Alma V. Laundrie

Rouses Point — Alma V. Laundrie, 93, of 3 Edgewater Drive, Rouses Point, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, after a long illness.

Born in Gardner, Mass., on April 14, 1911, she was the daughter of Charles and Exilda (Babineau) Girouard.

Alma married Howard F. Laundrie of Rouses Point in August of 1931 and has been a local resident since that time.

She worked at Herman’s Ladies store in Plattsburgh for many years, and then managed the village bazaar in Rouses Point until her retirement. Her hobbies included ceramics, crocheting and knitting, for which she created many intricate and beautiful designs and patterns.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Racine of Rouses Point; four grandchildren, Sharron and Bryan Anctil of Rouses Point, Rochelle Kraynak of Morrisonville, Lisa and Henry Gauthier of Mooers and Brandon and Amanda Racine of Rouses Point; 9 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Vanessa Anctil of Albany, Barry Anctil of Albany, Nathalie and Joseph Faubert of Rouses Point, Amber Kraynak of Albany, Jesse Kraynak of Morrisonville, Nicholas and Aaron Babbie of Rouses Point and Adam and Ivory Racine of Rouses Point; and four great-great grandchildren, Austin, Gabriel, Sawyer and Landon.

She was predeceased by her parents; four brothers, Raymond, Edward, Charles and Armand Girouard of Cambridge and Gardner, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Helen) Anctil of Rouses Point and Mrs. Charles (Cecelia) McKean of Gardner, Mass.; and her son-in-law, Alfred Racine Jr. of Rouses Point.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point.

She will be dearly missed by all who love her.

Charles C. Goodrow

Churubusco — Charles C. Goodrow, 84, formerly of Churubusco, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at the Clinton County Nursing Home, Plattsburgh, N.Y., where he had been a patient since July 22, 1996.

Born in Altona, N.Y., on Dec. 25, 1919, he was the son of Charles and Velita (Goodman) Goodrow.

He was married to Doris Lucia on Aug. 22, 1946, in Holy Angels Church, Altona.

Mr. Goodrow is survived by his wife of 58 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Margaret Goodrow of Churubusco, N.Y., and Dale and Sheila Goodrow of Lyon Mountain, N.Y.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon and Lawrence Cayea of Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., Patricia and Allen Cole of Helena, N.Y., and Susan Lashway of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Goodrow of Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Robert Goodrow in 1989; a sister, Bessie Lucia; and a brother, Francis Goodrow.

Mr. Goodrow served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. During his working years, he was a manager at Fairbanks Creamery, Churubusco and retired from the Town of Clinton Highway Department. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Churubusco.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Rev. Howard McCasland officiating. Burial will take place at Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Churubusco.

Donations in his memory may be made to Clinton County Nursing Home.

June M. Hockey, 82, of Ranch Road, Constable, N.Y., died Wednesday morning, Oct. 27, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.

She was born in Constable, June 25, 1922, the daughter of the late J. Fred and Daisy Brockway Maloney.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Burke Center Cemetery, in Burke, N.Y.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone, NY.

Myrtle Elizabeth Malbouf, 97, of Rounds Avenue, Tupper Lake died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at the Mercy Healthcare Center in Tupper Lake where she had resided the past five years.

Born Sept. 1, 1907, in Santa Clara, N.Y., she was the daughter of Juney and Laura (Stockdale) Denue.

A funeral service will be held at the Richer Funeral Home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Father Kris Lauzon officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery.

Helen S. Billings, 87, of Michelle Avenue, Plattsburgh died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home.

Born in Plattsburgh on March 16, 1917, the daughter of Fred and Sophrinie (Tellstone) Sumner.

Arrangements are incomplete at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

PETER S. PAINE, 95, of South Beach Road, Hobe Sound, Fla. and Boquette Farm, 77 River Road, Willsboro died at his home Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004.

He was born on July 9, 1909 at Flat Rock Camp on the Paine family estate in Willsboro.

Services and internment will be private and confined to the immediate family. Friends and members of the community are invited to a reception at the Boquette Farm on Saturday from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
