Published: 12/30/04Rose D. DutilCHAMPLAIN — Rose D. Dutil, 88, of Champlain passed into the ams of the Lord Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born March 15, 1916, in Champlain, the daughter of the late Theophile and Prudentienne (Blain) Bedard. She worked at St. Mary's Rectory for many years as a housekeeper for several priests. Rose was an avid gardener who loved her flowers and plants and had a green thumb. She belonged to the Ladies of St. Ann and the St. Mary's Mission Center. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Zozime who passed away in 1988; two daughters, Rita LaVergne who died in 1989 and Celine Dutil who died in 1976; two brothers, Michel Bedard who died in 1996 and Leon Bedard; two great-grandchildren, Parker Gregory and Kyle Gregory also predecease her. Rose is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Adrien and Sharon Dutil, Leon and Kathy Dutil, Denis and Linda Dutil, also her son, Marc Dutil and his companion Lori Scharf; her eleven grandchildren, Jason and Luisya Dutil, Erin (Dutil) and Michael Cloatssy, Shane Dutil and his companion Becca Bonner, Rachel Dutil, Nathan Dutil, Adam Dutil, Leslie (Dutil) and Luke Ero, Eric and Karen Dutil, Laurie (Dutil) and Matt Gregory, Terrie Dutil and her companion Mike Heidelmark, Chad and Nicole Dutil. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Luke Ero Jr., Lance Ero, Larissa Ero, Jenna Dutil and Sofya Dutil. Among her many friends, she leaves behind her lifelong friend, Rita LaBombard. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Mary's Mission Center or to St. Mary's Church in Champlain. Oril Francis LaFauntainBLACK BROOK — Oril Francis LaFountain, 81, formerly a resident of Meadowbrook Nursing Home, passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh. He was born July 19, 1923, in Black Brook, the son of Eli and Mary (Trombley) LaFountain. Oril was a veteran with the U.S. Army serving in World War II, the Korean Conflict Vietnam Era total service was over 25 years as a medic. Survived by two sisters, Delphine Nelson of Redford and Lena Hart of Schenectady; and many nieces and nephews. Oril was predeceased by his wife, Faye (Spradley) LaFountain; four sisters, Jennie Fournier, Mary Williams, Cora LaBombard and Victoria Harper; six brothers, Joseph, Phillip, Arthur, Paul, Charles and Raymond LaFountain. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home, AuSable Forks. Funeral prayers will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, Ind. Memorials to him may be made to a charity of ones choice. Rosalie RugarWatertown — Rosalie (Brooks) Ruger, 66, of Watertown, N.Y., died unexpectedly Dec. 9, 2004, at Mercy of Northern New York Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past 8 years. She was born in Witherbee on Jan. 28, 1938, the oldest daughter of the late Harold (Joe) Brooks and the late Mary (Brooks) DeMatteo. Survivors include her brothers, Jimmy Brooks and Anita of Port Henry and Bruce and Marilyn Brooks of Niceville, Fla.; and numerous friends and relatives. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, LeRoy; her sisters, Rochelle (Brooks) Moran and Rowena Rae Brooks; and her stepfather, Arthur (Arturo) DeMatteo. Rosalie graduated from Moriah High School in 1955, then attended Albany Business School and was employed by the New York State Police at their headquarters in Albany for a number of years. Although her physical abilities were limited in recent years, Rosalie thoroughly enjoyed life. Her favorite pastimes included playing bingo, going to the mall, eating out, telling jokes and visiting on the phone. Funeral services and burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery will take place in the spring. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice or the family. John W. CarronPlattsburgh — John W. "Duke" Carron, 57, of Katherine Drive, Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Jan. 4, 1947, son of Alfred H. and Rita T. (Defayette) Carron. John, also known as "Boots" worked in the construction field for many years until his disability in the late 1980s. He loved the outdoors. John is survived by three children, Minnick Roberts and her husband Michael of Mooers Forks, Roger Duprey of Mooers and Linda Parsons and her husband Eric of Mooers; his father, Alfred H. Carron of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Carlton Carron and his wife Frankie of Cheshire, Conn., and Eugene Carron of Champlain; seven sisters, Mrs. Patrick (Marion) Myers of Magnolia, Del., Elaine Squires of Peru, Mary Alice Reeves of Saint Jo, Texas, Mrs. Alfred (Martha) Davis Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Richard (Maria) Lee of LeHigh Acres, Fla., Mrs. Bryan (June) Dashnaw of Peru and Frida Carron of Saranac; a sister-in-law, Nancy Caron of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren, Brett, Hunter, Giles, Cheyann, Indiana and Eric Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his mother, Rita (Defayette) Carron in 1980; his brother, Alfred L. Caron in 1984; and a nephew, Kevin Carron in 1988. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1 p.m. from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be in the spring of 2005 in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Marion Jean CoryerSaranac — Marion Jean Coryer, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born on June 25, 1919, in Saranac the daughter of Harvey and Mabel (Napper) Lobdell. Jean's greatest love was her family. She loved being at home with her latest "additions" as they came along. She was the greatest to all of us and each one of us is convinced that we were her favorite. Her husband, Clement Coryer, passed away on March 19, 1988. Survivors include her five children, three daughters, Judith Allinson and her husband Wallace, Linda Coryer and Brenda Strack, all of Saranac and two sons, Clement and his wife Mary of Ogdensburg and Bradley and his wife June of Scotia; three sisters, Vesta Sullivan of Cadyville, Irene Esser of Hudson Falls and Patricia Lobdell of Churubusco; two sisters-in-law; Mildred Lobdell of Willsboro and Margaret Lobdell of Redford. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grand-children; and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Spencer, Vincent and Victor Lobdell. Calling hours were held Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Fire Department Rescue Squad. Agnes M. MyersREDFORD — Agnes M. Myers, 97, of Route 3, Redford and more recently of the Vilas Home, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. Mrs. Myers was born in Clayburg on July 28, 1907, the daughter of Charles and Clina (LaFountain) Caron. She married Adlor Myers at Assumption of Mary Church in 1926, he died in 1993. Mrs. Myers and her husband were the owners and operators of Myers Garage and Store in Redford for over 55 years. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption in Redford, the Sacred Heart Fraternity and the Third Order of St. Francis. Survivors include two sons, Patrick Myers and his wife Marion of Magnolia, Del., and Gilbert Myers and his wife Jean of Chazy Lake; three daughters, Rita Ross of Plattsburgh, Patricia and Jay Dubray of Chazy Lake and Mrs. Ronald (Geraldine) Lautenschuetz of Redford; one brother, Victor Caron and his wife Florence of Beekmantown; one sister, Florence Botten of Plattsburgh; 14 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; and 2 great- great-grandchildren. One brother, Remi Caron; and three sisters, Anna Manley, Lela Provost and Flora Fountain, all died earlier. Calling hours were held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Assumption School. Richard Rabideau, 83, of Plattsburgh, died Wednesday Dec. 29, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Cadyville, the son of Nelson and Julia (Shappell) Rabideau. Arrangements are incomplete at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Jennifer Louise Welch, 19, of Johnson Avenue, Plattsburgh, died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at CVPH Medical Centcr in Plattsburgh as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Plattsburgh, on Nov. 14, 1985, the daughter of James B. and Diane (Rabideau) Welch. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A prayer service, led by Rev. Floyd Bleaux will be held at 1 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh.
