Bessie L. Edwards

Plattsburgh — Bessie L. Edwards, 75, of Spaulding Drive, Plattsburgh, was called to the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Linthicum, Md., on Jan. 29, 1929, daughter of William and Flossie Irene (Ports) Dowling.

Bessie is survived by five children, Alice F. Mark and her husband Frederick of Plattsburgh, Donna M. Lambert and her husband Lawrence Sr. of Newark, Del., Tammy Lynn Mousseau and her husband Michael J. of Morrisonville, Denise Michele LaBombard and her husband Randy S. of Churubusco and John E. Edwards Jr. and his wife Brenda J. of Ellenburg Center; her brother, Frank Dowling and his wife Dolores of Pittsville, Md.; grandchildren, Ronald Cook and his companion Laurie Brown, Sherry Goodman and her companion Rob Kerner, Robyn Mark, Duane Cook and his wife Elissa, Lawrence L. Lambert Jr. and his wife Cathy, Denise Michelle Janowiak and her husband Vincent, Dennis Michael Lambert, Jeffrey Lambert, Corey Morrow, Kenneth LaHart, Craig Staley and his companion Leeann, Angelia Staley, Alec Staley, Josh LaBombard, Grant Brassard, Matthew Brassard, Millissa Brassard, Jessica Light, John Edwards III, Amanda Brassard, Allan Brassard, Heather Harris and Tiffany Edwards; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Carol Fleming of Plattsburgh.

Bessie was predeceased by her husband, John E. "Jack" Edwards Sr.; her brothers, Albert Dowling, Thomas Dowling and William Dowling Sr.; and a grandson, Daniel Staley.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Reamer, Chaplain at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Michael Patrick McCaffrey

Naples, Fla. — Michael Patrick McCaffrey, 38, of Naples, Fla., passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 11, 2004.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1966, in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

After graduating from high school, he went on to attend Old Dominion College and the University of Colorado at Boulder where he majored in English. Pat enjoyed writing, music and poetry. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a selfless soul with a heart of gold.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his mother and stepfather, Sheila (Maher) and John Wilder of Naples, Fla.; his father, Michael McCaffrey of Riverview, Fla.; his brothers, John McCaffrey of Naples, Fla. and Dan McCaffrey of San Francisco, Calif.; his stepsister and her husband Anne and Craig Lofland of Lakeland, Fla.; his stepbrother Nick Wilder of Cincinatti, Ohio; his maternal grandmother, Vanita Maher of Naples, Fla.; his six aunts and uncles; nine cousins and his companion, the love of his life, Monica Maloney.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Daniel E. Maher Sr.; his uncle, Danny Maher Jr.; his paternal grandparents; and his aunt Katherine (McCaffrey) Brown.

Mothers and fathers hold their children's hands for just a little while and their hearts forever. Irish eyes will be watching over Patrick in heaven.

There will be a Mass in Naples, Fla. at St. William’s Catholic Church, 750 Seagate Drive on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. and a memorial service in the spring in Champlain, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Daniel E. Maher Sr. Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Northeastern Clinton Central School, 103 Route 276, Champlain, NY 10919.
