Published: 11/2/04John F. GrubeSchuyler Falls — John F. Grube, 90, of Route 22B, Schuyler Falls, passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Beekmantown on April 18, 1914, the son of Paul and Mabel Ellen (Cassidy) Grube. John had been a farmer and later worked at Coca Cola, retiring in 1971. He enjoyed gardening. John was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mabel Grube; and several siblings. He is survived by children Sid Grube and his wife Barbara of Plattsburgh, Sharron Rock and her husband Harlan of Morrisonville, Roger Grube and his wife Carolyn of Selkirk, N.Y., and Judy Forget and her husband Dick of Plattsburgh; a brother, Bill Grube of Plattsburgh; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Brown Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery. Michael A. PhillipsJay — Michael A. Phillips, 67, of Jay, N.Y., passed away at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004. He was born in Saranac Lake on Aug. 25, 1937, the son of Michael and Selina (Muncil) Phillips. He worked as a correction officer for the New York State Department of Corrections in Gabriels, N.Y. After retiring, Michael worked as a free lance photographer and in delivery services for the Plattsburgh Press-Republican and the Adirondack Publishing Co. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Fountain) Phillips of Jay, N.Y.; two daughters, Christina Harse and her husband Scott of Oswego, N.Y., and Kathleen Dorety and her husband James of Rochester, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Keegan and Cooper Harse and Jennifer, Kaitlyn and Erin Dorety. He is also survived by his uncle, Kenny Mulligan of Saranac Lake and his aunt Kate and uncle Robert Sawyer of Saranac Lake. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family suggests friends wishing to remember Michael make donations to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service, P.O. Leona Doris EdwardsErwin, Tenn. — Leona Doris Edwards, 61, 1104 Shiloh Road, Erwin, Tenn., died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a Plattsburgh, N.Y., native and was a daughter of the late Arthur A. and Delia Mary (Daniels) Provost. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a sweet lady with always a good word about people, always offering a hug and a people person that loved her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Edwards; one daughter, Lisa Edwards and fiancé Robert Collins of Erwin; two sisters, Jeannie Desrocher and husband Victor of Johnson City, Tenn., and Virginia Daniels of Plattsburgh; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Lena Edwards of Erwin; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews who called her Mom. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Earl Ragland will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Kim Faulkner, Louise Pate, Verline Lewis and Bonnie Simmerman. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fishery Community Church. Pallbearers will be William Higgins, Maurice Higgins, Roger Higgins, Charles Edwards, Dennis Peters, Tony Slemmons and Shannon Toney. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Edwards, Coy Faulkner, Carl Arrowood and Terry Edwards. Those attending the graveside service will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Valley Funeral Home to go in procession to the cemetery. GravesTiconderoga — Charles E. Graves, 67, of Ticonderoga, passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga. Born in Ticonderoga, May 29, 1937, he was the son of the late Ira E. and Bessie E. (Baker) Graves. Mr. Graves was a lifelong Ticonderoga resident. He worked in maintenance for the town of Ticonderoga and was also a caretaker for the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Ticonderoga for many years. Survivors include two brothers, John Graves and Ira Graves, both of Ticonderoga; one sister, Meredith Frechette; one aunt, Marie I. Baker of Ticonderoga; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Anne K. Huestis will officiate. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Ticonderoga. Donald V. Fountain, 74, of Hill Street, Keeseville, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh following several lengthy illnesses. He was born in Plattsburgh, Dec. 15, 1929, the son of Henry Sr. and Lillian (LaFountain) Fountain. There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at 1 p.m. at St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, parish pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. Flora M. Hammond, 72, of Monty Street, Plattsburgh, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born on March 20, 1932, the daughter of Hector and Florence (Blanchard) Bouvia. Calling hours and funeral arrangements are incomplete at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Theresa Hebert Bossard, 90, of Our Lady of Hope Residence, Lathan, N.Y., and formerly of Cohoes, died Oct. 30, 2004, at her residence, with her family at her side. She was born in Rouses Point, the daughter of the late Domina and Regina (Bourgeois) Hebert. Calling hours were held at Our Lady of Hope Residence, 2 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, on Monday, where a funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.
