Thomas E. Pearl

Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Fort Pierce, Fla. — Thomas E. Pearl, 68, of Washington Place, Plattsburgh, and Fort Pierce, Fla., passed away early Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 31, 1935, the son of Emmett and Eva (Roach) Pearl.

Tom is survived by his wife, Agnes (McComb) whom he married in 1962; their six children, Sharon Zalis and her husband Roy of Plattsburgh, Henry and his wife Lynda of Felton, Del., Carol and her partner Sue of Marborlo, Mass., Elizabeth and her partner Billie of Felton, Del., Tom and his wife Sandy of Plainville, Mass., and Richard and his wife Kate of Stoughton, Mass.; his sister, Mary Margaret and her husband Don Ireland of Plattsburgh; his brothers, Jack (late) and Maggie Pearl of Plattsburgh and Bob and Jane Pearl of Plattsburgh. Tom was also blessed with 16 loving grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews.

Tom loved God, his family, his church and when they were winning, the NY Giants. He enjoyed golf, boating, playing with his grandchildren and watching his family and friends on Lake Champlain.

Tom was an active member in the community, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Plattsburgh Rotary, Willsboro Golf Club and playing in their Geritol league. He served on the Parish Council at St. John's Church, the School Board at St. John's Academy and the formation board for Seton Catholic Central. He served for many years on the Ethics Committee of the Town of Plattsburgh. He was active in the Town of Plattsburgh Democratic Committee. Many of his other community activities revolved around children and sports, chief of which were various booster activities and his Little League coaching.

Tom served in the U.S. Navy. He earned a masters of arts in counseling from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Tom retired in 2000 as the owner of Fleet Distributors. For many years he was associated with Clinton Community College as the Director of Admissions. Prior to that he was associated with Plattsburgh Dairy. He also spent several years as an elementary school teacher on Long Island.

Friends may call at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Knights of Columbus will gather at 7:30 p.m. Friday night. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Plattsburgh.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. John's Endowment Fund, St. John's Academy or Seton Catholic.

Edmond W. Provost Jr.

Plattsburgh — Edmond W. Provost Jr., 55, of Cornelia Street, Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 26, 1948, son of Edmond W. and Edna (Duquette) Provost Sr.

Edmond had been disabled for many years. He enjoyed his family and friends.

Edmond is survived by his companion, Christine Blaise of Plattsburgh; one son, Craig T. Provost and his companion Tina McDonald of West Chazy; four brothers and sisters, Joan and Donald Burdo of Plattsburgh, Gary and Wendy Provost of Plattsburgh, Debra and Vernon McKee of Plattsburgh and Neal and Deborah Provost of Plattsburgh; two grandchildren, Colby and Holden; his estranged wife, Eleanor Provost of Plattsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.

Edmond was predeceased by his parents; and a niece, Kelly McKee.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Donations in his memory may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Fay A. Pepper

Moriah — Fay A. Pepper, 84, of Center Road, Moriah, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at his home.

He was born May 19, 1920, in Moriah, N.Y., the son of Charles and Leona (Perkins) Pepper.

Fay was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Reale Construction in Ticonderoga. He was also a former assessor for the Town of Moriah and served on the Board of Review.

He is predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Adelbert Pepper, Raymond Pepper and Franklin Pepper; and his granddaughter, Tracy Lee Tilley.

He is survived by his wife, Anna (Harvish) Pepper; his children, Carolyn and Roger Tilley, Shirley and James Tedford and Charles and Judy (Firlik) Pepper; his grandchildren, Scott Tilley, Caren (Tilley) and Frank Crocilla, Lynne Tilley and Jack Rawson, Gary and Carol (Edwards) Rich, Charles Tilley, Corey Tilley and Nadine Wells, Charles Pepper Jr. and Charlotte Grant and Jana Pepper; his great-grandchildren, Frank Crocilla, Nicholas Crocilla, Brooke Crocilla, Alexandra Rich, Gary Rich and Kennice Rich.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service for family and friends will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the South Moriah Cemetery in Moriah, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fay's memory to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad, Moriah, NY 12960 or to High Peaks Hospice, PO Box 195, Mineville, NY 12956.

Helene Belmont

Clearwater, Fla. —Helene Belmont, 75, of Clearwater, Fla., died Nov. 16, 2004, at her home.

She was born in Crown Point, N.Y., and moved to Clearwater in 1975 from White Plains, N.Y.

Helene was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. She belonged to the St. Cecelia’s Coffee Bowling League.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John; four sons, John of Clearwater, Fred of Clearwater, Scott of New Paltz, N.Y., and Bobby of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Kathy Belmont and Debbie Tunison, both of Clearwater; three brothers, Howard French of Port Henry, N.Y., Erwin Laing and Freddy Laing, both of Moriah, N.Y.; five sisters, Lillian Torello of Albany, N.Y., Florence Vogel of Indian Lakes Estate, Fla., Evelyn Hapwood of Plant City, Fla., Nora Streible of Moriah, N.Y., and Ruth Tubbs of Crown Point, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Arrangements are with the Moss-Feaster Funeral Home, Largo, Fla.

Joseph "Tom" Soucia, 70, of County Route 24, Bellmont, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y.

Born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on March 3, 1934, he was the son of Joseph and Marguerite (Gauthier) Soucia.

Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday in St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. John Demo, officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay.

Doris B. Dively, 78, of Route 3, Morrisonville, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.

She was born in West Plattsburgh on Aug. 26, 1925, daughter of Michael and Maude (Simmons) Ducatte.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville.
