Helen M. "Holly" Long

KEESEVILLE — Helen M. "Holly" Long, 73, of Hill Street, Keeseville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born on April 28, 1931, daughter of the late Judge Robert and Kathleen (Ryan) Long.

Helen is survived by a sister; Marguerite Harran and her husband Almet of Plattsburgh; two nieces and two nephews, Kate Harigan of New Jersey, Susan DeVelodre of New York City, Timothy Long of Rutland, Vermont and Ryan S. Long of Florida. Holly graduated from St. John’s Academy in June, 1950, and Plattsburgh Business Institute in 1951. She worked at Surrogate Court for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. Helen was pre-deceased by her parents, two brothers, Robert S. Long Jr. and Thomas J. Long.

Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

John F. Kitson

PLATTSBURGH — John F. Kitson, 66, of Astrodome Trailer Park, Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Shawano, Wis., on April 9,1938, the son of John H. Kitson and Yvette (House) Kitson-Peters.

Mr. Kitson retired from the Plattsburgh Air Force Base after 20 years of service. He was known for his sense of humor and helping those who were less fortunate.

Survivors include two sisters; Ruth Ann Black and her husband A. Eugene of Bryan, OH and Catherine Peters of Virginia Beach, Va.; special family, Arlene Funk of Neopit, Wis., Richenda and Geraldine House of Keshena, Wis., Roger House of Salem, Wis., Reginald House of Mishawaka, Ind. and Natalie and Dean Meyers of Carlsbad, Calif.; five nephews, two nieces, five great-nephews and one great-niece, a special aunt and uncle Hazel King and Robert Kitson of Keshena, Wis. and a special cousin, Pamela Grignon.

Memorial services will take place at a later date in Wisconsin. Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care Unit or the FitzPatrick Cancer Center at the CVPH Medical Center. The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gerald G. "Gary" Dominic

TAMPA, Fla. — Gerald G. "Gary" Dominic, 63, of Tampa, Fla., died on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at the University Community Hospital.

He was born in Ellenburg Center, N.Y. He was a Financial Analyst with the Kodak Corporation. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He attended Life Point Community Church.

Gerald is survived by his wife; Paula J. Dominic of Tampa, Fla.; one son Kevin J. Dominic of Syracuse, N.Y.; four daughters, Sara and Kathryn Dominic of Tampa, Fla., Analisa Dominic of Meuthcen, N.J., Jennifer Domicic of Syracuse, N.Y.; six brothers, Reginald Dominic of Elmira, N.Y., Maynard Dominic of Liver Pool, N.Y., Roland Dominic of Ellenburgh, N.Y., Robert Dominic of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Larry Dominic of Mooers Fork, N.Y. and Ray Dominic of Phoenix, N.Y.; five sisters, Nancy Wayne of Mattydale, N.Y., Mayford Chaffee of Mattydale, N.Y., Janie Angello of Chambersburgh, Pa., Antoinette Toohhill of Burke N.Y., Marylee Fonner of Bonaire, Ga. and five grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Billy Dominic in 2000.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Curlew Hills Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held at 3 p.m.

Elizabeth "Betty" M. LaBrake, 81, of Gove Street, Fort Covington, NY., died Wednesday night, Nov. 17, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Vicky Jarvis in South Bombay, NY., while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc.

Born in Dickinson, NY., Oct. 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Gravlin Gardner.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cappiello-McKenzie and Cosgrove Funeral Home in Fort Covington. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St, Mary’s Church in Fort Covington, with the Rev. Stephen Rooker officiating. Burial will be in the old St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Covington.
