Shirley M. Santo

Morrisonville — Shirley M. Santo, 76, of Mason Street, Morrisonville, passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Clinton County Nursing Home.

She was born in Plattsburgh on March 9, 1928, daughter of Lawrence H. and Viola G. (Macey) Bouvia.

Shirley was a member of St. Augustine’s Church in Peru, she enjoyed bowling, camping and was an excellent cook.

Special friend to many people, a devoted and loving wife, a devoted and loving mother. Special thanks to all the family and friends that helped with her care throughout her long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Shirley is survived by four children, Cherly Aronowitz and her husband John of Whitehall, Ark., Louis J. "Butch" Santo Jr. of Plattsburgh, Donna McKee of Plattsburgh and Brenda Mary and her husband Earl of Plattsburgh; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Arlene Bouvia of Plattsburgh; grandchildren, Christina Aronowitz of Texas, John Aronowitz Jr. and Jason of Arkansas, Shirley Varnell of Altona, Mike McKee of Keeseville and Jared McKee of Peru; great-grandchildren, Clayton Aronowitz of Arkansas, Autumn Ames and Amara Favero of Texas, Alex Varnell, Alexis McKee, Luke McKee, Cole McKee and Elizabeth McKee, all from New York; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Bouvia of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Louis J. Santo Sr.; three brothers, Lawrence H. Bouvia Jr., Lawrence L. "Jimmy" Bouvia and Clarence "Earl" Bouvia; two grandchildren, Theresa Aronowitz and Earl May Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Jade A. McKee.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Augustine’s Church in Peru. Burial will be in the spring of 2005 in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru.

Rose D. Dutil

CHAMPLAIN — Rose D. Dutil, 88, of Champlain passed into the arms of the Lord Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born March 15, 1916, in Champlain, the daughter of the late Theophile and Prudentienne (Blain) Bedard.

She worked at St. Mary’s Rectory for many years as a housekeeper for several priests. Rose was an avid gardener who loved her flowers and plants and had a green thumb. She belonged to the Ladies of St. Ann and the St. Mary’s Mission Center.

She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Zozime who passed away in 1988; two daughters, Rita LaVergne who died in 1989 and Celine Dutil who died in 1976; two brothers, Michel Bedard who died in 1996 and Leon Bedard; two great-grandchildren, Parker Gregory and Kyle Gregory, also predecease her.

Rose is survived by four sons, Adrien and Sharon Dutil, Leon and Kathy Dutil, Denis and Linda Dutil and Marc Dutil and Lori Scharf; 11 grandchildren, Jason and Luisya Dutil, Erin (Dutil) and Michael Cloatssy, Shane Dutil and Becca Bonner, Rachel Dutil, Nathan Dutil, Adam Dutil, Leslie Dutil Ero and Luke, Eric and Karen Dutil, Laurie Dutil Gregory and Matt, Terrie Dutil and Mike Heidelmark, Chad and Nicole Dutil. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Luke Ero Jr., Lance Ero, Larissa Ero, Jenna Dutil and Sofya Dutil.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain.

Joseph M. Marinelli

Morrisonville — Joseph M. Marinelli, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Bari, Italy on Sept. 14, 1925, the son of Pietro and Nicoletta Marinelli.

He served in the Army National Guard during World War II in a support role for the Army Air Corps.

He was a processing manager in the photography industry in New York City for many years. He was a member of the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge 621 and the Italian-American Club. He enjoyed painting, model airplanes and trains, gemstone collecting, photography, tropical fish and he had a special passion for gardening.

He is survived by his wife Joyce (Bruce) Marinelli; his children Gloria Moretz of Cape Coral, Fla., Joseph Marinelli Jr. of Piscataway, N.J., Peter Marinelli of Aurora, Ill., Edmund Marinelli of Lawrenceville, N.J., Theresa Marinelli of Seattle, Wash., and Nicoletta Marinelli of Astoria, N.Y.; his brothers and sisters, Anna Girandola of Fountain Valley, Calif., Michael Marinelli of Milan, Italy, Umberto Marinelli of Bronx, N.Y., and Yolanda Santorelli of Sanford, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

His first wife of 56 years, Leona (Parrotte) Marinelli died Sept. 24, 2001.

