Published: 10/30/04John E. PruePLATTSBURGH — John E. Prue, 79, of Alana Way, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Lowell, Mass., on March 18, 1925, the son of Albert and Theresa (Quinn) Proulx. John married the former Theresa M. Breyette on April 7, 1943, in Utica, N.Y. Theresa passed away on July 27, 1998. He joined in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1946. John retired in 1991 as a truck driver for CP Transport Over the Road in Plattsburgh. Over his years as a truck driver, he worked for several companies in the Plattsburgh area. Following his retirement, John worked at the P&C and at the American Legion Post 20 on the Quarry Road. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and was a very hard working and dedicated person. Survivors include his companion, Lucille Daniels of Plattsburgh; one son, Rodney Prue and his wife Dixie of Beekmantown; one daughter, Taunyia Miner and her husband Roman of Ellenburg Center; one stepson, George Badger and his wife Carol of Texas; one sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Prue (Manor); four grandchildren, Michelle Barber, Michael Barber, Christina Curry and Laurie Babbie; three stepgrandchildren, Jenny Badger, Tammy Badger and Michael Badger; seven great-grandchildren, Owen Barber, Gabriel Barber, Liam Barber, John Sutton, Dakota Prue, Montanna Kramer and Samantha Prue-Babbie; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Thomas R. Prue, James Prue, Francis H. Prue and Kenneth Prue; and three sisters, Madeline A. Duquette, Marion Elkin and Margaret Prue. Calling hours were held on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Donations in his memory may be made to a memorial Mass in his name or a charity of their choice. A reception will immediately follow the Mass at the American Legion Post 20 on the Quarry Road. Lynn B. Martin, 58, of Swinyer Road, Vermontville, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at her home. She was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 15, 1946, the daughter of Marshall and Vivian (Spring) O’Neil. There will be no calling hours. Private services will be at the convenience of the family, Arrangements are with the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Saranac Lake. |
