elizabethtown. KempCHAZY — Geraldine P. Kemp, 83, of Chazy and formerly of Lakeview Towers, peacefully entered into eternal rest, Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Conrad Bechard. She was born in Chazy on Aug. 29, 1921, the daughter of Victor and Louise (Gervais) Mooso. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Plattsburgh and a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard and bingo with her many friends at Lakeview Towers. All who loved her, will miss Geraldine tremendously. She will forever live in our hearts. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Patricia Coulombe Jr. of Plattsburgh and Calvin and Karen Coulombe of Rouses Point; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Wayne Rascoe of Alburg, Vt., and Beverly and Conrad Bechard of Chazy; one brother and sister-in-law, Leeward and Jackie Mooso of Florida; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Veronica Wells of Chazy and Mary and Earl Labarge of Fort Edwards, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Geraldine was married to Ernest Coulombe on March 17, 1941, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. He died on May 6, 1973. Her second husband, Thomas Kemp, died on March 12, 1998. Five brothers, Kenneth, Orville, Raymond, Roy and George; and one sister, Gladys LaPier, all predeceased her. Calling hours were held Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Whispering Maples Mausoleum on the Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country. Suzanne J. Fitzgerald AguadoHague/Wappingers Falls — Suzanne J. Fitzgerald Aguado, 55, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at the Vassar Brothers Hospital of Poughkeepsie. She was born in Ticonderoga on Dec. 7, 1949, the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Whitford) Fitzgerald of Ticonderoga. Suzanne was a graduate of the Hague Central School and St. Peter’s School of Nursing in Albany. She was a NYS registered nurse and was employed by Phelps Memorial Hospital in Ossining for many years. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two sons, Johathan Golbourne of Nebraska and Jeffrey Golbourne of Wappingers Falls; two brothers, C. Frank Fitzgerald of Zephyhills, Fla., and George Fitzgerald of Temple, Texas. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place at the Old Hague Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, Ticonderoga. Leonard H. RecoreBuffalo, N.Y. — Leonard H. Recore, 83, died Jan. 1, 2005, in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, N.Y. A former resident of Plattsburgh, he moved to Buffalo in 1939. He was a graduate of M.A.I. of Plattsburgh and the son of Emile and Vina Recore. He worked for a Chrysler dealership in Buffalo and was a master mechanic for Donovan State Office Building Garage. Leonard and his family enjoyed coming back to Plattsburgh every summer for 58 years and the family all gathered at the Recore home every year. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Leona (Conlan) Recore; five daughters, Lana Kopacz and Sue Williams, both of Buffalo, Anne Harders of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Maria Patterson of Empire, Calif., and Denise Ellingson of Pendleton; three sons, Lenny, Larry and Mark, all of Buffalo; the beloved brother of Herbert Recore Sr. and his wife Ella, of West Plattsburgh; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at St. Francis Xavier Church; burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Tonawanda. Cornelia "Connie" Betts CanePlattsburgh — Cornelia "Connie" Betts Cane, 83, formerly of Baldwinsville and Pennellville, N.Y., and St. Pete Beach, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility in Plattsburgh, N.Y., with hospice care. She was born in Syracuse on Dec. 6, 1921, the daughter of Hunter L. Betts and Cornelia Dean Betts. She graduated from Nottingham High School in 1940. Connie previously worked as sales manager at Blanchard Real Estate in Baldwinsville and retired in 1985 from Longley Jones of Syracuse as property manager. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Oliver "Bud" L. Cane; twin sons, Bruce and Dean Cane; a brother, Dean F. Betts; and a sister, Katherine Buckman. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara "Bonnie" Lavigne and her husband Edward of Plattsburgh; a son, Christopher Cane and his wife Martha of Baldwinsville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; special friends; and caregivers. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Episcopal Church, Baldwinsville. Box 123, Pennellville, NY 13132. Joan E. Silvernail, 72, of Shingle Street in Morrisonville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in New Haven, Conn., on Nov. 29, 1932, the daughter of John A. and Thelma E. (Conklin) Teeple. There will be no public calling hours. Graveside services will take place in the spring in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Fred Gadway, 87, of Mooers, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at his residence. Fred was born May 5, 1917, in Mooers, the son of Mose and Melvina (Brassard) Gadway. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. |