Calling hours were held on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. There was a time to share memories of Joe at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from St. James Church in Cadyville. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery in Redford in the spring.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country, St. James Church, the CVPH Foundation, Hill & Hollow Music, Inc., Clinton County Council on the Arts, the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts, or the Kent Delord Museum.

Bernice L. Sanchagrin

Peru — Bernice L. Sanchagrin, 84, formerly of Peru and Rouses Point, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Rouses Point, Oct. 4, 1920, the daughter of Clement and Laura (Anthony) Aubrey.

She worked at St. Augustine’s School. She was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church. Mrs. Sanchagrin was member of the Altar Rosary Society and St. Augustine’s Church Choir. She very much enjoyed singing and spending time with people.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Babbie of Peru and Kathleen Ketcik of Maple Shade, N.J.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Connie Sanchagrin of Modesto, Calif., and Arthur and Nancy Sanchagrin of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Robert Aubrey of Rouses Point; a sister, Carol Manor of Rouses Point; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arthur Sanchagrin; a daughter, Delores Smith; and a son, Albert Sanchagrin.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru with Rev. Stephen H. Gratto, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Brasher Falls, celebrating, and Rev. Clyde A. Lewis, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point and St. Joseph’s Church in Coopersville, concelebrating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Rouses Point.

Donations in her memory may be made to Catholic Charities, St. Augustine’s Church Building Fund or St. Augustine’s School.

Agnes M. Myers

REDFORD — Agnes M. Myers, 97, of Route 3, Cadyville and more recently of the Vilas Home, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

Mrs. Myers was born in Clayburg on July 28, 1907, the daughter of Charles and Clina (LaFountain) Caron.

She married Adlor Myers at Assumption of Mary Church in 1926, he died in 1993. Mrs. Myers and her husband were the owners and operators of Myers Garage and Store in Redford for over 55 years.

She was a member of the Church of the Assumption in Redford, the Sacred Heart Fraternity and the Third Order of St. Francis.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick Myers and his wife Marion of Magnolia, Del., and Gilbert Myers and his wife Jean of Chazy Lake; three daughters, Rita Ross of Plattsburgh, Patricia and Jay Dubray of Chazy Lake and Mrs. Ronald (Geraldine) Lautenschuetz of Redford; one brother, Victor Caron and his wife Florence of Beekmantown; one sister, Florence Botten of Plattsburgh; 14 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; and 2 great- great-grandchildren.

One brother, Remi Caron; and three sisters, Anna Manley, Lela Provost and Flora Fountain, all died earlier.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Assumption School.

Marion Jean Coryer

Saranac — Marion Jean Coryer, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born on June 25, 1919, in Saranac the daughter of Harvey and Mabel (Napper) Lobdell.

Marion’s greatest love was her family. She loved being at home with her latest "additions" as they came along. She was the greatest to all of us and each one of us is convinced that we were her favorite.

Her husband, Clement Coryer, passed away on March 19, 1988.

Survivors include her five children, three daughters, Judith Allinson and her husband Wallace, Linda Coryer and Brenda Strack, all of Saranac and two sons, Clement and his wife Mary of Ogdensburg and Bradley and his wife June of Scotia; three sisters, Vesta Sullivan of Cadyville, Irene Ester of Hudson Falls and Patricia Lobdell of Churubusco; two sisters-in-law; Mildred Lobdell of Willsboro and Margaret Lobdell of Redford. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grand-children; and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Spencer, Vincent and Victor Lobdell.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

Gilbert M. Langlois

Plattsburgh — Gilbert M. Langlois, 87, of Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1917, in St. Paul Ile Aux Noix, Quebec, son of Edward and Georgiana (Thibodeau) Langlois.

Gilbert moved to Plattsburgh in 1947, he owned a farm in Cumberland Head. Gilbert had been employed by Georgia Pacific and was a bus driver for Beekmantown Central School and Golden Arrow. He was also a builder of homes. Gilbert’s life was centered on his children.

