Plattsburgh — Paul E. Godin, 79, of Redwood Street, Plattsburgh, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in East Berkshire, Vt., on April 3, 1925, son of Arthur and Albia (Viens) Godin.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Lorraine King; a daughter, Ann and husband Bill Bashista of Deltona, Fla.; a son, Larry Godin of Milton, Vt.; a stepson, Ricky Manor of Frostproof, Fla.; also six granddaughters, Joy Wilkes of Clifton Park, N.Y., Jennifer Godin of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., Angel Streeter of Milton, Vt., Star Godin of Alburg, Vt., Evie Godin and Sis Godin of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; six grandsons, Christopher Caple of Barre, Vt., Paul Caple of Corning, N.Y., Paul Godin II of Alburg, Vt., Eric Godin of Milton, Vt., Larry Godin of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and Timothy Manor of Frostproof, Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Gary Godin of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; two sisters, Jeanette and Norma Jean; also four brothers, Phillip, Gerald, Corad and John.

Mr. Godin worked for the State of New York until his retirement some years ago. Mr. Godin enjoyed carpentry and built a total of six homes. Just puttering around was one of his biggest enjoyments.

Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Queensbury — Wilma C. Hayes, (Billie) 87, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2004 at Stanton Rehabilitation And Nursing Center.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1917, in Putnam Station, the daughter of William and Mattie (Ottenburgh) Charlton.

Wilma graduated from Ticonderoga High School, Ticonderoga, in 1935 and also attended Castleton State Teachers College in Castleton, Vt. She returned to Ticonderoga where she resided many years with her husband of 60 years, Paul J. Hayes raising her family.

Wilma retired from the Warren County Support Collection Unit at age 62. She also worked at International Paper Company in Ticonderoga, St. Peter's Hospital in Albany and the New York State Teachers Retirement Association.

Wilma was a member of the Queensbury Senior Citizens and had been a past president for several years. She was an avid card player and especially enjoyed playing cards with her grandson, Noel. She wintered in Florida for many years where she was able to play golf and enjoy an active social life.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Paul J. Hayes, who died on May 18, 1997. She was also predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Alice Merfeld, Leanore Myrick, Jacqueline Roseberry, Edward Charlton and Terrance Charlton.

She is survived by her four children, Michael C. Hayes and his wife Sally of Queensbury, Margaret A. Powvorznik of Lake George, Patricia E. LaBonte of Gansevoort and Mari Ravida of Cohoes. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Paul J. Hayes (Jamie) and Michael S. Hayes (Mickey) of Queensbury, Kristina R. Gillin of Black Rock, Conn., Lori A. Seal of Tequesta, Fla., and Noel D. LaBonte of Lake George. Her great-grandchildren are Cameron M. Hayes (Cammie) and Samantha L. Hayes, Emma W. Hayes and Lance M. Hayes, all of Queensbury, Stephen A. and Spencer Smilgelski and Mackenzie and Riley Seal of Tequesta, Fla. Wilma has two surviving brothers, Frank Charlton of Ticonderoga and William Charlton of Dover, Del.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Wilma had requested that there be no calling hours.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ticonderoga Alumni Association, Ticonderoga, N.Y.

Arrangements are under the direction of Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.

Diane M. Strunk, 50, of Coffee Street, Malone, N.Y., died Monday night, Dec. 20, 2004, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, she had been a patient there since Dec. 19, 2004.

She was born in Middletown, N.Y., Aug. 2, 1954, the daughter of the late Ernest and Marion Elliott Stephens.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Otisville, N.Y., in the spring.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone, N.Y.

John Vincent Macaluso, 82, of Third Avenue, Ticonderoga died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga, after a brief illness.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time and are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga. A full obituary will appear in tomorrow's paper.
