Carlton "Pepe" Rushford

CHAZY — Carlton "Pepe" Rushford, 78, of 42 River St., died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Chateaugay on Nov. 5, 1926, the son of Earnest and Kathleen (Stone) Rushford. He married the former Veronica Guynup at St. James Church in Cadyville in 1955.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.

Mr. Rushford owned and operated his own farms, first in Cadyville and later in Chazy, until 1974. He also worked for the grounds and maintenance department at the Clinton County Airport until 1980. He then worked for Plattsburgh State University in the maintenance department until retiring in 1987.

Survivors include his wife Veronica; one son, Roger Rushford of Chazy; three daughters, Kathleen Rushford and Jane Rushford, both of West Chazy and Anna Bushey and her husband Brent of Saranac; two brothers, Douglas Rushford and his wife Shirley of Plattsburgh and Gerald Rushford of Schuyler Falls; two sisters, Ernestine VanSplinter and her husband Neil of Peru and Clarissa Stone of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Michelle, Samantha, Amanda and Kasha; and several nieces and nephews.

Several brothers died earlier.

Calling will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Rushford family or Hospice of the North Country.

Una M. Forcier

Queensbury — Una M. Forcier, 98, of Centennial Drive and formerly of Ticonderoga, Port Henry and Plattsburgh, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law and where she had resided for the past 17 years.

Born on Oct. 22, 1906, in Paradox (formerly known as Letsonville) she was the daughter of Samuel and Belle (McMurtry) Letson.

Una was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court of Mary Immaculate 479 since 1934.

She was an avid bridge player and a charter member of the Monday Bridge Club of Plattsburgh. She continued playing bridge in Queensbury until November of 2004. She was a member of the Mother’s Club of the North Country.

Una was a gifted painter who discovered her artistic talent at the age of 73. Her paintings are admired and cherished by her family. She enjoyed crocheting and had made an afghan for each of her children, grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren.

She was a loving, caring lady who was generous with her time and talents. She was a hospital volunteer as well as a volunteer of many years to local health drives. She also enjoyed helping less fortunate families, especially at Christmastime.

She was a lady of great wisdom and patience. Her family and friends feel truly blessed to have had her in their lives.

Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Raymond H. Forcier, who died on Nov. 27, 1992; her ten brothers and sisters; as well as one grandson, Scott Monto; and a daughter-in-law, Doris C. Forcier.

Survivors include her three children, Gerald R. Forcier and his wife Jean of Westport, N.Y., Patricia M. Monto and her husband Gerald of Oswegatchie, N.Y., and Monica A. Grosskopf and her husband Alan of Queensbury; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, Ticonderoga, with the Rev. Barry Lonergan officiating.

Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Wilcox and Reagan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ticonderoga, in the spring.

Pallbearers will be James P. Forcier, Michael R. Forcier, Joseph J. Forcier, Gerald R. Forcier Jr., Michael Monto, Joshua R. Fountain and Christopher H. Parsons.

Una’s family would like to express their thanks to Maggie Fahlmann, her home health aide, whose care and support will never be forgotten and to the Warren County Public Health Nurses for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Una’s memory may be directed to Eden Park Rehabilitation Center, 170 Warren St., Glens Falls, NY 12801 or to West Glens Falls Emergency Squad, 105 Main St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.

M. Florence LaFleur

Bloomingdale — M. Florence LaFleur, 92, of Roosevelt Avenue, Bloomingdale, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid, N.Y.

Born in Lawrenceville, N.Y., on Aug. 21, 1912, she was the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Gonyea) Fitzgerald.

Mrs. LaFleur had been a resident of Bloomingdale for most of her life. She attended Bloomingdale Union School during her high school years. She also attended the Malone Business School and worked for a time at an office in Malone before moving back to Bloomingdale. Mrs. LaFleur worked at various offices in Saranac Lake and at the Whiteface Inn in Lake placid until her retirement in 1976. She also was the Town of St. Armand town clerk and tax collector from 1975 until 1982. She was a member of the Bloomingdale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Town of Franklin over 55 Club and the Saranac Lake Adult Center. She enjoyed crafts and bingo.

Mrs. LaFleur was married to Orlin LaFleur in 1935. He predeceased her on March 3, 1964. Survivors include one daughter, Margaret LaFleur of Plattsburgh; one son, William LaFleur; three grandchildren, Lisa Farnsworth and her husband David, Michael LaFleur and his wife Chris and Bonnie LaFleur; one daughter-in-law, Patricia LaFleur; three stepgrandchildren; three great - grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church in Bloomingdale with Rev. Kevin McEwan officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Bloomingdale in May.

Friends wishing to remember Mrs. LaFleur may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.

Donald Amos "Punk" Fillioe Sr., 64, of Putnam Station, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.

He was born in Ticonderoga, May 30, 1940, the son of the late Amos L. and Beulah (Treadway) Fillioe.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. The Rev. Floyd Freed and Rev. Michael Troyer will officiate.

Elizabeth Reynolds, 94, of LaCenter, Ky., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004.

She was born Nov. 24, 1910, in Newfoundland, N.J., the daughter of the late Ira Little and Stella (Card) Little.

Funeral services were held on Friday at the Jones Funeral Home of LaCenter, Ky., with the Rev. Eddie Bromley officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Wickliffe, Ky.