Gilbert is survived by Graziella Poulin Langlois of Plattsburgh; four children, Gabriel and Claudia Langlois of Plattsburgh, Roch and Diana Langlois of Plattsburgh, Martine and Kenneth Mousseau of Plattsburgh and Louise and Wayne Ladieu of Keeseville; two brothers, Leopold Langlois of St. Paul, Quebec, and Auriele and Alma Langlois of Coquitlan, British Columbia; grandchildren, Michelle and Travis McLennan, Jeff Langlois, Nicole Langlois, Curtis and Dawn Langlois, Kerrie and Todd Nelson, Monique and Craig Worley, Sara Mousseau and Kim Mousseau; eight great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Gilbert was predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Ovila, Aldei, Cecile, Laurent, Cyrille and Georgette; and a granddaughter, Micheline.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. from St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s of the Lake Cemetery in Cumberland Head.

Eugene F. Provost Sr.

West Chazy — Eugene F. Provost Sr., 65, of Recore Road, West Chazy passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 11, 1939, son of Frank and Irene (Scott) Provost.

Eugene enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He owned and operated Provost’s Deer Cutting for over 30 years.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 45 years, Doris (Stone) Provost of West Chazy; five children, Christine Constable and Keith of Altona, Connie Seale and Tony of West Chazy, Regina LaMare and Joe of West Chazy, Eugene F. Provost Jr. and Robin Ostrander and her two children Jr. and Raelyn of Mooers and Tracey Sullivan of Plattsburgh; five grandchildren, Rhonda, R.J., Rachael, Lilly and Grace; three great-grandchildren, Jamie, Sage and Nathan, three brothers, Clayton Provost and Doreen of Plattsburgh, Kenneth Provost and Donna of Plattsburgh and Gary Provost and Maxine of Saranac; and three sisters, Betty Martineau of Beekmantown, Doris McKee of Plattsburgh and Annatte Durham and Parker of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Eugene was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 p.m. from St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Chazy. Burial will be in the spring of 2005 in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Chazy.

Donations in his memory may be made to American Diabetes Association.

Donald J. Parker

WILLISTON, Vt. — Donald J. Parker of Williston passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, after a brief illness.

An eighth generation Vermonter, second son of Ralph Herbert Parker Sr. and Eliza Drew Parker, he was born in Springfield, Vt., on March 30, 1930.

Mr. Parker graduated from Springfield High School and received two degrees in civil engineering from the University of Vermont (Bachelors of science 1951, Masters of science 1970) as well as taking engineering courses at McGill University in Montreal. He was a member of the Professional Civil Engineering Society, Phi Delta Theta and several professional organizations associated with his long career in steel and concrete engineering and surveying. He briefly worked for US Steel in Pennsylvania before returning to Vermont to work for Vermont Structural Steel in Burlington and Plattsburgh, N.Y., from 1953 to 1969, leaving the firm to pursue his second college degree. He joined Knight Consulting Engineers in Williston in 1972 and worked on many of their projects until his retirement in 1994. In retirement, he continued to use his engineering skills working for CSE in Williston until his passing.

An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the UVM Alpine Ski Team and a champion Cakewalker during his early college years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially spending time at the family camp in Ferdinand, Vt., with his extended family members of the Fellows, Stygles and Buxton clans.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Sundberg Parker of Williston; his three sons, Steffen and his wife Kathryn of Colchester, Michael of Chazy, N.Y., and Peter and his wife Christine of Starksboro; along with grandchildren, Corrie, Sarah, Elizabeth, Stephen, Hannah, Charity, Faith, MaryLynn, Lydia, Daniel, Josiah, Molly and Jacob Parker.

He is predeceased by his parents; his brother, Ralph of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; and his sister-in-law, Joyce Fellows of Morrisville.

He leaves many nephews, nieces, cousins, and numerous dear friends in Burlington, Williston, Morrisville, Island Pond and Bloomfield, Vt., and Chazy, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Baptist Church on Mountainview Road in Williston.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. Parker’s name to either the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495 or the Vermont National Guard Family Services, c/o Camp Johnson, Route 15, Colchester, VT 05446.

Eugene Beaudet

Willsboro — The Rev. Eugene Beaudet, 77, a priest of the Diocese of Ogdensburg, died at his home in Willsboro, N.Y., on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004.

