Arthur W. Pelkey Sr.

KEESEVILLE — Arthur W. "Sonny" Pelkey Sr., 68, of 36 Scotts Lane, Keeseville, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Jay on April 3, 1936, the son of Arthur Sr. and Florence (Sawyer) Pelkey.

He was a tractor-trailer driver for more than 30 years, his last place of employment being B.J. Whitten of Plattsburgh.

He was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gladys (Peggy) Drake, whom he married Aug. 27, 1957; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Debbie Pelkey, Wayne and Wanda Pelkey, and Scott and Tammy Pelkey, all of Keeseville; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Paul Ero of Keeseville; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several cousins; and his mother, Florence E. Fay, of Troy, Pa.

At his request there will be no calling hours.

Graveside services will be held noon Wednesday at the family plot in Fairview Cemetery in AuSable Forks. Memorials to him may be made to the Keeseville Rescue Squad, Keeseville, NY 12944.

Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Joseph Kim Armstrong

CROWN POINT — Kenneth Joseph Kim Armstrong, 52, of Breed Hill Road, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at his residence.

Born in Ticonderoga, March 2, 1952, he was the son of the late Kenneth E. Armstrong and Grace L. (Denno) Armstrong of Crown Point.

Mr. Armstrong lived most of his life in Crown Point, moving from Ticonderoga at the age of 10.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Armstrong was employed by Pat Armstrong Trucking of Ticonderoga as a truck driver and heavy-equipment operator for many years.

He was predeceased by one sister, Doreen M. Mains.

Survivors in addition to his mother, Grace L. Armstrong of Crown Point, include his wife, Isabelle J. (Swinton) Armstrong; one son, Gerald K. Armstrong and his wife, Lori, of Dover, Dela.; three brothers, Michael J. Armstrong of Crown Point, Anthony C. Armstrong of Clearwater, Fla., and Victor J. McLean of Palatka, Fla.; and three sisters, Cindy L. Daniels of Crown Point, Kathy J. Dyke of Bakersfield, Calif., and Amy J. Armstrong of Witherbee. he is also survived by three granddaughters, Bethany Armstrong, Caitlin Armstrong and Sammi Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox and Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church of Crown Point. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate.

The rite of committal will follow at the family plot of the White Church Cemetery of Crown Point.

Richard G. Wells

BURLINGTON — Richard G. Wells, 70, of Electric Avenue, Loon Lake, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 19, 2004, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Richard was born on Nov. 21, 1933, in Plattsburgh, the son of Edwin and Ellen (Gilbert) Wells.

Richard graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1952. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1988. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Richard was a life member of the American Legion, Post #20, in Plattsburgh. He was also a member of the Saranac Lake Moose Lodge.

Richard is survived by his wife, Beatrice Wells; one son, Wade Wells; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and George Tockey, and their children, Adrienne and Alex Tockey, all of Fort Worth, Texas; his grandson, B.J. LaFountain of Loon Lake; six stepchildren, Cheryl Gagnier of Peru, Simonne Eaton and friend, Jerry, of Dannemora, Michael McCauslin and his friend, Theresa, of Plattsburgh, Velma Bellarosa and her friend, Scott, of Beekmantown, Grace Mackey and her friend, Carl, of Cadyville, and Alyce and her husband, Michael Provost, of Peru. Richard is also survived by 16 other step-grandchildren, Nichole and her husband, Christiansen and their two children, Hailey and MacKenna, Katy, Mark, Grace, Ashley, Jennifer, Bruce, Brandon and friend Hanah, and their child, McKennzie, Michael Jr., B.J. and his son Dalton, Chevon, Rashell, Max, Carl Jr., Kyleigh, Emillie, and Erik; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Gloria Wells of Plattsburgh, and one sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Gerald Santor of Plattsburgh. Richard is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one sister, Marjorie Steele.

At Richard’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Donations in his memory may be made to St. Augustine’s Church in Peru, or to the Vermontville Food Shelf, c/o Mary Ellen Keith, Vermontville, NY 12989. Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home Inc. in Plattsburgh.

RUBY GONYO, 92, of West Church Street, West Chazy, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Sciota on Oct. 11, 1912, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Gebo) Duprey.

Arrangements are incomplete at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

MICHAEL ERNEST MOREHEAD, 29, of Bastian, Va., and formerly of Morrisonville, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004.

A funeral will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Bland Funeral Chapel in Bland, Va.
