Published: 1/13/05Yvonne M. DesautelsPlattsburgh — Mrs. Yvonne M. Desautels, 97, formerly of Waterhouse Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, Jan. l2, 2005, at the Meadow Brook Health Care Facility. She was born in Fayston, Vt., on Aug. 23, 1907, the daughter of Ephram and Cecelia (Royer) Bedard. Yvonne and her husband Gaston later owned and operated the Korina Lounge for 27 years retiring in 1972. They later operated the Essex Inn in Essex, N.Y. Yvonne was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Ephrarn and Cecelia Bedard; her husband, Gaston Desautels; her brothers, Alec, Hector, Leo, Ephram and Simon Bedard; her sisters, Blanche Dugal, Marion Rabideau, Betty Fowler, Rena Gusberti and Rose Bedard. She is survived by her daughters, Irma Rousset and her husband Michael of Rockville, Md., Lucille Hanlon and her husband Donald of Peru; a son, Carlton Desautel and his wife Luci of Simcoe, Ontario; her brothers, Louis and his wife Marion of Ocean Springs, Miss., David Bedard and his wife Frances of Glens Falls, N.Y.; her sisters, Emma Plunkett of Plattsburgh, Catherine Cross of Tampa, Fla., Ceil Ryan of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; two grandsons, Michael Hanlon of Peru, James Desautels of High Prairie, Calgary, Canada; two great- grandchildren, Leah and Liam Desautels; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church with the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, pastor as celebrant. Interment will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends wishing may have Masses said in her memory. Maxine M. ProvostSaranac — Maxine M. Provost, 52, of Ganong Drive, Saranac, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Plattsburgh, on May 2, 1952, daughter of Robert W. and Lyda (Meconi) Martin. Maxine was a waitress, working for many years at Gus's Redhots and Ron's Corner Restaurant. She loved life and had a great love of animals. Maxine is survived by her husband, Gary A. Provost of Saranac; three sons, Gary Allen Provost II and his wife Michele of West Chazy, Frank Provost and his companion Nancy Barnard of Redford and Dale Provost of Saranac; five grandchildren, Emerald Staley, Tyler Desotelle, Cory Lincourt, Joshua Provost and Zebulyn Provost; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Martineau of West Chazy; two sisters, Marilyn Goddeau of Plattsburgh and Patricia LaBombard and her companion Claude Schafer of Pattersonville; two brothers, Robert F. Martin of Morrisonville and Douglas Martin of Plattsburgh; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. A reception will follow at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on the Spellman Road. Eileen MurphyElizabethtown —Eileen "Nonny" Murphy, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, in Beacon Brook Health Center in Naugatuck, Conn. She was born in Maxville, 0ntario, Canada, June 8, 1915, the daughter of Arthur and Laurencia (Bourgon) Villeneuve. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Ken Neibel of Watertown, Conn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Marilyn Murphy of Keene, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Calling hours will he held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at W.M. Marvin's Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church in Elizabethtown. Burial will be held in the St. Elizabeth's Cemetery in the spring. Donations in her memory may be made to the Elizabethtown-Lewis Ambulance Squad, Elizabethtown, NY 12937. Leon Martin WeinzimmerCROWN POINT — Leon Martin Weinzimmer, 79, passed away at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt., on Jan. 10, 2005. Mr. Weinzimmer resided in Essex ARC’s Ticonderoga and Crown Point, N.Y. resdences over the past 14 years. He was born on Oct. 21, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Julius Weinzimmer and Esther Dublin. Mr. Weinzimmer was respected by everyone at the Essex ARC. His life was enriched by all who knew and supported him. He was a quick, pleasant gentlemen who enjoyed spending time with others, celebrating his Jewish heritage, listening to classical music and an observer of nature and people. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry followed by a celebration of his life. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Essex County ARC, 10 St. Patrick's Place, Port Henry, N.Y. F. Thomas Rabideau Jr.Plattsburgh — F. Thomas Rabideau Jr., died unexpectedly at his residence sometime Friday evening or in the early morning hours on Saturday. He was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 30, 1950, the son of Francis Thomas Rabideau Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Rabideau. He owned and operated Corporate Mail Services in Rouses Point for about 25 years. He had an avid interest in finances and politics and enjoyed participating in lively discussions on these topics with his friends and peers. He felt a deep connection to his family and spoke frequently to his nieces about life and the values they should exhibit as individuals, we will miss him for what he brought to our lives. Tom attended Potsdam, Clinton Community College and SUNY at Plattsburgh, he was a student of life. Two sisters, Rosemary A. Faille of Rouses Point, N.Y., and Ms. Luanne Bombardier of Champlain; and one brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Madeleine Rabideau of Underhill Center, Vt., survive him. He has four nieces, Chrissy, Jessica, Lorrielle and Sieanna, who will always remember his kindness and supportive words. Calling hours will be at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at Saint Patrick's Church in Rouses Point at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery this spring. EMMA T. FELIO, 88, of Route 9N Clintonville, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at the Life Path Hospice House, Sun City Center, Fla., where she became a resident on Jan. 11, 2005. Emma was born March 10, 1916, in Clintonville, the daughter of John H. and Maude (Cobb)Thwaits. Visitation hours and funeral service will be announced in a full obituary at a later date. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home, AuSable Forks, is in charge of arrangements. CARSON ALLEN RAMSEY, 74, of Pinellas Park, Fla., died Jan. 7, 2005, at his home. Son of Clyde and Gertrude (Poissant) Ramsey Sr., of Lynchburg, Va., and Chazy, respectively, Carson was born in Pontiac, Mich., in January 1930, and lived for a time in Chazy. The family will receive friends at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel in Lynchburg, Va., on Friday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at Bethany Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 15. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. |