Father Joseph Eagene Beandet was born on July 10, 1927, at Ste. Sophie de Livrard, Quebec, the son of the late Donat and Marie-Louise Pratte Beaudet.

Father Beaudet graduated from Newcomb Central High School in Newcomb, N.Y., and attended Wadhams Hall Seminary in Ogdensburg from 1945 to 1949. He completed theological studies at St. Mary’s Seminary at Baltimore, Md., from 1949 until 1953. Father Beandet was ordained a priest at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg on May 30, 1953 by Bishop Bryan J. McEntegart

Following his ordination, Father Beaudet was named Assistant Pastor at the Church of the Holy Name, Faust (Tupper Lake). He was transferred to the Church of the Assumption, Redford, later in 1953. In 1956, Father Beaudet became Assistant at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. In 1958, he became Assistant Pastor of the Church of the Holy Family in Watertown.

Father Beandet first served as a pastor beginning in 1961 when he was assigned to St. Helen’s Church in Chasm Falls. Ten years later he was appointed pastor of St. Mary’s of the Fort Church in Fort Covington. In 1976, Father Beandet was assigned to serve St. Mary’s Church in Champlain. Father Beaudet’s next assignment as pastor was at St. Philip of Jesus Church in Willsboro and St. Joseph’s Church in Essex where he began ministry in 1979. Father Beaudet’s final service was as pastor of St. Hubert’s Church in Star Lake, St. Anthony of Padua Church, Newton Falls and St. Michael’s Church, Fine, beginning in 1997.

Father Beaudet retired from active ministry on June 26, 2002, and returned to take up residence outside the village of Willsboro. In addition to his dedicated service of the people of his parish communities, Father Beandet was well known as an enthusiastic supporter of sports teams. While stationed in Watertown he was an enthusiastic fan of the teams of lmmaculate Heart Academy. He was also well-known as a lifelong ardent fan of the Montreal Canadians.

Father Beaudet is survived by one brother, Joseph Maurice Beaudet of Queensbury, N.Y. In addition, he is survived by nephews, Ernest Beaudet, Roger Beaudet, Real Beaudet, Raymond Beaudet, Rene Beaudet, Claude Beandet and Dean Beaudet. He is also survived by nieces, Marguerite Bubner, Denise Beandet, Louise Beaudet, Cecile Krantz, Grace Snyde and Helen Henner.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Father Beaudet on Thursday at St. Philip of Jesus Church in Willsboro, N.Y., at noon. The celebrant of the Mass will be Monsignor Robert L. Lawler, Vicar General of the Diocese. The homilst will be Father Alfred Fish. Father Beaudet’s body will be transferred to St. Philip of Jesus Church at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Evening prayer will be celebrated with the reception of the body at 7 p.m. Monsignor Peter R. Riani, Dean of Essex Deanery, will serve as celebrant of the evening prayer. Calling hours will continue until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Willsboro.

Earl Douglas Anson Sr.

Moriah — Earl Douglas Anson Sr., 63, of Moriah, N.Y., died Monday Dec. 27, 2004, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home, Elizabethtown, N.Y., where he had been a resident since July 1999.

Doug was born in Elizabethtown, N.Y., on June 19, 1941, the son of Dwight and Polly (Newton) Anson.

He was a graduate of Westport Central School. He was a well known athlete in the North Country. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was foreman at International Paper Company in Ticonderoga for 32 years. Doug loved deeply and lived life fully.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Anson, whom be married July 13, 1985; his son, Jamie Anson and wife Danielle of Mineville; four stepchildren, Chris and Rose Ormsbee of Hudson Falls, Annie Arthur of Saratoga, Paul and Michelle Arthur of Moriah and Michael Rotella of Crown Point; a sister, Alva and Clark Wildermuth of South Glens Falls; two brothers, Dwight and Lily Anson of Westport and Bernard and Dorothy Baker of Lake Placid, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Douglas Anson.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Moriah Methodist Church in Moriah. Spring burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Doug’s memory to the Horace Nye Nursing Home, Elizabethtown, N.Y., or to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad.
